13,000 Troops Ready To Provide Security And Support At Trump’s Inauguration

Thirteen thousand troops will be on hand to provide security and support for GOP President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

There will be 5,000 active-duty troops and 8,000 National Guard members from around the country at the inauguration, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1789, the first ever inauguration, according to a new report from Army News Service.

Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz, commander of the District of Columbia National Guard, said guardsmen will be there to help ensure there’s a smooth transition of power, but it’ll be up to local law enforcement to make the first move in the event of a crisis. That local law enforcement includes the Metropolitan Police Department, the Capitol Police and the U.S. Park Service Police.

“If something goes bad, it’s up to the law-enforcement agency to make the first move,” Schwartz said. “We look forward to having a peaceful transition of power on the 20th of January. And we will continue to work with our state and interagency partners to make sure that we have a peaceful transition of power.”

Neither guardsmen, nor active-duty personnel will be armed, but they will have the power to make arrests.

Aside from providing crowd control and other security, active-duty personnel will be involved in musical units and salute batteries.

Trump’s inauguration is expected to draw an enormous amount of protesters.

“Clearly, the biggest concern at this point is the number of potential protesters,” said Army Maj. Gen. Bradley Becker, the commanding general of the Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region.

Meanwhile, anti-Trump protesters are furious they haven’t received permits from the National Park Service to make use of key locations. The Women’s March, for example, hopes to bring as many as 200,000 people to Washington, D.C. This group has been granted access to the U.S. Capitol from the local city government.

Much of the day’s events are determined by the Presidential Inaugural Committee, which takes orders from Trump himself. But at this point, Trump has not yet discussed his wishes for how the day will unfold, meaning that no permits can be issued to other groups before that’s taken care of.

Wasn’t the Women’s March permit approved for the day after the inauguration. They’ll be the only ones around then.

I am concerned. Obama said coming in, it’s Bush’s fault. He says in going out, it’s Bush’s fault. On the surface, he sounds stupid, but I believe it is a threat. After we were attacked, an act of war, Bush took it to the terrorists in their countries. I think Obama means this time he means to bring it here. He said there will be no Christmas. Again, sounds stupid, but I believe he is telling us when we may receive a nasty surprise on Christmas Eve or Day. Also, there are likely Islamists in the military, both on the ground and in the air. Source in Britain reported that large terrorist force is planning to attack on inauguration day, but now that we know that, could have been moved up to Christmas, also because of their hatred for Christians. This would also include sufficient terrorist attacks to warrant martial law, thus taking over until? Democrats polled said they would vote him third term if it were legal. Put this all together, and I think we should have more troops, heavily armed, and antiaircraft as well as planes with known patriots covering the skies. If nothing happens, keep up vigilance through inauguration at least. Yes, I thought my imagination was wild, but post election, I had wild, who’d believe it thoughts and a day or so later, they proved worse than I thought. Not a psychic, I just applied common sense to threats and vulnerabilities already reported but not pieced together. Do not underestimate Obama. Since 9/11, we have been fighting Islamists, and for eight years, God knows why, we have had one in the white House. Project where the Russians might move in their fight against terrorism. See where they may end up. I know this may not sound rational, and I would rather be wrong and called a kook, but if you think this message has any possible merit, please pass it on to President Elect Trump. Also, if I God forbid am right, Obama would cut off logistical support to troops overseas and leave them there to die, so somehow, they must be brought home. Is head of UN a Muslim? Either way, UN hates our guts, so we need to watch them during this time. Eight years of planning, hopefully I have a wild imagination this time. Saw this scenario four years ago and forgot about it. Lately, I underestimated what actually happened. Pray this time I’m just a crackpot. Now, do the liberals look sane? The terrorists? God bless
