President Trump is again defying the mainstream media’s “advice.” They were sure his vow to put an end to sanctuary cities was all talk, but they were wrong… again.
The president is expected to move ahead with his plan to stop federal funds from flowing into sanctuary cities that do not comply with immigration laws. If Trump’s highly anticipated executive orders slated to be inked later today include such a dictate, sanctuary cities could lose millions of dollars.
Not only does the United States have sanctuary cities, but we also have sanctuary counties. In California alone, nearly ALL of the 58 counties in the liberal state offer sanctuary to illegal immigrants.
President Trump will be visiting the Department of Homeland Security around 1 p.m. today, Fox News reports.
While at DHS, he will reportedly introduce and sign executive orders to build the border wall, mandate the hiring of 5,000 Border Patrol agents, and take immigration security actions to deal with sanctuary cities and refugees from regions known to be hotbeds for radical Islamic terrorism.
Liberals claim Trump’s sanctuary cities plan goes way too far and will harm Americans with the loss of federal funding. However, the only way American citizens living in such cities or counties will be harmed is if their leaders CHOOSE to ignore the law they swore uphold and choose party over public safety – and country.
“I would build a Great Wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will have Mexico pay for that wall, mark my words,” Trump said in 2015.
Liberal lawmakers in sanctuary cities who continually defy the law will do so at the peril of their own cities if President Trump signs an executive order terminating federal funding to them. Refusal to arrest or detain illegal immigrants make us all less safe, yet it has gone on for years virtually ignored by Congress and various presidents.
According to the Fox News report, President Trump will also be creating a victims’ advocacy office to help victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants. Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the president is going to focus on illegal immigrants who “pose a threat to people in our country.”
The border wall executive order, if it is signed this afternoon as anticipated, will happen on the same day Mexico’s foreign minister, Luis Videgaray, arrives in Washington. Videgaray appears to be making the trip for preparatory reasons before the Mexican president comes to America later this month.
National security and the economy remained the cornerstone of Donald Trump’s campaign. His massive campaign promises and quick delivery on many of them likely played a significant role in the Dow hitting the 20,000 mark for the first time ever.
