Anheuser Busch Responds To National Anthem Protests

Amidst the national anthem protests, one major sponsor is considering pulling their product from the NFL altogether: Anheuser Busch

The popular beer company is letting the public decide whether they should terminate their relationship with the NFL. This weekend, the beer company set up a hotline to get a better sense of what the public really thinks about the recent wave of protests.

Over the past couple of weeks, more than 150 players have refused to stand for the National Anthem. As a response, fans have been burning jerseys, throwing away season tickets, and game day ratings have plummeted.

Fans (or former fans) are angry. The hotline received such a high volume of calls that it crashed on Friday afternoon but is back up as of Sunday night.

The hotline greets fans with a brief statement:

If you are calling with questions or comments about Anheuser-Busch’s sponsorship of the NFL, press one. At Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the nation’s armed forces, veterans and military dependents. The national anthem is a point of pride for our company and for the 1,100 veterans that we employ. Please feel free to share your feedback after the tone.
Anheuser Busch also released a statement this weekend.

At Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the institutions and values that have made America so strong. That includes our armed forces and the national anthem as well as diversity, equality and freedom of speech. We proudly employ over 1,100 military veterans and we work every day to create an inclusive environment for all of our employees. Because only together can we achieve our dream of bringing people together for a better world. We have many long-term sports partnerships, including our NFL sponsorship, and while we may not agree on everything, we still believe in the power of sport to bring people together and overcome their differences. Thank you.

Bud Light is the official beer of the NFL. No doubt if they decide to pull their sponsorship, the effects will be felt throughout the football franchise.

Anheuser Busch should have dropped the advertisements with the NFL last year! If they do not disassociate the company from the NFL they will suffer greatly with plummeting beer sales.

Yes Anheuser Busch should pull its support of the NFL. Those rich cry babies need a wake up call. The American pay their salaries through product purchases, ticket purchases, and turning to watch them on TV. The American way is what has made them rich whiners! THey need to get over themselves!

Didn’t I just see an article about 7 or 10 days ago that said A-B was not going to sponsor the NFL, and then just the other day they said they agreed with the NFL, and now, again, they are considering ending sponsorship if that’s what the people want?

Forget advertising during any NFL games. They don’t deserve your famous publicity. Put them on regular TV so all can enjoy them but the NFL won’t get their rewards from your company. I stand for Pledge and for the National Anthem. I am proud to be an American.

I got news for you… nobody will be anywhere near your beer or the NFL. They have divided us by disrespecting the armed forces, the fallen, and the law enforcement that protects their disrespectful asses. If you care about military…pull the sponsorship until there is a no politics ban on the fields.

I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of their beer still sitting in the coolers at grocery stores. How can you support our military, law enforcement, schools with a group of men that disrespect our flag and what it stands for, yep that’s a great exsmple. This is the ONLY country where such useless “adults” can play ball and get paid more mind boggling money than ANYONE is worth. I can add them to my Goodbye List.

ALL sponsors of the NFL should pull out!! NOW!! I will not by anything from NFL sponsors!! Has anyone noticed that liberals are full of hate? That most blacks are liberals? That most violence comes from liberals? People that hate Trump are either black or have last names that let’s just say, aren’t AMERICAN last names! They can and will all go to hell someday!

I will not support the NFL or anyone that supports the degrading of this great nation. They have gone too far. I have the right to protest you that allow this kind of disrespect take that hate to a country you can support. I cut my direct TV off a year ago I will not allow you to influence my mind cause when you allow someones opinion to influence your thinking then you have lost your voice. Read the story not just the headline and fact check. RISE AMERICA YOUR VOICE COUNTS

Why would any patriotic company want to support these teams that show no respect for for our flag or the anthem. I served in the military for 29 years. It’s sad and disgraceful to see the over-glorified thugs be supported by anyone. I am asking that you stop your sponsorship to the NFL.
