Prior to the Detroit Lions versus Atlanta Falcons game, Rico LaVelle sang the national anthem, but he did something no one was expecting.
As he was hitting his last note, the singer dropped to one knee and put up a fist in protest. Watch:

This, of course in response to President Donald Trump’s comments made toward those choosing to “disrespect the flag” and calling NFL owners to tell them that they’re “fired!”
Other players — and even the Falcon’s owner — joined the singer in protest as they linked arms and knelt:

Almost one-third of the players in the NFL were expected to protest the anthem on Sunday.
