As the investigation into what the Russians did or did not do during the 2016 U.S. presidential election moves into a phase where it looks like it may be more about Barack Obama than Donald Trump, the Democrats are still clinging to hopes of a knockout punch if they can prove some collusion.
Now the man with a lot of inside information about leaks thinks the Democrats need to move on:

More from Mediaite’s coverage:
As investigations continue into Russia’s actions, Assange blasted the Democrat party elite for creating a narrative of “hysteria” to maintain control over their remaining political power. After slamming Democrats for their strategic choices in recent years, Assange concluded that the party will be “doomed” once the Russia investigation determines there’s no incriminating evidence on Trump:
“The Trump-Russia collusion narrative is a political dead end. Despite vast resources, enormous incentives and a year of investigation, Democratic senators who have seen the classified intelligence at CIA HQ such as Senator Feinstein (as recently as March) are forced to admit that there is no evidence of collusion. Without collusion, we are left with the Democratic establishment blaming the public for not liking the truth about what Hillary Clinton said to Goldman Sachs and blaming their own base for not liking what they said in their own emails about about fixing the DNC primaries.”
The Democrats may not be able to stop going down this road just yet, though. While the collusion payoff has never been much more than a fervent wish on the part of those who so desperately want it to be true, they’ve really invested themselves in it.
Part of the Democratic approach to keeping a false narrative afloat is having the media repeat it so often and for so long that even people who know it’s false begin to believe it just a little.
For so long, they have had no real strategy other than hating Trump and hoping something from the Russia investigation would just take him away already so they may all believe it to be true — even if it looks more and more like there is no “there” there.
Of course, those of us on the right sincerely hope they keep marching towards the Moscow Surprise and we hope the journey takes until at least late 2018.
