The country was stunned this week when footage was posted on Facebook Live showing four black thugs in Chicago mercilessly beating a mentally disabled white teenager while shouting things like “f*ck Donald Trump” and “f*ck white people!”
The Blaze reported that a GoFundMe page was set up in the days after the attack to help Austin, the 18 year-old victim of this hate crime. Though the page initially set out to raise $10,000 for him, it has already raised far more than that.
By Sunday, the page had raised over $125,000 pledged by over 4,000 people on Austin’s behalf in a campaign entitled “Let’s show the Chicago victim love,” The page was set up by Razor Sheldon of San Francisco, CA. The family just posted a statement about Austin’s condition to the page as a thank you for the donations.
“Austin is a little sore and moving slowly, but he has been more alert and has been enjoying food again, as well as playing some video games with his brothers,” the statement read.
The family has also established a PO box so that well wishers can send gifts for Austin. Anyone purchasing a present for him should know that he is a big fan of the Chicago Bulls!

Meanwhile, Brittany Covington, 18, Jordan Hill, 18, Tesfaye Cooper, 18, and Tanishia Covington, 24, have each been arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated battery and hate crime for what they did to Austin. A judge denied them bail on Friday, saying they each pose “a danger to society.”
“I’m looking at each of you and wondering where was the sense of decency that each of you should have had?” Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil said. “I don’t see it.”
Please continue to keep Austin in your prayers as he tries to recover from this horrific event!
