BREAKING: Miami Dolphins Will Suspend And/Or Fine Players Who Protest The National Anthem

On Thursday afternoon, it was reported that the NFL’s Miami Dolphins would suspend and/or fine players who protested during the national anthem.

In late May, the NFL instituted a new “no kneeling” policy. ESPN reported, “The new policy subjects teams to a fine if a player or any other team personnel do not show respect for the anthem. That includes any attempt to sit or kneel, as dozens of players have done during the past two seasons. Those teams will also have the option to fine any team personnel, including players, for the infraction.”

Immediately following the NFL’s announcement, in a survey conducted by Survey Monkey, 54% of respondents approved of the NFL’s new policy, while 43% disapproved. As The Daily Wire reported, “When the pollsters drilled down a little deeper, they found that approval of the policy increased the more hardcore the fan. Among those who described themselves as NFL fans (which was 53% of respondents), a slightly greater percentage agreed with the policy: 56% of either “casual” or “big” fans said they approved of the policy, while 42% disagreed.”

In the fall of 2017, Dolphins coach Adam Gase coach Adam Gase implemented a policy requiring players to either stand for the anthem or remain in the tunnel.

In March, before the NFL instituted the new policy, Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross told the New York Daily News, “All of our players will be standing.”

Wonderful decision! Those players who disrespect our National Anthem and/or flag are not worthy to be called US citizens. If they hate our country so much, they need to take the $$$$ that they have and move to somewhere they would respect. We don’t need these people. They are paid way too much money to PLAY a game. They need to get real jobs and earn their wages. Athletes have been paid too much for too long. If they want to be an athlete, let them get a real job to support their hobby.

So, I never knew exactly what the support or protests were for. Is a compromise doable? Respect the American flag and what it represents because these players are doing all right here. It’s not about democrat or republican beliefs but rather respecting the flag of our country.

Then, give a 30 second moment of silence, players can kneel now while perhaps an announcer tells us what they are kneeling for? They wear pink for breast cancer, let them kneel for whatever it is they are supporting.

Mostly though, I would prefer not to have any of it except to respect our country as always and stand.

Anyway, if the games aren’t about supporting but rather protest of an issue, have everyone wear a colored band or something while posters explain what the heck it is the players are protesting. (We know they aren’t protesting the outrageous money they get.)

Problem I see is players are trying to be political (Trump is white, or republican, or there are to many christians or there aren’t enough muslims at the games or ……..?)(lol). They (the players) really don’t belong in that arena while working or playing ball. I don’t pay lots of money to go to games or watch games with protestors. It makes it appear as if I am supporting the protestors and I may not be. And, If it is a protest, why are they using the flag of our/their country? Why now and not years earlier?

Why aren’t they (players) doing something outside of the games to show their support or protest of whatever it is we are supposed to be doing wrong? I think the players know what they are doing and it is (them) dividing the country. Ya, that’ll get whatever it is they are protesting resolved. (not).

When Trump said they should stand for the National Anthem we know whoever asked him the question was setting this all up to cause the divide. NFL players took the bait! Of course the president of the USA is going to answer that way. Are the players stupid?
