CNN WON’T REPORT THIS! After Notre Dame Students Walked Out on Pence’s Speech, LOOK What Really Happened…

In a display of how far left America’s colleges have strayed, graduating students from the University of Notre Dame walked out on Vice President Mike Pence as he took the stage to deliver his commencement speech.

…and Notre Dame is a Catholic university.

“It’s deeply humbling for me to participate in the 172nd commencement in Notre Dame’s 175th year,” Pence said to robust applause, even as dozens of students began to file out.

It’s not clear to what safe space the perpetually aggrieved liberal snowflakes hastily retreated.

To the school’s credit, Pence was warmly received:

Here is an another angle of the video where you can see that only a very small group walked out.

You can hear in the video that the entire crowd at the graduation starts booing these students. The crowd obviously was in support of Pence and believed these students were disrespectful.

Watch the video below:

This is not how the real world works. These snowflakes need to learn to listen and respect people. They can’t just go home to mommy every time when they disagree with someone.

Their Diplomas need to be suspended and not given out to them…They not only showed so much disrespect for our VP of the united States of America, that they showed so much hatred for America who made it possible for them to make it this far…Hope they have student loans they have to pay off they are totally disrespectful and needs to be reprimended.

I can’t stand these liberal stations anymore! Really….im more worried about my nephew getting deployed to South Korea just miles from the North Korean border! If we go to war….all 3 of my nephews will be deployed! So who cares how many students walked out on the ceremony…you know what they say….karma is a b*^*h… and these kids will find out! Why can’t we focus on what needs to be focused on and stop with this BS!!! I’m sick of it!!!!!

You can’t take away a degree that’s already been earned. This is just a ceremony. They will receive the real diploma in the mail. You can’t take away something that’s already been completed. Since when is a peaceful walkout a crime?! This is America remember?

    • Barbara Patterson

      May 22, 2017 at 12:13 am

They will never make it in life. Their attitudes make me sick. I hope they know who these kids were and post their names publicly. It should be put on their records at school. This way their employer can see what sort of losers they are getting. And, hopefully they won’t get hired.

    • Ellie

      May 22, 2017 at 12:14 am

Mary, I agree with you whole-heartedly! How dare those smart-ass cry-babies get up and leave while their ceremony goes on! If I were the head of Notre Dame, and should they not pay their debts immediately, I’d also declare their degrees null and void! I hope any employer who interviews a 2017 Notre Dame graduate is vigilant, screens the applicant for participation in the walk-out, and orders them to walk out of the company if they participated. I would not hire a single one of those idiots!

and all honors, scholarships, besides the diplomas. This is not how NORMAL adults act. this is not how the real world is. These are little snowflakes that need safe places when they see or hear someone they don’t agree with. Well guess what kiddos there’s gonna be a lot of people in the real world you ain’t gonna like and you are gonna have to do a lot of things you ain’t gonna like. get over yourselves and start acting like adults for a change. I’ve never seen a bunch of idiots act so rude to the president and vice president and for that matter everyone else that doesn’t believe the way they do in all my life. Time to go to work for the lowest paying job there is since you can’t even sit and listen to the Vice President of the United States. No respectful job should hire any of those who walked out. Let their momma daddy support them since they raised them to act like this.

      • Rick

        May 22, 2017 at 6:04 am

Actually and unfortunately, this IS how our adults act today. The kids are only following the example given them by the few who are against the President. These kids all have parents and the parents they have are evidently democrats. Adults have been acting like this since the beginning of time. They usually are able to hide it behind their politics but they very little to hide behind anymore. I’ve seen a bunch of idiots act this way, just yesterday when Trump was sitting with the King and about every hour of the day on the news. I call it the fallout from the last 30 years of dishonest politicians. Our kids don’t know which way is up anymore and it’s up to use to show them. The will be missing out on some of the greatest years in our country. There will be a lot of growing pains as we try to get use to honesty in the White House again.

I so agree 100%. The only thing I would like to add is that in my day, (born in 55), if we were to act like this, we had hell to pay. ONE IOTA of disrespect to someone was grounds for a serious spanking or backhand.

It grieves my heart to see so much disrespect but I wonder if it’s because they’re self loathing. You can’t love anyone if you can’t love yourself. Those of us smart enough know who the author of love is.

Their mommy and daddy are the ones who never instilled even a modicum of respect for others in their little snowflakes. The parents walked out with them at this event. That tells you all you need to know about how they were raised.

If we haven’t figured out that the left in this country is totally and completely deranged yet, then we never will. These people are truly demented and believe that the country will somehow support this absurd behavior. We won’t and never will. They and their parents need to grow up.

I was thinking the same thing. Employers look at social media. They will see the students “proud moment”. How many employers will hire someone that would rather walk out on a situation than face it head on?

They need to wake up! No one gets their way even half of the time. It is so shameful that they had no respect for their school or their elders. Shame on you little babies! You will never make it in the real world!

      • Ken

        May 25, 2017 at 12:48 pm

Wake up. Grow up! The video doesn’t show any adults walking out, so it is likely that some of the parents in the audience were embarrassed about their babies’ behavior.

From what I read they don’t even know why they walked out. Doesn’t make them look too great for a holding down a good job, does it? Any time some one looks at them wrong, are they going to march out the door?

They only destroyed they’re Schools reputation, showed they have no manners, and showed sin. Don’t come if that is the way you feel and have your diploma sent to your home. I would never send any child to Notre Dame if that is what they teach you and how you act toward others. You don’t care about others, your fellow students or others who see you. Word spreads. Unfortunately this is exactly what our country looks like these days… a few that are displaying disrespect and intolerance for anyone and anything that does not fit their agenda. They want to change the country to look, feel and act like they think it should look, feel and act. They present themselves as the intelligent, the majority, while making noise, and sounding off rhetoric of hate and division and proclaiming it is for the cause of love and unity. It is sad… that the these adult children are learning off of “older adults” that are teaching them this propaganda and they are buying into it. Done under the same mask that has been used since the beginning of man…Pride. Be a part of the “progressive” agenda… We know where that lie always gets us.

You should be ashamed!!! They worked hard for their diplomas. They didn’t ask for it to be given to them. They rose above and earned them. In this great nation we are allowed to disagree. We are allowed to not follow the drummer. Your allowed to disagree with them. I’m allowed to disagree with you. And we need to be very careful because the best way to make America great again is to make sure we don’t stomp on the constitution doing it!!

A note should go into each of their permanent files so that when they apply for a job, all employers are told about what they did.. good luck getting a job, ever..I certainly would never hire any of them

    • Kit Kat

      May 23, 2017 at 4:15 am

Simple solution: Post their names on a web site and also include it with their transcripts so that when they apply for their jobs with their ND degree, whoever is going to hire them is fore warned regarding what type of person they will REALLY be hiring. It’s public knowledge and they have zero right to privacy, so it will be out on the web forever, and with their transcripts.

If they are that disrespectful to our country’s leaders, they should not be here. We all do not agree- it’s called a democracy- but must accept our leaders and try to make changes as we think is right, but to not permit our first amendment rights and show such disrespect is NOT American.

They haven’t a shred of decency nor a clue as to what President Trump is trying to do for their freedoms and rights in this country. As far as I’m concerned, I’d like them to take their liberal arts degrees and head for the border. Their ideals are not mine and whatever it is they think they would like to have is nothing I would like to see in my lifetime. Time for them to try another country.

Absolutely. Colleges used to be the birthplace of freedom of speech. Now these children will not even permit speech unless they agree! That is absolutely un-American!! How disrespectful and selfish. At least have the decency and maturity to listen and then decide.

I would be very surprised if any of these so called students were really students, how do we know they weren’t just planted there to show this act of disrespect? Just to make everyone think this would go on. I think Pence needs to be commended, that he didn’t let this interfere with his speech at all.

They are a disgrace to this country.. take away their degrees.. they are not deserving of a degree even though earned.. they are disrespectful to this country. In another country their display of disrespect would have gotten them jail time or shot!.. idiots and morons..shame on them… the University needs to take action against these idiots..

There were 2100 grads and about 100 walked out. A small percentage who do not deserve to their diplomas. They have disgraced Notre Dame with their childlike actions. As a life long ND fan, married to an ND grad for 54 yrs and a son with ND MBA, we are appalled and embarrassed.

We hope a huge number of alums let the administration know and show their displeasure by with holding their gift giving.

I totally agree with Rj Neville. These ingrates RUINED the solemn, respectful ceremony the other 2,000 grads deserved. Since administration was aware of this disruption before it took place and ALLOWED it, they should be held accountable. If I were an alumna or the parent of a grad I would demand “heads to roll.” And, you are correct, with hold any future donations.

@Rj Neville Thank you! I grew up next to Notre Dame. A dream of mine as a child, and will forever be, to attend Notre Dame University. I played there and fished there, my greatest childhood memories were made there! I am one of the biggest ND fans I know. I could go on with the dreaming and awesome stories but let me just let you and your alumni know if they are seeking a grateful recipient of any gift giving I’d give it my all and then give for the Gipper! I’d study like a champion EVERYDAY and blow a kiss toward touch down Jesus and come graduation day, I’d be the first on that field and the last off! Named our family dog Montana Joe 🙂

Agree. If the university cannot teach their students respect for our government, they should not receive the support of the ND community. Love ND- but this is beyond. Their diplomas should not be issued. Freedom of speech and respect for our country should be top priorities. Guess that has not become the case with ND.

I’m sitting here watching these idiots walk out on Vice President Spence and I’m thinking that these are the same people that are going to run this country. My father leaned DemoRat cause he was a Union guy in a steel mill in Pittsburgh but I always disagreed with him on almost every issue. If anything, the students that walked out should go back to 1st grade due to a lack of simple intelligence. I trust their Diplomas are ‘in the mail’. Disrespectful butt wipes. If I were the Notre Dame faculty and staff, I’d be seriously ashamed of these students because their actions are a symbol of what they must have learned at this ‘oh so excellent school’. That being, how to ‘disrespect’ the Vice President of the US. Doesn’t speak well of the educators there does it.

These are the future followers not the leaders of America. With their expensive education they are ignorant people. Were they taught critical thinking? This is just another example of the passive behavior that has flourished in our young people. This weakness whether bred into them by their parents or the failure of disipline from their teachers, something needs to be done to reverse this way of thinking. A college education means little if the party receivng it is not disiplined. The President of North Korea has a college degree.

David Koresh has shown that his wisdom is alive and well in the people above this comment. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. But alas… your interpretation of the Bible allows you to judge(oh wait…) and after reading the Bible numerous times over my lifetime….I can clearly see that Jesus was a protester. Now, back to your regularly scheduled hypocrisy.

  68. Rosario Stracuzzi

    May 22, 2017 at 2:29 am

Why do you think they did that? A simple reason. They want to “Be cool” to their friends. I can guarantee you every one of them who walked out went directly to their Facebook wall and posted “I just waked out on VP Pence speech!!” …and of course the replies were “Awesome!!’, “That took courage!”, “So brave” etc.. From what I’ve seen the word “Brave” and “Courage” has been so distorted today. If any liberal insults the President they’re called brave. Sorry….I reserve the word BRAVE to those who are fighting for our freedom over seas. The fireman who runs into a burning building while everybody else is running out. A Police Officer who gets injured or worse yet, gets killed while providing a safer community. There is absolutely nothing brave or courageous about walking out on a speech. They’re the ones who will probably get nowhere in life.

  69. gop

    May 22, 2017 at 2:35 am

No wonder. The liberal professors there will not allow conservative viewpoints at the risk of poor grades as their weapon. This is the same university that not only had Obama at their commencement speaker but covered the religious statues and artifacts in black as Obama’s pre-requisite for his speech. This was a black mark and low point in the history of this formerly great school. I can see from this rude performance of walking out on Pence means nothing has changed since the Obama desecration.

Im assuming that all of you who referred too these people as snowflakes you know where the word originated. It was used as the word for the flakes that came out of the ovens of the Jews that were cremated. Lets talk about respect. As the saying goes I may not like what you say but I will die for your right to say it. If You think its ok for the president to call women pussies or lie you (start saving for the wall) Or make fun of a physically challenged reporter or say John McCain was not a war hero its ok for students to silently walk from a room if they choose to do that. Thats why they call this America

These few do not speak for the majority of the school or our country. Don’t hold this against the hard work of so many, the entire faculty or the school. This reaction to our country does not speak for everyone. They hurt the remaining graduating class by their actions. Please don’t hold a religion accountable for this disrespect. I think they should not have been allowed to do this or at least been stopped by a few quick comments from the President of the University. I will give every University the benefit of the doubt unless proven wrong. I don’t recall any of the students walking out on Obama last year even though I was appalled that he was giving their commencement speech!

They should not get any benefits or their diploma’s unless they pay the price. They are a disgrace to America. They should be written up so they have trouble finding jobs. As punishment they should have to live in another country for a year & see how great this country is.

If those students had a problem with Mick Pence or Trump or whatever, they should have stayed in their seats and booed him instead of walking out. That would be the manly thing to do. We live in a democracy and we can express our different views. Walking out was cowardly. They should have tried to shout him down. But no, they’re wimps. You know, people say we should have dialogue and accept the opinions of others. But for me, I won’t accept the opinion of another until he’s on my level. The President has shown us how to shout down those you disagree with. Check out his rallies. Until these spoiled students learn how to scream and shout the way our President does, I’m not giving them the time of day.

It is a shame these people haven’t learned anything after going through 13 yrs K-12 and 2-4 yrs college. They don’t realize how blessed they have been to be able to receive an education and all for naught! They might as well burn their diplomas for all the good it is going to do them! It is a shame to call them Americans!

A slap in the face of their parents, University, fellow students, professors and their country. May God have mercy and open each of the walk outers eyes to see the truth and ask for forgiveness to all they so selfishly and rudely turned their backs to. Hope they weren’t solicited by the left and paid to demonstrate so hatefully. Who knows anymore, but hope this does not continue to haunt them the rest of their lives and will repent and get forgiveness from refusing the blessing of a diploma for their hard work with fellow classmates. God bless Vice President Pence for a wonderful Commencement speech for the ones who stayed and honored and were honored as the graduating students from Notre Dame University of 2017!!!!

Extremely disrespectful. However, we do live in a country that allows this freedom of, shall I say, showing ignorance. Had they stayed they may have ultimately caused a larger problem during the program. So, just maybe they did everybody a favor by walking out.

Exactly! They have the right to do what they did…and suffer the consequences of their actions. Names should definitely be taken, and added to any resume for further education, or job search! While they can’t legally keep them from getting their diplomas, they can teach them that a diploma doesn’t always indicate intelligence! Maybe they will finally see that to earn respect one must GIVE respect!

I believe the President of the University should have followed them right out the door. Told them to return with respect or you
you will hold the diploma until all names are listed & recorded for anyone that will be looking for job opportunities. Right now!! Who wants to hire a student that does not respect a speaker, especially the V. President of the U. S. A.
When they get a job are they walking out because they do not like the customer, or a student they are teaching. I would not hire a teacher of these students— to teach high school or even elementary students. No —- these immature students are not ready for employment yet.

The faculty should have stopped Pence for a moment, blocked their retreat, told them to return to their seats, and get all the names. Then when the day was over, start to hand out punishment and make sure the parents were very well informed that it would cost $5,000.00 apiece for those names on the list to get their diplomas. I mean teaching doesn’t stop at the door going out!!! Shame on Notre Dame and it’s very unruly students!!!

I hope that ND will earmark and charge a extra fee for the students walked out. It was very disrespectful and not the way that we should behave just because we “politically” like someone. I never voted or approved of Obama as President, but I would have never treated him rudely, either. If their diplomas are “ear-marked”–perhaps they will have a difficult time getting a decent job.. I truly hope that is the case!!

Like the rest of those who replied, I am disgusted by the lack of respect from the few students involved in the walk – out.
Unlike the others who replied, I understand the CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT of FREEDOM of SPEECH. In these times when tempers flair and hateful words and hurtful actions are in constant use,we seem to forget our basic freedoms. While I DO NOT APPROVE of the disrespect shown to our vice President,I would fight to defend any one expressing their freedom. Too, many wars have been fought and, too many lives have been lost in the name of freedom. Hold tight to every freedom we have. When one freedom is taken away, the others will follow.

One proper protest action would have been to not don the gown and attend so as to physically attempt to show their disdain.
Instead, they could have a legal, peaceful assembly elsewhere to get the attention they seek.
The older I get (68) the more forgiving of the young I get. When they face enough real life their youthful idealism etc. can and does die–except for possible residual embarrassment.

  98. Jody Demeritt

This ceremony was not for anyone but themselves. The thinking that it was to protest what Pence and Trumps political stances are shows that not everyone with a degree is very smart. If you allow people (just by their presents) to make you lose the joy and happiness of graduation… for these students will be more than rough! Are they going to walk out on every job they get or relationship because of a difference in opinion? Maybe abandon their children for disobeying with them? In everything you do….show respect and do not think your now one of the cool kids……or one of
    the smart ones now.

They earned them without any help from Pence, therefore they don’t have to give them back or listen to his crappy speech!!

Graduation is the final class (for lack of a better word)on the road to receiving your diploma and if you walk out just because you don’t agree with who the speaker is, then you are going to have a very tough time getting along in the public, because I can tell you, you will encounter these types of people in your every day life. I really feel sorry for you because you are going to be miserable your whole life. Also, since you walked out on the graduation ceremony, you should not be able to receive a diploma because you did not finish college. I cannot believe you would throw away your parents money by not graduating. You are one SPOILED BRAT. SHAME ON YOU. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WILL FOLLOW YOU AROUND YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. GOOD LUCK IN FINDING A GOOD JOB WITHOUT A DIPLOMA, BECAUSE POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS WILL QUESTION YOU ON THIS. The ones I really feel sorry for are your parents. What have they had to sacrifice so you can act LIKE A SPOILED BRAT and show just how much respect you have for your parents who had to sacrifice so much to send you to college. You are an ungrateful “child” that does not deserve anything in life but a hard time. GROW UP.

    • C Barba

Their parents probably put them up to it & didn’t have to pay or work for the education they received. That’s why it doesn’t matter to them & they walk out (runaway) so carelessly. People who had to sacrifice for that type of education would want to walk up and get that diploma on stage with pride no matter who was speaking bc that would be more of a message to the world than walking out. The ones that walked out have no common sense, or decency, that’s the problem.

I guess I will be the one to get all the backlash for I disagree with everyone commenting here, and I didnt vote for Hillary. These students were doing a peaceful protest instead of out blocking the road, or destroying property. IF it had been a man who was very racist against black people, and let it be known that he was very racist, I guess it would’ve been alright for the black students to sit there and listen to his speech about hope for the future, blah blah blah. Don’t get me wrong. I am not against our current administration. I do not completely agree with comments made about women, or gay people, from our current administration. I do agree with EVERYONE’S right to a peaceful protest. Sorry. I would not be mad at my child for walking out in a peaceful manner.

Let’s enjoy Vice President Pence’s well-informed wisdom by listening to his speech. Let’s congratulate the 2000 who finished their college education honorably. Let’s wish them well and pray for their future endeavors. The littles should be left on the floor until they realize they’re alone and no one us watching. Agreed that this was extremely disrespectful. They knew who the graduation speaker was going to be. If they truly did not agree with it, they should have stayed home and never bothered showing up. That would have been a respectful way to let their opinions be known, instead of a showy disruption that left a “black mark” on graduation for everyone else.

Abandon or RUN AWAY!!! I would not want to have them on the job, or taking care of anyone I know. These type of people are the scary ones!!! I’d fear if they had to teach, protect or to take care of someone in a hospital, that they didn’t see eye to eye with!!! They would give F’s just bc they didn’t agree, not protect, or give proper care, if they can’t sit through a simple speech of congratulations even if it’s from someone they dislike or have different views. For you so called graduates who walked out. It shows you have no respect for yourself and your country. An absolute disgrace and you should not receive your diplomas for this. You have to learn to show respect in order to get respect and you have to work for it. One thing college does not teach is how to act like an adult, use common sense and belong to society. Grow up because it will make you a good person. A lot of us have not liked former Presidents, but we did not carry on like this. I hope your parents cut off your funding and make you work for everything you want. Like tissues and pampers for your childish acts. Grow up and you disgraced OUR COUNTRY.

Based upon their disrespectful display of a lack in Critical Thinking Skills, it is clear they need further education in Practical Logic and, at least, ethics. Maybe, when they enter “the real world” and get some real life experience, they will learn the needed experiences to function as true professional leaders. Listening, especially to VP Mike Pense, and other proven leaders, would have enhanced the education they have received thus far.

I don’t agree with the students walking out. However, I WAS wondering a couple things. What does Notre Dame being a Catholic school have to do with it? I’m also puzzled why so many who have commented are so upset about this walkout. This is still a free country (as I’m sure all of you are proud to say), and if a certain number of people want to display their ignorance and disrespect, they are within their rights to do so. I really don’t understand why so many are SO upset. Individuals at the highest levels of our government have been regularly disrespected for hundreds of years by individuals who disagree with them. Why should this display of stupidity bring this level of hatred this time? It seems to me like a lot of people are being overly sensitive on this. Why? Look, a lot of people don’t like Trump(some say he lost the popular vote, after all). Some people associate Pence with Trump. They chose to make a statement. I think it was a bad idea, but why are so many getting so upset about a bunch of college kids thinking that it matters somehow that they walked out of their own commencement ceremony? Methinks that it’s more than just the walking out. If the reaction is because people don’t like it that this somehow denigrates Trump are being overly sensitive. There’s a lot more blatant denigrations of Trump going on pretty much everywhere.

Listen to how much hate and nastiness you all are giving to graduates who have earned their diplomas. Some of you need to go back to school and educate yourself before you continue to misspell. Yes. This act was disrespectful yet who is anyone to take away or incur extra charges for diplomas because they are exercising their rights to not listen to Pence. Just as we boycott certain businesses or items how is this different. This day and age has allowed many behaviors to be satisfactory yet when Trump supporters see this in action right before their very eyes, you’re appalled.. I view this as a massive fail for Notre Dame. They’ve have these young people for several years and have not broken through the indoctrination of the media. I ashamed of anyone that can’t even listen to a speaker without some kind of revolt. This wasn’t a campaign speech and Pence wasn’t pushing ideas on the masses. How does a young person grow emotionally if they can’t even “listen” to different or opposing ideas. What a shame and disappointment.

They are an embarassment to this noted College. The parent child relationship is one area of contentiousness, however, they have the rest of their lives to deal with bosses, partners, neighbours, and other human beings. I do not think this bodes well for their futures.

What is everyone so riled up about? Isn’t this a “free” Country? These students have every right to show their discontent with anything that they do not agree with. At least they didn’t block traffic, or riot in the streets. Remember this. If these people can’t show how they feel, about a subject….neither can you! We do not all think, nor act alike. At least, in this case, there was only a small minority, who chose not to listen to our Representative.

Shame that the President of the University didn’t hold diplomas from brats until he felt they were mature…either from a job or from family and friends. Remember, Jesus showed humility while he was under Caesar….even if he had a difference of opinion. They have no humility but sure show they have sin.

First Amendment rights to a peaceful protest are the very foundation of our country. These kids quietly and peacefully let their views be known, and did not affect anyone else’s ability to gear Mr. Pence if they wished.

Honestly, 99% of the comments in here are far more disrespectful and anti-American than what these students did. It is you lot that should be ashamed of yourselves.

Would like to see this as SOP for the future:
    (1) If you walk out, you will not be readmitted, you will not walk the stage. Go home.
    (2) Any and all Federal grants, scholarships, loans, etc. are retroactively revoked and the bill is now due and payable within 30 days. You figure out where to get the money.
    (3) Only after you pay off your bill, then your diploma will be mailed to you, Third Class Library Rate.
    (4) Your name and contact information will be stricken from alumni files, but listed as an unwanted intruder in campus security files. You are not to be on campus at any time henceforth.

  158. David Martin

I saw bits from the comments. Since this is a Catholic University, why are actions like this even tolerated? I would demand all of them be escorted to the President’s office, shorn of their cap and gowns, all their records shredded, all monies refunded (if any) and sent home packing. Now go home and cry to Mommy.

Refreshing to see this is a minority percentage. God bless America, our One Nation Under God. Truth & Justice is the American Way . . .the reign of God across our land. Note, pride is the lack of Charity/Love and where the perfection of love, humility can have no share in a same given moment or space in time. By our God given gift of free-will we choose between one state or the other. Like the image of the yin and yang, black and white, we see the end means, Hell vs Heaven. Our Founding Father’s knew history well and tried to end the repeat of the disasters of old which have taken place since the first recordings of time. Hence, why they so carefully wrote our Declaration of Independence and Constitution . . . to serve for our/we the peoples’ protection and freedoms. So refreshing to see men of Truth holding office in our present time and of whom truly care about America – of whom, once again are, “We” the People. Recommend read history and teach truth of history.

“CNN Won’t Report on this” It’s literally on their front page and has been since it was reported by them when it happened live.

Learn to make your own opinions people, this site is misleading you more than the main stream media.

People say stand up for what you believe in until it’s against what they believe in. This behavior was encouraged by republicans during the Obama administation. I think their reason for the walkout was dumb, but it’s their right to do it. If they said they couldn’t support Pence because of his support of Trump and the weapons he just sold to the country where 17 of the 19 terrorists from 9/11 came from. I would say that is a good reason to walk out. But to say it’s about how Pence doesn’t listen, we haven’t had a president listen to the little guy in a long time. We all should walk out on every presidential speech until the end of time if thats the reason they walked out. But you guys don’t need a clickbait website to hear what you already know.

Patrick Henry said “Give me Liberty or give me death” . This author thinks our new motto should be ” Americans need to learn to listen “.

Here’s the deal. Our constitution is being trampled and Americans are losing rights. Our nation was supposedly born with the concept of free speech. Getting up and walking out is an example of free speach. Our nation seems to be afraid of open discourse here. It’s lawful and appropriate for people to voice their opinions on politcal matters and our rights. Pence is part of a very restrictive administration. People can comment on this and we shouldn’t feel threatened if they do.

They wanted to beat the Notre Dame traffic, it’s brutal! (Sarcasm for the ND fans 🙂 )
How incredibly disrespectful to their own student body and the families of those, not to mention our VP. A total disregard of all those who were filled with great pride for accomplishments for parents attending THEIR child’s moment. Parents who planned, budgeted, prayed, and financed, to the student body, their classmates, who worked as hard as these, who gave as much, who earned this Their moment too and to the faculty that pushed them to achieve, a ceremony and celebration, to accept sucess,to give credit, to say thank you, THESE selfish, immature grads have a lot to learn, least of which; respect and tolerances. They took from many, perhaps to save grace, an apology to all.

The press will cover 10 people with a sign against Trump But not cover the 500 people across the street who support Trump. Trump is right the press is the blame for most bad stories. Post their, names so Employers will know what kind of people they will be getting if they hire them. Post all the Lawyers from Harvard who walked out the other day also.

  203. Mike

    May 23, 2017 at 2:08 am

Yeah those kids should of just sat and listened, but taking their diplomas away is just ignorant. Now before I get called a snowflake by someone I will say I served in the armed forces for years and if you didn’t I suggest holding that snowflake to yourself. In reality the kids disrespected someone and that is life. Also maybe if trump and pence were hurt by those kids walking out then maybe they need a thicker skin kind of like everyone on here being disrespectful in return. Voicing a negative opinion of someone doing something you don’t like makes you seem like a crybaby and a child just pointing that out. It might be time for the whole country to grow up.

  204. Cathy Frosh

    May 23, 2017 at 2:21 am

I hope employers get a list of the ones that walked out. If these graduates will disrespect the Vice President of the United States, then they will certainly disrespect any Manager, Supervisor, or Dept. Head that they might someday work under. If I was in a position to hire, these would be people I would definitely stay away from!

Wow! All these comments and not ONE worthy of being uttered by an adult! This world would be a sad place indeed if everyone were forced to conform to the opinion of a few. This country was fought for and our constitution was written on the very principal you are trying to stamp out. GROW UP commentors!

  206. Michael Dalton

Calling the students “snowflakes” is pretty funny. Go back and read the comments on this page. Talk about people needing a safe place. So some students decided to demonstrate their disdain for Mike Pence and that causes some weak kneed conservatives to cry, boo hoo. Have any of you noticed they didn’t start fights or try to disrupt the ceremony? They peacefully demonstrated their opinion of Mike Pence. Good for them. That happens to be what is meant by “Free Speech” for you members of the knee-jerk blizzard.

  209. Kit Kat

    May 23, 2017 at 4:13 am

Simple solution: Post their names on a web site and also include it with their transcripts so that when they apply for their jobs with their ND degree, whoever is going to hire them is fore warned regarding what type of person they will REALLY be hiring. It’s public knowledge and they have zero right to privacy, so it will be out on the web forever, and with their transcripts.

  211. Andrew Brenneman

    May 23, 2017 at 5:22 am

They stood up for their catholic beliefs. 100 students of faith, stood up and left because they were insulted that a fellow catholic had abandoned his faith in the practice of his politics. He directly contradicts Catholic social teachings and values and targeted vulnerable members of the University’s community in his role as governor and VP.

I guess if your preacher got up in front of you on Sunday after his wife divorced him for adultery, that you would sit silent in the pew, as he told you that you should be faithful in your marriage?

Are we to bow down to our public officials that are elected? Can we simply chose to leave the room?

  212. David

  213. Stevie Kicks

    May 23, 2017 at 5:30 am

This is America isn’t it? We have the freedom to protest. Our military (My Father, Uncles and Cousins) fought to protect YOUR freedoms! The freedom to walk out if you so choose. Agree or not…it does not matter. Opinions don’t matter. The fact is that in America, one can choose to walk out. Would you walk if it were Obama or Hillary? Yes! There are those of you who would! It’s your freedom…your right to walk.

Ugggh! Here we go again with these air heads who don’t get their way. They bellow and turn the other way. For what point? To prove what? So take their binky away and let them cry till they’re blue in the face. It’s a tough life out there and wait till you get in the Real world and have to take orders from someone and grunt about it. They will show you the same door you used to come in to go out – for the last time. And then you’ll be going for job after job and learn it’s all the same way out there. Your tantrums will not be tolerated. Grow up. Learn to respect people that you have to live with and work with or you’ll be cleaning car windows to catch a buck.

  217. Lance

    May 23, 2017 at 9:17 am

People have the right to do what they want to do and shouldt be criticized for that. They weren’t disruptive and belligerent. Their families or scholarships were paid for so it shouldn’t matter. This is what is wrong with the world today. No one walks in another shoes or sees things through their eyes. Don’t just criticize, judge and condemn another because you never know or may not comprehend the way they view things. However, it all starts with good parenting. My children know better and would never do this to anyone regardless of their position in life. If anyone is to blame for the actions of the students blame the majority of them that just wasn’t raised or disciplined properly.

  218. Von Adams

    May 23, 2017 at 12:02 pm

What a disgrace. If I had ever disrespected the country, the flag, the Vice President or the President, my momma would have slapped me into the next county…and I would have carried out the tradition with my children. Parents across the nation pay hefty tuitions to allow their children to follow their dreams. Their reward : blithering, unpatriotic twits with a piece of paper in their hands. They will never realize the blessing of feeling pride in their country…they have robbed themselves.

  219. Nicole Haman

    May 23, 2017 at 12:29 pm

I think it is disgraceful and I would be embarrassed to have these kids for a daughter or son. What a bunch of whiny babies we have raised. When things don’t go their way, they either walk away or protest. If you don’t like it, then work to make it better instead of acting like a bunch of overgrown spoiled brats! This does not bode well for our country.

  220. fultzy

    May 23, 2017 at 1:09 pm

Every day brings new challenges, and new opportunities. This day, students had the opportunity to be respectful or to behave as petulant children. For those who chose the latter, you will never be able to say you behaved as an adult on your “special day”. Instead you own your disrespectful, childish behavior, which is a stain on your character forever. You lack personal integrity and common decency, and your disrespect will come back to you tenfold. Of that you can be sure.

  221. Tim Schlotter

    May 23, 2017 at 1:30 pm

  223. John Panco

    May 23, 2017 at 3:13 pm

I am going to preface my comment with stating that I voted for Trump, and abhor the liberal backlash over his victory. However, all of you vilifying these young people are committing the same disgraceful behavior. This is the United States of America, where it is the RIGHT of every citizen to speak his or her mind on any given subject. Whether we agree with them or not is of no consequence. They had the RIGHT to do what they did. Our country is so divided at present that I fear that nothing short of war or an alien invasion will unite us.

  224. Steve Ganiere

Sadly, a majority were women. So, obviously, this is about losing an election. It’s more about a female being POTUS than the fact that woman is a murdering criminal that has enough power to keep the charges at bay, so far. And if this is about losing an election and being such sore losers, like little children, obviously, they aren’t ready to run the world. They have simply put themselves on display for WHY women aren’t ready to run the world. In addition…..we have kids coming up that have NO sense of authority. None whatsoever. They do not respect a position. They can’t respect their parents, who are the first in the chain of teaching about authority, and they have no respect for their teachers or school administrators. They have no respect for police or the those in office or judges or God. They thumb their nose at everyone, declaring their lameness makes them unfit to breathe or exist instead of being able to differentiate between the person and the office. It’s an arrogance that’s rooted far deeper than Hillary or one or two elections. Politics aren’t to blame. They only take advantage and fuel the fire that’s already there. This came from their upbringing and those that chose to teach them a lack of respect.

As an employer and controlling stock-holder in my Corporation, I aim to get a list of the graduates who walked out of this ceremony and make it a point to NEVER hire them. Ungrateful, spoiled and pampered Snowflakes that they are, they should NEVER be in a position of leadership.

Our educational system has become a cesspool of brainwashing and stupidity. Liberals have taken control of our educational institutions and made them communist propaganda promoting institutions. They are being taught that it is always someone else’s fault (thank the communist-muslim Obama for that). Unless and Until Parents and Taxpayer’s stop the insanity in education we will never have a generation of intelligent young people again. I would suggest any and all parents who do not want the snowflakes to take over their children, please enroll them in private schools. Public schools are the most evil institutions besides government.

As an alum class of ’84, I am embarrassed to be part of the Norte Dame community. If this is an example of what this once prestigious university is producing, then I guess I will rethink any future donations. Until the current BOD’s and adminstration are replaced, don’t bother calling.

these students were just graduating, showing what they think they know, ummm they learned disrespect well. If they don’t like Trump or Pence, well these are our Pres and VP, then they should be shown the door to a country where you are not allowed to disagree with the laws or authority, heaven forbid if they were caned for their opinions. Apparently when they walked out they were not allowed back in to join their classmates, wonder how they received their diplomas, I would hope with not a ounce of fan fare and heads hung in shame.

It was done for show and attention. If you do not want to attend your graduation ceremonies, you don’t have to. They will mail your diploma or you can pick it up. To disrupt the ceremony with their actions shows their lack of consideration for their own colleagues with whom they thought little and chose not to celebrate their friends. A show of lack of respect for their colleagues as well. Sad.

The shame of it all……Bringing shame to a Great Institution Like Notre Dame. There is no excuse for their behavior, there is no justification for the their behavior, their is no reason for their behavior. They are spoiled brats with no respect for anyone except themselves. After a disrespectful act like this…..I’m not sure that they even have any self respect.

I think these so called adults act like a bunch of small children who don’t know any better. They are going to have a hard time in life if they don’t change their ways. They were very disrespectful., Vice President Pence is a very respected person..

And to think that these same type WELCOMED IRAN’S AHMADINEJAD TO SPEAK AT COLUMBIA! No protests. No disruptions during his speech. No walkouts. No disrespect for a man who wanted to wipe MILLIONS of Jews of the Map as well as the GREAT SATAN!

If that were my kid, adult or not, I would’ve marched on down there…turned them around and sent them back to there seat with a swat to the behind! Totally humiliating as a parent to have to witness your adult child being so disrespectful, childish and cowardly. You are there to witness this HUGE milestone in their life… the beginning of a new chapter; they are now officially an educated grown adult. I couldn’t even imagine the exchange that some of these families had afterwards. I’d cancel any celebration. And say… “CANCELLED… due to walk-out.” And…tell my kid…HEY BUDDY…that’s life. There are consequences to your actions. (WHICH…should’ve been learned since they were 5 years old) Sheesh… it’s so pathetically sad that it makes my skin crawl.

These students should NOT receive their diplomas until they write or personally apologize to Vice President Pence!!! He did not deserve that. He is OUR V.P. & should be respected! I would have been mortified if one of my children had pulled a stunt like that at their graduation. I would hope they wouldn’t have. I know that I taught my children respect & as far as I know they are all 3 still respectful . (they are all 3 grown 44, 50 & 52) I also know that they have passed it on to their children.

They should not be allowed to receive their diplomas until they have a course in courtesy and this class should last
at least one school year, five days a week and a minimum of four hours per day. Hopefully their block heads would
soak up the gist in that length of time. Diplomas should also show they were required to take this class to gain
understanding of proper respect and behavior!

I feel that the reported 75 Snowflakes who walked out on Vice President Pence’s speech, should have to have ALL student loans, dues, debts, etc., repaid BEFORE they can claim their diplomas. Just curious, does anyone know how many graduates walked out of the address (turned political rant) delivered by Hillary at Wellesley? I’m sure that there were some in attendance who don’t agree with her insanity but attended like adults, showing respect even though it definitely wasn’t deserved. The difference between Republicans and Democrats. Gold bars vs. Fool’s Gold!!!

I agree with all who called the actions of those who walked out rude and disrespectful. I also submit to you that calling someone “snowflake” is also rude and disrespectful. We don’t have to put down those we vehemently oppose. It’s time that we all exhibit kindness and respect and civility to all. Be the example.
