CNN reporter Jim Acosta went after White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Wednesday over remarks made by President Donald Trump during his rally on Tuesday, where he highlighted the weak accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The testy exchange happened when Acosta asked Sanders if she thought there was “something wrong” with Trump “mocking” Christine Blasey Ford — even though her story has been thoroughly discredited by the prosecutor who questioned her and new accusations have surfaced that suggest she lied under oath.
“Are you saying Judge Kavanaugh is the victim in all of this?” Acosta asked Sanders.
“I think both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh are victims at the hands of the Democrats,” Sanders responded. “I think it is absolutely disgraceful what they’ve done and exploited this process.”
“You don’t have a problem defending the president’s comments last night?” Acosta replied.
“I don’t have a problem stating facts,” Sanders answered. “I know that’s something you probably do have a problem with but I don’t.”
