Football season is just about to start, and the people are curious to find out whether the last season national anthem protests that Colin Kaepernick started, will continue.
This situation with protests separated the players and fans. As Dallas News Sports Day reported, Dak Prescott, a Dallas Cowboys quarterback thinks that this is a very simple issue.
On an interview with Yahoo Sports producer Evan Doherty, he was asked would he participate in any probable protests that might happen. Prescott answered with 4 words that surprised everybody.
Prescott briefly said, “No, not at all.”
The producer wasn’t satisfied with the answer so he asked Prescott to say something more and explain his stand.
“I mean, it’s bigger than I think some of us think,” Prescott stated. “It’s just important for me to go out there, hand over my heart, represent our country, and just be thankful, and not take anything I’ve been given and my freedom for granted.”
Here you can see the interview:
We should appreciate that Prescott is thankful for the freedoms in our country. It would be great if all the other NFL players can see the same and realize how unnecessary these protests are.
Everyone who feels standing up at the national anthem is unnecessary could take a knee and that’s a constitutional right. But, it says a lot about their ignorance and disrespect of the country.
They are hypocrites who enjoy their life in this great country while screaming for protests. We all know that there is racism in America. But taking a knee on the national anthem wouldn’t solve this issue. And all the appreciation to Prescott who is aware of this and respects its country.
