Elizabeth Warren, Desperate And Failing In Polls, Calls For House To Impeach Trump

On Friday, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) desperately trying to gain attention for her failing campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination, which she launched before everyone else but remains lagging far behind other candidates, even in her own state, called for the House of Representatives to impeach President Trump.

In a series of tweets, Warren wrote:

The Mueller report lays out facts showing that a hostile foreign government attacked our 2016 election to help Donald Trump and Donald Trump welcomed that help. Once elected, Donald Trump obstructed the investigation into that attack. Mueller put the next step in the hands of Congress: “Congress has authority to prohibit a President’s corrupt use of his authority in order to protect the integrity of the administration of justice.

The correct process for exercising that authority is impeachment. To ignore a President’s repeated efforts to obstruct an investigation into his own disloyal behavior would inflict great and lasting damage on this country, and it would suggest that both the current and future Presidents would be free to abuse their power in similar ways.

The severity of this misconduct demands that elected officials in both parties set aside political considerations and do their constitutional duty. That means the House should initiate impeachment proceedings against the President of the United States.

As The Daily Wire reported on April 9, “Warren is already behind Biden and Sanders in polls of early primary states, including Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, and hasn’t cleared 10% in any national poll since announcing her candidacy way back in early January. Emerson also conducted polls in slightly later primary states, like Nevada and Pennsylvania, and found similar results — including that Warren is running just ahead of Buttigieg, who came on the scene only a little more than week ago.”

Warren’s obsessive dislike of Trump dates back a while; who can forget her squawking like a chicken after she accused Trump of being afraid to release his tax returns? Or boasting, “I seem to be in his head. I get up every day in the fight for working families, and Donald Trump is not going to knock me off that. He is just not.” Or invoking the 25th Amendment to try to remove Trump from office, asserting:

If senior administration officials think the president of the United States is not able to do his job, then they should invoke the 25th Amendment. The Constitution provides for a procedure whenever the vice president and senior officials think the President can’t do his job. It does not provide that senior officials go around the president — take documents off his desk, write anonymous op-eds. … Every one of these officials have sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States. It’s time for them to do their job.
