James Shaw Jr., the unarmed man who wrestled away the AR-15 that suspect Travis Reinking used to shoot inside a Waffle House, provided insight into how he was dealing with the traumatic experience.
Shaw revealed that he went to church the very next morning, and said it was to help him heal mentally and spiritually.
“I just went to church just so I could begin kind of like the healing process and kind of persevere through this situation,” Shaw said. “And I just wanted to be around, you know, some love. My fraternal brothers came to support me. My family was there to support me. The church was there to support me.”
