Hobby Lobby’s ‘Offensive’ Decoration Has Gone Bonkers Viral — 100k Facebook Reactions and Counting

Daniell Rider, a Hobby Lobby consumer, found a decoration at one of their stores so offensive, she shared the image on Facebook requesting that they remove the decor from their shelves.

What was it?
Rider on Thursday shared a photo of a shelf with glass bottles containing what appear to be replicas of raw cotton plants.

She captioned the photo, “This decor is WRONG on SO many levels. There is nothing decorative about raw cotton… A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves.”

“A little sensitivity goes a long way,” she added. “PLEASE REMOVE THIS ‘decor.’”

What kind of outcry occurred?
After Rider shared the post, it garnered viral attention on Facebook.

At the time of this writing, the post has been “liked” 33k times, has received 76k comments, and has been shared nearly 7k times.

The reaction was split — some commenters supported Rider’s outrage and wrote things like, “What do you expect from HL!!!? NEVER shop there!” while others couldn’t find the offense in the innocuous-looking decoration.

One commenter wrote, “Ummm… it’s cotton… wtf…its 2017… do you know some slaves in 2017 that picked this cotton and didn’t get paid for it. Just… stop.”

Some perspective
Art is art, and visual decor falls into that category.

Visually stimulating productions of art — whether worthy of The Louvre, or simply available at your local craft store — is created with intent and meant for interpretation.

Art’s intent is to be stimulating, and oftentimes meant to be a conversation piece in order to trigger important conversations.

Art can also be art for the sake of visual appreciation. There doesn’t necessarily need to be a deep meaning behind it.

While artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Jackson Pollock are widely different, each represents an unconventional aspect of art appreciation which some may “get,” while others may not.

The cotton plant decor has been on all the home decor shows on TV for a few years……a person who thinks differently is just out of touch with decorating and want to start a fuss!

I agree people just need to stop it already! They are just looking for a reason to start fussing. Do you know what symbol I find offensive? A cross! As in the symbol of the Catholic Church. And do you know why? My ancestors Native Americans were slaughtered by the thousands all in the name of that symbol cuz we were heathens and it wasn’t that long ago like 60 years ago that some of my grandfathers and relatives were put in Catholic schools and were taught to write and if they didn’t write beautiful they were beaten severely by the nuns and the priests. They were also forced to quit talking their own language or else they would get beaten severely to the point now where only two people in my tribe know our native language. So before anybody gets all bent out of shape over a couple of bushes how about put your self in my position when you see anything Catholic or you see pictures of buffalo- which were also slaughtered close to extinction- time for everybody to get over it already

I made all the rustic Barn Wood Frames, table place settings, cake stands and walk through arch etc for a large wedding and they used several displays with raw cotton in them! It was a beautiful wedding!

The Idiot who first complained about the Raw Cotton should have their brain examined.
I’ve Picked Cotton, and I’ve never been a slave. In fact, I’ve never met, or seen a Slave.Growing up in a small Farm Community, in North Carolina,in the 40’s and 50’s we Picked Cotton. We Worked. We were not Farmers, in farm Community. We looked forward to any work that we could do. We Always looked forward to the Harvest season, when the Abundance of Crops were harvested, and turned into cash. Actually the season began early with probably Cucumbers, which I picked, and Hated, the worst job on the farm, I thought. Then, at about the end of June, we began the Tobacco Harvest. That too, was Hard, and Fun. We got to meet with and associate with other people other than Family members, and there were always Pretty Girls. Corn and Cotton, were harvested, later in the Fall.

Richard Misel Jr, you are so right!! My white family was share croppers in Arkansas in the late 1940’s and 1950’s. I chopped and picked cotton when I was 6 years old. The only thing offensive about this decor is the ignorance displayed by these liberal idiots who probably never worked a hard day in their lives to support themselves!!

What a bunch of idiots there are. Hobby Lobby is one of the most Christian companies there is. I am from cotton country in Texas and I thought the display with awesome. I cant believe we have such stupid, idiot, dumb, morons, racist people that live in the United States. What rock did all you idiots come out from under-I wish you would go back.

What is wrong with all those people. Hobby is one on the most Christian companies there is. I am from cotton country in Texas and for your information my family were all farmers and picked cotton. I saw the display and loved it. YOU complainers need to get a life and find some good in this country or I suggest you need to move to a country where you don’t have food, and you dodge bullets. Oh and buy the way don’t ever buy any cotton products because you don’t deserve to wear something as American as cotton.

Cotton is cotton, nothing else, except it was an important part of america, They are twisted, making something out of nothing. September 18, 2017 at 3:25 pm

‘Living in the past’ can be a good thing. After slavery was abolished, cotton farming allowed many blacks economic growth. “Ralph J. Bunche, an expert in Negro suffrage in the United States, observed in 1940 that “many thousands of black cotton farmers each year now go to the polls, stand in line with their white neighbors, and mark their ballots independently without protest or intimidation, in order to determine government policy toward cotton production control. The cotton industry continued to be very important for blacks in the southern United States. By the late 1920s around two-thirds of all African-American tenants and almost three-fourths of the sharecroppers worked on cotton farms.[11] 3 out of every 4 black farm operators earned at least 40% of their income from cotton farming during this period.[11] Studies conducted during the same period indicated that 2 in 3 black women from black landowning families were involved in cotton farming.[12] (wikipedia)

So right, back before the civil war, cotton was the great commodity of the south. we exported it to Europe. Without cotton NOLA would be a small town just like many LA towns. The Port of NO was used to load ships. The Mississippi was used to bring cotton to be loaded on ships. Today cotton is picked by a machine and shipped via truck, train and barge. Cotton blooming gives off the appearance of a flower blooming and so it is used in home decorating. I’m offended that anyone would be so offended by this and go bat s**t crazy over it. Get a life. People don’t get upset when they see a steel horse or bird on the shelf. The Irish may have not been traded as slaves but were treated no better working steel for far less than a working wage. Many treated worse than southern slaves. No one gives them any thought when they open a car door or get on the bus or subway. It’s sad that Americans have become so hardened the have to hunt store shelves to become offended.

I seem to remember some years ago there was a religious painting done in part with human excrement. It was removed from an art exhibit as offensive and not art. The Courts said it was art and fell under free speech and had to be allowed no matter how offensive some may find it. I think raw cotton, no matter what thoughts it evokes or not, is certainly less offensive than that! Grow up people. Stop looking for your 15 minutes.

Got to agree with that. Hobby lobby is so blessed to get all this free publicity. Sales will go up every time somebody looks for something that will get their picture on the front page of any news. So glad we didn’t have FaceBook when we were growing up. What in the world would we had to put down under our Christmas trees? What are our kids going to use for tails on the rabbits projects at school? I just wish people would choose not to go to Hobby Lobby to raise cain. If you don’t like it, just don’t buy it.

you are right Frank, I think this woman just wanted her 15 minutes of fame and found a way to get it. There was a time when blacks and whites picked cotton to make ends meet and provide for their families. If that is offensive to her, then she really needs a reality check! Her family is probably rich and they never had to pick cotton, crop tobacco or work a garden to feed her family. Poor thing, her sensibilities have been assaulted. wah, wah, wah

I absolutely agree. What WOULD they do if no one reacted? What WOULD they do if not one single reporter showed up and thrust a microphone in their face asking ALL about how their conscience was shocked? How the hell do these nit-picking, pot-stirring, attention-seeking, totally self-absorbed individuals have the TIME to stand around in a parking lot holding up a hastily scribbled sign is BEYOND me!!
There are so many real problems that truly need the attention and care from others; if these people would direct all this extra energy they have pent up toward their fellow man, they might see their priorities change course.
If you LOOK hard enough for problems, you are sure to find them. These people need a hobby in the worst way!!

Why don’t we all just ban milk products because of all those hard working farmers who have to get up at 430 am to milk those darn cows and then again in the evening. And what about all those vegetables they grow to put on our tables everyday to keep us fed and healthy. Why is it, no one ever takes a picture of these things and post in protest of all their toil and sweat. While we’re at it, lets just take a picture of a great pair of NIKES or other most wished for pair of shoes the kids want today. How many children are laboring to sew these shoes just so all the American kids can be fitted with these over priced shoes rather than a generic pair from Wal-Mart or other discount store? That stupid woman knows That HL is run by Christians. If she doesn’t like the stuff in their store, she needs to keep her butt out and butt out of their business.

Absolutely they need a job or SOMETHING. Maybe they could volunteer at a food bank, spend time for the elderly who never get visits, volunteer at school and help children who are having a hard time keeping up, join an organization that prepares food to deliver to the needy and disabled. You people spend time with your stupid signs outside a Christian company who serves as a guiding light to many and has been successful in the process. Is that all you can think of to do? You are disgusting examples of humanity and I think many are getting very tired of seeing it.

      September 18, 2017 at 1:11 pm

You’re right, Vic, and don’t forget sugar too. All those fields of sugar cane.

    • Ruth Ramondino

      September 18, 2017 at 3:29 pm

SUGAR must be abolished!!!! “Slavery in the United States was nothing compared to the intensity of Cuban slavery where slaves commonly spent as much as 20 hours a day harvesting and processing sugarcane. Cotton required about 34 percent of the labor time of the slaves. 2/3rds of the time of slaves on Southern cotton plantations was spent on activities which had nothing to do with the cotton crop. The slaves on Virginia tobacco farms had even easier lives.

In terms of the intensity of slavery, sugar > rice > coffee > cotton > tobacco. There was a night and day difference between being a slave on a sugar plantation and a cotton plantation.” (http://www.occidentaldissent.com/2012/10/13/slavery-myths/)

      September 18, 2017 at 12:59 am

My Granny and my Grandpa both picked cotton and so did my Dad when he was just a kid. No shame in it, just what poor white farmers did back in the day to make it. How stupid can some people be? It’s not a black thing or a white thing! It’s a necessity thing that you did just because you had to!

    • Judy

      September 18, 2017 at 1:23 am

Exactly! I bought a cotton branch there a month or so ago . I put in in a pretty vase and set it in my idyllic to remind me of my roots. I was raised on a farm in Texas and we picked our own cotton. And I am white! My parents also grew up picking cotton on their own family farms. No blacks, browns, or whatever was ever hired. People have gone nuts!

My mother and even my husband and his family picked cotton. What is wrong with this world? Just looking for something to bitch about. They need to get a life. Cotton is used in many decorations. They need their clothes made from briars instead of cotton.

    • Paula

      September 18, 2017 at 2:36 am

Exactly! My dear Grandmother picked cotton as her toddler was pulled along on the cotton bag.

    • Dorene

      September 18, 2017 at 2:41 am

Exactly. My whole family worked in the cotton fields and seeing it on a shelf didn’t bother me a bit.

    • Mary garrett

      September 18, 2017 at 3:58 am

I remember picking cotton myself, I didn’t get paid, we all got fed and clothed, does this make us slaves, I don’t think so, it is called making a living people. We kids all had to work as hard and sometimes harder than anyone else.but we were not slaves. Lots of people pic,ed cotton, not just blacks.

      • J. Porter

        September 18, 2017 at 5:21 am

So true. My mother in law picked cotton. She was in the field to set the pace. Without her there the field hands would slow down. It was important for them to get the crop out of the field asap. She also set the pace when the cotton was small and choppers were in the field. She was one hard working woman, you could not outdo her. Don’t try to tell me any of the young people complaining know anything about the subject, much less how to work. Blacks were not the only people in the fields. Black people are not the only people that were ever slaves. Have they ever heard or care about the Irish slave trade? Not everyone cries and bellyaches, get over it!!!

Agree 100%! My 99 year old grandmother has told me many stories about picking cotton as a child. She wasn’t a slave. She worked the fields to help the family make money. It’s completely ridiculous for someone to be offended by a replica of nature. Someone needs some mental counseling!

      • Bruce Younger

        September 21, 2017 at 7:25 pm

They would still be cotton pickers if it was not for automated farming equipment. They should take a look at their socks, cotton everywhere, and they are mostly white. Maybe no more white clothes can be worn, (save on clorox cost). Like ole Roy Clark sung – “I Have Never Picked Cotton”, oh well, me neither. But cotton is still grown in the south. Cotton created a lot of jobs in the cotton mills north and south.

    • Betty Edmonds

      September 18, 2017 at 5:45 am

I agree Kathleen. I think it is pretty and can also be educational to children who have no idea where cotton comes from. Probably a lot of adults too.

Its a very good subject to have with children. This is where your clothes originated. Stop with its all about you blacks. Youre ancesters were not the only slaves. Prove to us non blacks that hour ancesters were slaves. I mnow I wont get an answer from any blacks because you dont want to do research, that would consist in doing work & you wont get paid for it so… I willwait a little while tho.

  41. Carolyb

    September 18, 2017 at 1:06 am

Oh my people are becoming ridiculous! They just have to have something to complain about and bring race into it. Isn’t it funny that my Grandmother was white and she had to pick cotton as well as someone’s else’s grandmother who was black. Come on stop making a racist issue out of everything that has to do with history. You complainers are taking our country and all that has been accomplished with racism backwards instead of moving forward and that’s so unfair to all races. Why would anyone want to go back into history and dig up the wrong done. You complainers and protesters, whites and blacks, are showing your ignorance and making a mockery of the people who fought to move us forward away from color of skin and see each other’s hearts. Stop all this insane hate and start loving each other instead.

My grandparents chopped cotton.. my mother chopped cotton in the 5o’s. My cousins chopped cotton in the 70’s and 80’s. They worked in the field chopping cotton beside hispanics. They chopped cotton beside African Americans. They all had jobs. The last thing I would think about seeing this decoration is slavery. Cotton production hasn’t been fueled by slavery in over 100 years. But guess what- they’re still growing cotton. Get over it.

Yes, long ago without the machinery we have today, helpers went to the fields to gather the cotton. What a service to mankind! To have a part at that time to help in the progress of a nation.

Are You Kidding? Read your history books. The Black kings sold slaves to the Europeans. It doesn’t make it right but point the finger at the original slave owners. They were black Kings. I guess some people don’t want to know the truth. Using this reasoning then these people should not eat any vegetables picked by slaves or wear cotton clothes. This World is going nuts.God Help Us All!

This is so stupid. I have never been African American or a slave but I have picked a lot of cotton in my life. Alabama where I am from used to be known as the “Cotton State” This was farming country and everyone grew cotton and it had to be picked by hand there was no machinery back then to harvest it. I never saw an African American pick cotton on our farm or surrounding farms. Like I said this is just plain stupid.

When I was a little girl in the 1st grade in Rayne,LA my family sharecropped cotton and different other things. My grandfather, aunt, uncles, mother and my father picked cotton. When the bus dropped me off my grandfather was at the house to pick me up on the tractor and take me to the field to meet my parents. So enough with the fuss about cotton branches being in Hobby Lobby I have them in my home to show my great-granddaughter were her cotton dresses came from. You are a bunch of stupid jackasses no I take that back jackasses are smarter than you. Leave Hobby Lobby the hell along.

My sweet sister-in-law lived on a farm in Oklahoma and her family was sharecroppers. She spoke of working in the fields of cotton back when she was young. She actually picked cotton and was a very hard worker, and she was white. So should white people be offended. I think the decoration is pretty. It is a reminder of God’s handiwork.

Cotton plants are a unique item. Beautiful materials for clothing are made from this plant. It was put here by our creator and is an organized and truly worthy plant. Working on a farm is a very satisfying occupation.

People are going crazy! How stupid can some folks be to feel a cotton plant is offensive. It would be offensive if it were shoved where the sun don’t shine these idiot’s should have done to them. Hobby Lobby is a great business and it seems like good businesses bother people who are not too smart and they find it offensive. I shop at hobby lobby because of the selection they offer, but mainly because they are closed on Sunday’s to allow their employee’s a day to worship and have time with their family. When driving from Tennessee to Mississippi, I stopped my car and got out and cut a stalk of cotton that I now have as a flower arrangement in my home in Texas. Does this lady think that cotton was the only thing slaves picked. What about farm vegetables. Does she want the grocery stores and farmers markers to remove all of the fresh vegetables–and canned–and frozen. She has a lots to learn.

    • Fedup

      September 18, 2017 at 10:10 pm

    • shirley

      September 19, 2017 at 2:38 am

my husband was raised in northern Mississippi, and he picked cotton when younger I guess the woman complaining must think they don’t pick cotton now a days. Is this cotton what is left over from the slave days or what. He even bought our grand kids little bales of cotton when he was driving a truck. Everyone is right, I don’t think there is a sane liberal on the planet. If they’d all do a little thinking on their own instead of looking for problems with others, they might see that some of us on the right side can figure things out all by ourselves instead of waiting for their puppet masters telling them what to think and do

    • Holly

      September 20, 2017 at 6:44 pm

I did the same thing! Saw a field of beautiful cotton growing and was so entranced I picked some to keep forever’! And I’m a “libtard” or whatever you are calling democrats these days! Never occurred to me about who was picking it…

  88. Kathy

    September 18, 2017 at 3:07 am

My mom’s family and my in law’s family all picked cotton in order to be able to put food on the table. My husband grew a little cotton the last two years to show our children and grandchildren how it grows. We are using it as decoration in our home. It’s a part of our past, we wear clothes made from cotton and it will be a plant of the future. Every day we are reminded of things that happened to us or our family in the past that caused pain or made life almost unbareble, but we should be so thankful for our ancestors and what they endured so we could live with the freedom we have today. Some people are just looking for ways to be in the public eye and to cause problems for other people. Too much political correctness and too many crybabies.

Okay,Hobby Lobby. People are reaching for things to yell and be seen. I’m sorry you are being targeted. You know it’s deeper than the cotton. You are being targeted for religious beliefs. I’m sure you know how frustrating that can be. If you want to avoid the chatter from the left, just pull everything made of cotton from your store and they should be happy, right? Bet they forgot that toilet paper and tissue are made from cotton. I have no idea how they will wipe away the tears from your lack of sensitivity. Really, ignore the ignorant outcry and stand on your principles. God bless you.

I grew up in west Texas. Lubbock to be exact. Cotton picking goes on out there all of the time. So does this mean that I’m suppose to be offended? In west Texas it doesn’t matter if you are black or white. It doesn’t matter if you are 16 or 66. If you need a job and want to make money then you can earn it the cotton picking way. No really people needs to get over themselves and get their fillings off of their shoulders. Stop looking for ways to get yourself in the lime light. I’ve never seen so many people that has nothing better to do then to start trouble over nothing

  104. Wanda

    September 18, 2017 at 4:18 am

This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard of. What’s clear to me is this woman has no taste or style for interior or any design. People have been using cotton in their items of decor for decades. You need to get rid of everything in your home that is cotton. I guess those of us who collected Robert Ruckers paintings of the south with blacks in the fields picking cotton, will be asked to destroy them. It’s beautiful art and history. My brothers and I with friends picked cotton in order to make spending money. There were no slaves picking cotton only blacks and whites working for money. I resent some idiot causing trouble for Hobby Lobby and using cotton to scream racism. Racism is having all of our history taken down and destroyed or put in buildings not to be seen. Well maybe I’m tired of seeing Martin Luth Kings statue, who I had always admired, President Obama and others including street names that are highly offensive bc of its underlying tone of racism! Maybe they should be removed! Why can’t we just all get along and leave history so we can look back on it and learn from our mistakes. God created man of all colors to be equal. God loves all men and God never creates anything unworthy of love and respect.

You libtards are crazy!!! Cotton in a jar is wrong!!! What’s wrong with you people? You use cotton to make Qtips, clothes, and a lot of other things. What do you want? To start wearing fog leaves again or what? I can’t believe that you snowflakes are worried about cotton in a jar. Lmao. Well here’s a history lesson for you. My family picked cotton. Me, my cousins, my Dad, my Aunts and Uncles and my grandparents. We are white Americans. Not black. Back in those days everybody plowed the fields, planted cotton and then picked it. Slaves and black people weren’t the only ones to work the fields. And blacks weren’t the only slaves. We have slaves even today. Why don’t you people start trying to help the slaves that we have now and stop worrying about the ones in the past? You would rather raise hell over cotton in a jar than try to help the people that are enslaved today. That’s kind of a double standard don’t you think? You people are really nuts. Go get a history book and read it.

If a cotton decoration offends you, go home & sit in the dark. My mother picked cotton when she was young until her fingers bled. Was sh a slave ? Maybe, she had a habit of getting hungry & picking cotton was one way of making money. No my mother wasn’t any race except Caucasian, descendant of German, English, & Indian heritage maybe with a little Irish thrown in for good measure. You can find something offensive about anything & everything if you look hard enough. This is a very ridiculous protest especially with so many without jobs, homes & food!! Some people need to get a life!!!

~Such an EXCELLENT point Cindy :)! The labor slavery that exists today is bad enough, but the sex slave trade is horrendous and very much alive & booming …And if the fact that sex slavery is THRIVING is not disturbing enough for you, think about this- A lot of these slaves are children! Wouldn’t one’s time be spent a lot better fighting this!? It is unbelievable …unfathomable that these people don’t! I mean, if you have that much time & energy, and that much passion & thirst for justice, why not fight modern day slavery which is something you can actually do something about …some things that you can actually PREVENT …lives that can be saved …situations where these people & children can come out as survivors, not as victims?

Seriously, this BS has gone too far. My Dad was the eldest of 13 children, he picked cotton since he was 5 years old (In the 1940’s). When my children were little we picked cotton for the first time, it was beautiful & educational. (We are White). That cotton in a jar is Beautiful, Awesome! You people go around looking for ANYTHING to protest over, to get your moment of stupidity fame. Let it go & Get a HOBBY!!! LOL

This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen to date. Are these people totally crazy? I guess they wouldn’t want to come to my house at Christmas, as I have beautiful wreaths I have made with the cotton and decorate my mantle in a winter scene, using the cotton as the base and background. It is a beautiful item to decorate with, and means absolutely nothing at all about anything, other than it is cotton; a wonderful creation of our heavenly father. How do masses of people become so insane? I am a psychologist and I should understand better, but some things are just beyond understanding.

If someone is offended by cotton stocks, they better keep their asses out of the south because they raise the plant down here. And the stuff is all over the place. Again, one person who is offended seems to think they have priority over millions of people and of course, the liberals just bend their skinny frames with the hot wind. I am offended by liberals but cannot seem to figure out how to get rid of them. They are like roaches, the more you step on, the more seems to crawl out of the walls.

CAN you imagine this….my mother and my mother in law and their families picked cotton .raw cotton and they aren’t black. who came up with this idea. I have had raw cotton in a vase before and loved it and never thought of a slave. wow…okay lets see…they picked tobacco and other plants lets not eat them or smoke it. jerks. my mother worked in rice fields. oh every time someone says poor folks….that is code for blacks …no….my mothers family and mom in laws family were dirt poor….so I will SUPPORT HOBBY LOBBY as much as I want to….oh so growing cotton is racist….then give up your cotton clothes….STOP THE MADDNESS….IM SICK OF IT.

A friend of mine was traveling thru Mississippi and brought back a bug bunch of NATURAL cotton for me. I put it in a large basket over my fireplace. It’s beautiful!
So STHU LIBTARDS! IT’S A PLANT for goodness sake! Libtard women, do you have a problem using cotton to remove your nail polish, Q-TIPS to put on make-up, or cotton Swipes to remove make-up? Do you use cotton towels, wear cotton clothing, sleep on cotton sheets? If so, again, STHU! Get the message, IDIOT’S!?

  124. Deborah

    September 18, 2017 at 8:39 am

This has nothing to do with cotton. It has to do with anything that the slaves had to do while they were slaves. Share croppers were poorer than slaves and never had enough food or any thing else. They say their people didn’t choose to come to America. Well most of the first Americans were sent here as punishment/jail and when they got here they had to fend for themselves.

These people don’t support really support any wrong done they just want to have their 15 minutes and hope to get money for it.

True Americans don’t see race or etc. They see people who are trying to make something of themselves vs those who want it for free. We see Good vs Evil.

I am ashamed of those people for my uncle died in WWII to give them the right to do these things.

Hobby Lobby continue to stand up for your believes. You have the same rights that they have.

If a small cotton display bothers her so much, she better not be using anything made with cotton. That includes jeans, blouses, t-shirts, most underwear. She needs to get rid of her curtains, her bedding, her mattresses, and her living room furniture because those are stuffed with cotton and most are covered with cotton material. She can’t use towels to dry off with OR wash cloths. She also will need to get rid of paper towels, toilet paper, tampons, pads, Q-tips, kleenexes, etc. And she better not even think of driving her car or getting in a motor vehicle! Not only are some of the seats covered with material made with cotton but did you know those seats have cotton stuffing in some of them? The list goes on and on. Almost everything you use in everyday life has *gasp* cotton involved somehow.
    What a moron!!!!!!

~This makes me angry because my Dad, along with all my aunts & uncles picked cotton- They only got to go to school up to the 2nd or 3rd grade, then they had to stay in the cotton fields picking cotton ALL DAY just in order to eat, live & survive, there was no choice about it …School was a luxury, as were shoes & most other things. They, my Dad, aunts & uncles, WERE/ARE ALL WHITE BY THE WAY, and something tells me that they could ALL walk past this decoration that you’re so outraged about in a store and not only NOT get offended, but NOT give it a 2nd thought. WE are the ones who should be angry …AT YOU, Daniell Rider, for being SO ridiculous …COTTON-PICKING RIDICULOUS as others have said, that is!

This is getting beyond crazy!!! As a person that makes floral arrangements for deceased members of our family and close family friends, there are times I have used things like this to HONOR their hard work and pride in their lifetime of hard work as a farmer. You show me ONE field in the recent past that is HAND picked!!! My mother had to help hand pick their family farm when she was young so I guess that make her a slave also? She slaved for her grandparents! What should be my mother’s revolt about having to pick cotton for her grandparents? What should be boycotted on her behalf, for her generation that grew up during the Depression?!!! Wake up unless you lived the life of a farmer/ rancher you will never understand!

They must really hate Muslims because according to the UN there are still 30 million slaves in the middle east.

The FIRST American documented slave owner was BLACK. The United States, with Great Britain, were the first to fight the slave trade in international waters. Irish slaves were considered inferior to African slaves. 1.3% of free whites owned slaves in America, while close to 26% of free blacks owned slaves. The castles on the coasts of Europe were there to defend against Muslim slave traders. The crusades were the response to 600 years of Islamic invasions into Europe looking for territory and Slaves. There aren’t many descendents of African slaves because they were castrated in the desert outside the Ottoman empire with a 90% death rate.

I get to talk shit about very brief American slavery because I am from a Slavic nation, from which the word SLAVery originated because we were a prime source of slaves for the Middle East.

I want my oil reparation money for 1,000 years of Islamic slavery. Thank you America for being the first to denounce and combat slavery. I will gladly display my celebratory “Freedom Cotton“ in honor of American Exceptionalism in fighting against slavery here and abroad.

Someone please tell the Muslims that slavery is wrong and also a collective “fuck you” from my ancestors who finally kicked you slave trading scum out.

Too bad the rest of Europe and America is lying to their own people about real, documented, actual history.

There is a maniacal, deep-rooted hatred (by these brain dead liberals) for Hobby Lobby because of their Christian beliefs. I am not a Christian, and every time I hear about one of these protests I march right over to Hobby Lobby to buy something. Today I will be buying a bunch of those cotton plants. I love shopping in Hobby Lobby because of their great selection of merchandise and their helpful and friendly personnel. Perhaps
the protestors, who have way too much time on their hands, should go into Hobby Lobby, observe the people who work there, and learn some lessons in how to behave like a human being. Surely their parents forgot to teach them how. Got to run now…before the cotton plants sell out!

My husband grandmother was a cotton picker an she was white, an to get technical about it the American Indians taught the Piligrims to grow what they needed to survive, an where are the American Indians now, living on Reservations through out the United States, many American Indians were slaughtered their women an Children raped an so on, an now people are bitching about a harmless decoration but yet they don’t bitch about wearing clothes that are made with cotton that they buy or the cotton sheets they sleep on nope instead someone with no life who wants their time in the spot light has to bitch about a decoration that has in fact been around way before the dawn of slavery.

I dont know who started this fiasco but I agree with the above comments. We all picked and chopped (or the majority of us) and never thought about being a slave. I didnt pick much cotton but I chopped a bunch because the school I went to did not have split term. I got paid $3.oo per DAY for doing that and can you believe it IM WHITE. I did this to buy my school clothes for the next term. The person who started this should get a job and get off welfare and food stamps or keep your thought to yourself and shut your uneducated mouth Eventhough I dont know you I love you because God told me I had to but He didnt say I had to even like your ways.

Maybe the cotton is evil on many levels.
It makes you sweat when working the fields, it pricks your fingers when picking it and worst of all it is white.
But wait a moment ,if we didn’t have cotton plantations we would not have the needs to bring in slaves and all those now complaining about cotton as a home decoration would be doing so from Africa in some backwater region with little food, malaria needing nets to sleep etc, etc.
So maybe because of cotton those descendants of slaves would not be living in a country where all have the right to bitch and complain against whatever they desire.

There seems to be only one explanation to this pathetic complaint…..Hobby Lobby has made it know that they have a Christian foundation. Not supporting “abortion”. THIS is why they are targeted by the “foaming at the mouth” crew. No sense trying to make sense out of non-sense!

Raw cotton makes wonderful decor the only people who sit there and say it’s all about slavery are the people who just wants to be the one who causes drama! Slavery sucked but don’t think that only African-Americans were the only slaves Irish slaves were treated worse the were “sold” for less then Africanamerican slaves aswell maybe us the people of Irish decent should raise as much hell to prove what this actually does… nothing but annoy people

Oh come on!!! SERIOUSLY!? This is just ridiculous. A Cotton plant in a jar on a shelf in a store like hobby lobby is in no way promoting slavery! There is not even one person alive today that was an American slave. Stop being spoiled children about everything. If you don’t like it, do what your parents, grandparents, and great grandparents did….move on, don’t look at it, don’t buy it.

Danniel Rider, you are a monger. A rumor monger, a whoremonger, a scoffer, and a race baiter. What right do you have to be offended by anything to do with slavery? You’ve never been a slave. What right do you have to be offended? Just because you’re black? There are so many people who are negroes who have worked hard, succeeded, and have supported others, regardless of the color. For you to foment over the natural resource and use it as a springboard to stir up divisions between people who have learned to live in peace with eachother is so anathema to the common good. For what reason do you bother? I fear you are a sad person with no good outlook on life. For that I’m sorry for you. Find something constructive to focus upon. Don’t make life worthless. Good luck to you.

I have never heard anything so stupid in my life. Cotton is gonna hurt someone’s feelings? As a white person I had to pick cotton every year to help buy my school clothes. Both me and my sister hired out to pick cotton, we had no choice that’s what our parents said we were to do and we did it. Seeing cotton as a decorations does not offend me I thought it was nice and would not mind having one. I say leave it alone. Don’t take it out of the store.

This is the most insane thing I have ever heard of. I think they are pretty and I use them as decor in my home. It brings me comfort. During the Great Depression in Oklahoma, probably the majority of white people picked cotton. My parents and grandparents picked cotton. It was a job and they did it to survive and feed their families. I see nothing offensive about it. I’m very proud of my heritage and my hard working family. The Blacks do not have a monopoly on hard working ancestors. And the Blacks and whites nowadays would not dream of doing this kind of back breaking work. So get over it. We are all getting tired of this CRAP.

    September 19, 2017 at 12:04 am

For those who are offended by this decoration you all sure are some idiots. Today’s cotton, and the cotton of the last 75 years has not been a slave thing. Today’s cotton is harvested by machines. All of this crap about people getting offended over shit that happened over 100 years ago needs to stop. Y’all are wrecking this country by attacking its HISTORY. Y’all do know the meaning of HISTORY right? Meaning it is something that happened in the past, but is NO LONGER being done. The point of the history of this country is to show the evils we have over come and have abolished. Removing statues or monuments to that is wrong, and boycotting a company for selling raw cotton plants that I know are not 100 years old is just stupid and silly. Y’all need to grow up and stop acting like little kids who are being bullied on the playground. All of this stuff people are offended about is the PAST. Leave it in the past and stop dredging up old ills and issues. Stop tearing my country apart. Good day.

The people that make something out of nothing just to cause an issue for people to protest are ridiculous, find something productive to do with your time. Im sure Hobby Lobby didnt say “lets be heartless to our African American community by displaying raw cotton in a bottle and sell it!” If thats the case then pull all the cornstalks, gourds, indian corn, pumkins and all the other festive decor off the market because somewhere someone is gonna be offended and you can go clear back to Columbus to find someone to offend.

Do they have values or just starting trouble because they don’t have a job or they think they will gain friends or become known as hero’s. Please do us a favor help the homeless or help Texas and Florida, work in a soup kitchen or something productive. I am white and I picked potatos and put them in a burlap bag that I had to drag out of the fields. I was raised to work hard and I am a better person for it. If you are offended by this store because of what they have on their store shelf and don’t like their faith based values then please do us all a favor and shop else where. Seriously!?!? Can we please stop looking for things to be offended about?! Ridiculous

    September 19, 2017 at 12:43 pm

This just give new meaning to STUPID. It’s a plant. Most of our clothing is made out of it. It’s pretty. It is picked by machines, not slaves. No slave has touched in in over 150 years. Shut up and go away.

  274. John R.

    September 19, 2017 at 12:48 pm

With so many genuine problems in the world that deserve attention people choose this to be offended by?! I will say this, if you get all butt hurt over this decoration whether your black, white, yellow, or purple and you boycott and/or pickett hobby lobby then you have entirely to much time on your hands and your an idiot. How about focusing that effort on something that truly matters. People p**s me off with their ignorance.

      September 19, 2017 at 12:52 pm

For the record and for those of you making lib lab comments. I am a “lib lab” and those making comments like that are as narrow minded and ignorant as those people with the signs.

I bought one of these from HL for my 97 year old Mother…she loves it…it brings back memories of days gone by. It might not be the best memories but, it will certainly make her happy that those days are over. Oh yeah, one more thing, my Mother is white and raised in Missouri. They are a bunch of super-sensitive cry babies.

  276. Suzanne

    September 19, 2017 at 1:35 pm

Oh my goodness. This is utterly ridiculous. RIDICULOUS! Does everything offend them? If it does, then you should be angry at everything made or cared for or touched by white people. Go ahead, tear it all down. Make it exactly like you want. You can get rid of everything in America that “offends” you. This will make you so happy, or will it? This is part of history. Do you want to wipeout history? Sorry, it’s not going to change anything and you can’t change history. So suck it up. Do you think you were the only people who came to America, only to find out it was not as glorious as they thought? Do a little reading and studying. Read and study about the Irish immigrants, the Chinese and Japanese immigrants. Read about the Indigenous people. It’s 2017 and this hatred and militant behavior should be over. But no, there are still Americas who harbor so much hate in their hearts and teach it to all of their people. If that is so then how can we heal “broken” America? No one can answer that question without being all about themselves! The nation needs God (my own perspective) or needs to get past themselves and learn to live with what we have at hand. The hearts and brains of ALL people are the same color.

Daniell Rider, sit down and shut up. Permanently.

I’m 60, white and I helped my Pap-Paw pick cotton. I have a wreath in my house made from cotton from our fields. I’ll make sure I make a cotton wreath and put it on your grave when you nasty away.

    September 19, 2017 at 2:10 pm

Generations of my white ancestors picked cotton in Alabama and Mississippi. Where’s my check? Where’s my free stuff?

  279. AmazedHuman

    September 19, 2017 at 2:20 pm

You seriously can not make up stupidity such as this, can you? Any rational person would appreciate the creativity and chic. Perhaps those idiots carrying around signs and behaving like total fools ought to go get a life…perhaps get a job and contribute to the country rather than being a detriment. That’s an idea.

OK so NO ONE can wear any clothing anymore that is made from cotton. NO shoes with any cotton in the fabric, No Blankets, No bed sheet, no pillows, no coats, no socks, no underwear… NO car seats, they have cotton batting in the upholstery No bath towels, no carpeting, NOTHING with cotton…. HOW STUPID IS THAT

    September 19, 2017 at 3:20 pm

My family picked cotton and they are Hispanic. Also alot of Hispanics picked different foods and you don’t see them complain about it. They would work all day and sometimes they have two or more jobs to progress and not sit there and whine for anything. As for people for think it’s offensive did you pick cotton or did you pick food stamps

  288. AMERICAN

    September 19, 2017 at 3:33 pm

Um, I think I’m more offended by the drug traffickers, prostitutes, porn stores, etc. This country needs to wake up and worry about what’s happening to it NOW not what happened 150 years ago.

  289. Carol

    September 19, 2017 at 3:53 pm

What a bunch of nuts. I HAve raw cotton in my house, I went and cut it from a cotton field down the road. If you all are so darn offended maybe you should take everything out of your homes that are made of cotton.

  290. Valerie Wallace

People have literally lost their cotton pickin’ minds!

  291. Carla

    September 19, 2017 at 4:19 pm

The media loves to start drama and riots. This is an old photo regarding abortions and birth control from the past.
As far as the cotton decor. My mother’s family picked cotton everyday until their fingers bled! We are Irish and German descent, so yes we are white! And they still picked cotton for a living and guess what? We decorate and wear cotton daily!

  292. Sarah

    September 19, 2017 at 4:30 pm

Well they better not watch PLACES IN THE HEART, a film set during the Depression where a poor white widow, helped by a homeless black man and a blind white man, works desperately to plant and harvest COTTON PLANTS so that she and her orphan children would not be thrown off their family farm. There are scenes showing how grueling it was to work from sunrise to sunset in the blazing sun, getting your hands torn up by the plant thorns and pain in your back/knees from hours bent over. This was REALITY for men, women and children in the South when cotton could only be harvested by hand. I wonder how much these “protestors” know about hard manual labor. No doubt they would rather sit on their air-conditioned butts than work a difficult job to keep the wolf from the door. This is history and no amount of hand-wringing is going to change it. People who did this went on to fight WW II. This is what the American character was all about, not whining about non-existing issues in their lives today. GET A JOB.

  293. John

    September 19, 2017 at 4:40 pm

My wife and her family picked cotton every year growing up. They are white. I doubt there are very many blacks today who picked cotton. While slavery was wrong, they did get “paid” with food and lodging. This is just ridiculous and the only ones complaining are just trying start a race war. Thanks Obama and Soros.

  296. Phyllis

    September 19, 2017 at 5:52 pm

Does anyone understand that cotton still grows and is still being harvested? This boycott is ridiculous! The left has completely lost all reason and all sense. Thank God I am American with Italian Catholic roots less than 100 years old in this country. Don’t blame me for slavery or any other WASPy messes. Me and my bloodline are innocent and I can prove it.

  297. shannon

    September 19, 2017 at 6:06 pm

In this picture are a bunch of white people…I am just wondering if they got paid to do this? Why else would they be so upset at such a thing unless they are being paid or an atheist? We have heard the cry from blacks about their long dead ancestors being slaves. A black guy today said he thinks they are owed a check for 300 years of all the work they did…absurd is an understatement. They are getting plenty of food stamps, free housing, healthcare, and college education if they will make an effort to take it to counter any IOU’s that they think they are owed.

  298. Denise

    September 19, 2017 at 6:19 pm

    September 19, 2017 at 8:15 pm

Ok, so are these idiots ok with a cross in a jar of urine but not with a natural plant as art? Fake plant or real, if you support this idiocracy. Please leave the planet Earth to a more over sensative one. These people are reading into something that doesn’t really exist. BTW you crazies, didn’t you learn anything about the protests against Chic-fil-a? Your protests gave them record sales and support from people with true sensativity. Go God! The real one that is! Oh Crap! I need to go shopping at Hobby Lobby! I’ll grab a Chic-fil-a sandwich on the way.

I’m wondering if this is all b.s. A woman in the picture is holding a sign that says,”Keep your Theology off our Biology”. This is more likely a picture of people picketing because Hobby Lobby wouldn’t add contraceptives to their employees health insurance.

  307. Cindy

Cotton is beautiful. I plan on having my daughter’s senior pics made in a cotton field. Has the world lost its I.Q?????

Will this new epiphany make cotton candy a racist treat?

  310. Diane

    September 19, 2017 at 11:43 pm

I cannot believe some people have such a boring life that they look for things to gripe about. Why not find something worthwhile to do with your time like helping others instead of finding fault with something as ridiculous as “raw cotton” By the way what is the shirt you are wearing made of?

  311. Hope Henderson

    September 20, 2017 at 1:33 am

Absolutely ridiculous!!! I will continue to shop at Hobby Lobby and actually like the decor.

  312. Betty Notzon

    September 20, 2017 at 2:36 am

I think that there are far more important things to get in a stew about. There’s starvation and racial purges in South Sudan, the earthquake in Mexico, all the hurricanes battering the Caribbean. That’s just for starters. Getting exercised about such essentially vapid and silly matters just distract people from far more important matters.

  313. Jeff Fitzgerald

    September 20, 2017 at 2:45 am

Daniell, the spelling of your first name deeply offends me as the last three letters are “ell”. Just like the word hELL”. You’d better hope you and I cross paths so I can save you from the recklessness of your obviously ill-equipped parents and splash some holy water on you! I suspect your stupidity is a generational curse but I could be wrong. You’re an absolute embarrassment to existence in 2017 and it’s okay because I’m embarrassed FOR you. Snowflake.

  314. Suzanne

    September 20, 2017 at 3:28 am

Give me a break! My ex-mother-in-law picked cotton in Arkansas with her family when she was younger & they were Caucasian. How is this racist?!

  315. Tiffany

    September 20, 2017 at 3:45 am

I’m so sick of these soft people being offended at EVERYTHING. Too many people are soft these days. Too many get offended at the drop of a hat. Get over yourself! So what does this woman wear, exactly? Does she own cotton shirts, underwear or jeans? I’m sure she does. Did those same “slaves” pick that cotton to make your clothes? How ridiculous. Some people just have to stir the pot on racism because apparently they aren’t busy enough. Go get a job or something, idiot.

  316. Sharon

    September 20, 2017 at 3:55 am

Next it will be the cotton in the aspirin bottles please get over yourself. White people picked cotton to.

  317. Julia

    September 20, 2017 at 4:13 am

My daddy picked cotton and bundled it…in Missouri. Since he died in January ~ it makes me think of my roots…picking cotton, no electricity, poor. And, oh my, the lives they lived…in the projects, bouncing a ball as something free to do. He was a poor white boy…able to attend college on a full-ride scholarship ~ from basketball. That poor white, cotton-picking man (my daddy) never complained, but thanked God for blessing him with a single, white, poor, cotton -picking mama. Think I just may go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow, and get me a display of white cotton…after all, my ancestors pick that stuff…to put food on their wobbly, ugly, and junky table. THANK YOU JESUS, for cotton and the people plucking it in those hot Missouri fields!!! <3

    September 20, 2017 at 5:29 am

Well I for one are glad this came up, cause now I know where to purchase this… I wasn’t able to find it until I saw this posting by a sad hateful lady…

  319. Janet

    September 20, 2017 at 6:49 am

OMG! Is that why the lady behind me at the grocery store looked me upside down because I was wearing a all white cotton dress and beautiful at that? My best girlfriend was with me and said that lady is a hater and always will be. As we carried on with our business my African girlfriend said her all White cotton pant suit made her fill like a million bucks and no hater would ever make her see any different! All you jealous haters go home take off your clothes and stand in the dark. See if you like your self any better! Lol

I love hobby lobby running back to get me a vase just because I can.

  320. S

    September 20, 2017 at 3:29 pm

I am a white blonde lady and I picked cotton when I was a child. My mother and brother also picked it didn’t pay much. But it was a little. This is not a black thing. How sad. They paid us by how much we could get in our cotton sacks. Mine was quite small. It mothwrs and my brothers were huge.

Why didn’t you post how many Unlikes there were??? Appears that Conservative Fighters is on the Lib side. Didn’t have any problem posting how many likes she got.

  323. Russell

    September 20, 2017 at 3:33 pm

Unbelievable! Let’s, by all means, find one more thing to complain about even though slavery ended 150 years ago. These people are nothing more than attention whores that want their 15 minutes of “fame” and want to force peple to give in to their demands. Stop trying to change history…instead, be glad that we, as a Nation, have learned from the past. Americans today don’t own slaves and no one today is owned for the sole purpose of picking cotten.

  324. Kimberly Williams

    September 20, 2017 at 4:07 pm

My hell. Do these people have nothing better to do with their lives?? Get a job. If you find it offensive don’t buy it. Quit dictating what stores can provide for people who may like it. I am sooooo sick of people making things racial that wasn’t meant to be. GET A LIFE WOMAN.

  325. Wendy

    September 20, 2017 at 4:35 pm

This girl needs to get a life and stop acting stupid. Talking about cotton and slaves. It’s 2017. No slaves here. When there were slaves she wasn’t even born yet. Talk about something you actually know something about. Too many people getting offended over stupid things.

  326. K Carroll

    September 20, 2017 at 5:42 pm

These people have too much time on their hands. If they had a job they wouldn’t have time to boycott asinine stuff. I dont have time to go boycott everything I don’t like because I work. Seems like people are really reaching for stuff to bitch about. Its a damn natural plant. They dont mind using cotton everyday. I thought they were ugly anyway and wouldnt have a cotton plant for decoration but that’s me. I’d rather boycott because they’re trying to sell me something so ugly for my house and probably not cheap. Funny part is theres not one black person boycotting in the pic. Are white people trying to get brownie points or something? Can I boycott that I have to pay bills?

  327. DiMingo

    September 20, 2017 at 6:24 pm

Just goes to show what an uneducated child will come up with. Her fifteen minutes of fame are up.

  328. Regina Hoover

    September 20, 2017 at 7:07 pm

What they should be offended by is the fact that cotton is not touched by human hands anymore it is picked by a machine whose starting cost is about half a million dollars. Hows is that……they have a cotton-picker used for 4 weeks out of the year that cost 500 thousand dollars and if it is a large farm they may have multiple cotton pickers. Maybe the machines are offended? You find me one previous slave that is alive today that actually picked cotton while in chattel and then they can rail against a decorative stalk of cotton and the store that sells it. Otherwise, What an idiot!!!!!!!! Everyone knows that slavery was evil. Duh!!! However in the year of 2017 it is not applicable.

  329. Cottoneyed Joe

    September 20, 2017 at 7:18 pm

Danielle Rider has gotten her 15 minutes of fame (shame)! Its no more than a desperate cry for attention so here’s to you Danielle! Cotton plants have been a decor for years! I guess this is the year you reached your breaking point.

  330. Max

    September 20, 2017 at 11:26 pm

Someone told me this picture was from 2014 when they didn’t want to cover birth control on the employees insurance. .. come on people.

  331. Hannah

    September 21, 2017 at 12:09 am

Cotton is a natural product and I use it in my property stagings. I don’t support “HL” for their religious beliefs and how they treat their employees, but think that the hoopla about using natural cotton in their displays is going a bit too far. Maybe we can all tone it down a bit…

  332. Kathy Smearman

    September 21, 2017 at 12:55 am

Can we just say – IDIOTS! Anything for attention. They need to strip off all their clothing, stop using tampons or pads (if that gender), stop sleeping on sheets (I hear hay is the way to go, but wait – wasn’t that animal abuse at one time?), no bandaids if the poor whiner gets hurt, no towels, carpet, qtips and the list goes on and on and on. GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE — GET A LIFE!!!

  333. Cathie

    September 21, 2017 at 12:55 am

This world is going bonkers. I saw these decorations and not once did I consider them anything but beautiful mixed with red berries. Some people really need to get a life.

  334. Dara

    September 21, 2017 at 2:16 am

There is NO ONE alive that is a slave and there is NO ONE alive that owns one, now grow up and get the hell over this shit. Sick of hearing about how oppressed these people are

  335. Janene McGuire

    September 21, 2017 at 3:06 am

I’m looking for a slave that picked this cotton. God grew it and then it went to the cotton gin. These people are idots. My Grandmother picked cotton at the age of 9 and she bought a book called The Little Lame Prince which I still have. My Mother-in-Law picked cotton and put my husband on a pallet under a tree while she picked. They are all white. How shameful. I am not going to be embarrassed because I am white. I would suggest if cotton is offensive you go buy wool and shear the wool off the sheep and see how you like wearomg it in the Summer or quit using oil, gasoline and all products made with oil because you think it polluting the earth or go naked as I don’t care.

  336. Pat Candle

    September 21, 2017 at 6:36 am

  341. Mjl61

    September 22, 2017 at 2:36 pm

I’ll take some raw cotton in a vase over an album cover of a white preschooler with a noose around his neck any day. (Album covers are referred to as “art”, remember? Kind of the way a crucifix in a glass of urine is.)

  342. kurt lane

    September 22, 2017 at 6:09 pm

Warning offensive language is about to be used! is this what this fucking world has come to,we got starving and homeless veterans, we got criminals everywhere, people who get away with murder, crooked cops…ect, but yet were rioting over a fucking decoration, ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW, FIRST FUCKING STATUES, NOW FUCKING DECORATION, HOLY FUCKING SHIT PUT A BULLET IN MY FUCKING HEAD PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, SO I DONT HAVE TO READ THIS DUMB FUCKING SHIT NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    September 22, 2017 at 8:10 pm

This person (I won’t say “lady” because I don’t want to insult any normal, intelligent women) is only looking for her 15 minutes of fame. May God be with any store that she purchases a bottle of aspirin from when she has to pick that was of cotton out to get to the pills.

  345. Jamie R.

    September 22, 2017 at 11:08 pm

I saw some on the shelf and thought it pretty – NEVER EVER EVER associated it with slaves. For god sakes woman… pull up your big girl panties and have some shutthehellup for breakfast.

  346. Kanne

    September 22, 2017 at 11:57 pm

I think raw cotten is really neat to look at. Plants with cute little white fluffs….very cool, even more so because it can be made into so many things.

  347. Roberta

    September 23, 2017 at 3:43 am

So does this mean she buys NOTHING that has cotton in it such as clothing bath towels etc-If she does than what a hypocrite
