On Friday afternoon, after the GOP had yielded to Democratic pressure and agreed to extend the confirmation process for Judge Brett Kavanaugh one week to allow for a further FBI investigation, there were plenty of conservatives who surmised that the Democrats and their cohorts would not ultimately settle for that agreement, but move the goalposts even farther away so they could delay the confirmation as far as they possibly could.
If you think Dems are going to hold on a one week FBI investigation deadline you're absolutely bananas.

Here’s how this plays out
A week long investigation
Nothin is found.
DEMS: How are we supposed to get to the bottom of this in one week. We must let the investigation go indefinitely.

The FBI investigated Clarence Thomas, every Democrat still believes he is guilty of sexual assault.
They don’t want the truth, they want the seat.

Bingo. From the attorney representing Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who testified against Judge Kavanaugh at the hearings:
Dr. Ford’s lawyer, Debra S. Katz, on FBI probe: "No artificial limits as to time or scope should be imposed on this investigation."

Conservatives were not in the least surprised by the duplicity that the opposition to Kavanaugh had practiced:
