U.S. first lady Melania Trump said during an exclusive interview that her “Be Best” campaign was partly started because of others bullying her.
Trump said she is one of the most bullied people in the world during the interview — sparking a lot of outrage from people.
Her campaign seeks to raise awareness of cyberbullying.
“I could say that I’m the most bullied person on the world.”
She said that she is “one of them, if you really see what people [are] saying about me.”
She added, “We need to educate the children of social-emotional behavior … so when they grow up, they know how to deal with those issues.”

The first lady has received criticism over many aspects of her life, here are a few things that have resulted in criticism.
Her outfit during her first solo trip to African countries:
Every time I see a picture of Melania Trump in this outfit she reminds me of a female version of Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit pic.twitter.com/GfsQcUJ6Ll

Melania Trump wearing a pith helmet on her trip to "Africa" is more than a silly sartorial choice. It's a reflection of her outdated understanding of Africa. (Also, she was photographed in safari attire multiple times on this trip.) #FLOTUSinAfricaBingo https://t.co/aCnkOnPBF8

During her recent trip to four countries in Africa, Trump was able to share her “Be Best” campaign on child welfare as she visited hospitals, schools, and spent time at an orphanage — to empower the children through education.
The criticism doesn’t even stop when it comes to a gown:

The yellow dress was a nod to Beauty and the Beast. Imprisoned in a castle with a true Beast! But I don't care. Do you?

Trump also received criticism on her marriage:
With every passing day Melania proves their marriage isn’t a sham. She is fully complicit. She’s a birther. They’re a match made in hell.
She is not to be pitied. https://t.co/9sf6tWpw9q

Melania Trump was referencing her marriage when she claimed to be the most bullied woman on earth.

I think Omarosa was right: Melania is trapped in her marriage to a buffoon, and can only strike Trump passive-aggressively. She does this to irritate him!

The aggressive behavior by others directed at Trump can be seen differently than other levels of bullying, but it is still considered bullying, just in a different form.
There was also criticism following Trump’s statement about being one of the most bullied people in the world.
One twitter user aimed to “educate” the first lady on what bullying means.
So @FLOTUS thinks she’s the MOST BULLIED person in the world. Having helped countless folks deal with despicable bullies, suicidal thoughts, depression, pain, If you can share in this thread your experience, maybe we can educate her on this very real epidemic. Use hashtag #MyPain
— tara strong (@tarastrong) October 11, 2018
People shared some of their #MyPain experiences:
I have been bullied in middle and high school. I was shoved in lockers and repeatedly made fun of. #MyPain
— Lynn Loud (@LynnLoud10) October 11, 2018
I've been bullied so much in my youth that when there are no bullies around I bully myself because that is what feels normal to me. #MyPain is all I know and the only actions I take in life are to try and make that pain not hurt as much. It's easier to suffer. How's that @FLOTUS

Even though the first lady receives a lot of criticism on social media, her goal with her campaign is to encourage the children to be their best, using social media in positive and productive ways.
Trump’s “Be Best” campaign kicked off earlier this year and aims to teach children about major factors in today’s society and the importance of focusing on social, emotional, and physical health.
The three pillars of her campaign are: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
“It remains our generation’s moral imperative to take responsibility and help our children manage the many issues they are facing today, including encouraging positive social, emotional, and physical habits,” Trump said, according to the White House website.
