Mike Ditka Has Message For Anthem Protesters On 9/11 Anniversary

Mike Ditka, a former Chicago Bears football coach, has a powerful message for the players who protest the anthem on this day of remembrance for the U.S.

Ditka told TMZ that he believes it is disgraceful for players to sit during the anthem on the anniversary of 9/11, where many people died that day.

“People have a right to do what they want to do as long as they don’t break the law or hurt people,” he stated, saying that there would always be “malcontents.”

When asked if the players should pause the protest on 9/11, he said, “I’d like to see them put on hold every day. I mean there’s a time and place for everything. Before a football game is not the time and place for it. Period!”

The message he would like to send to the players who plan to protest during “The Star-Spangled Banner” on Monday, he said, “God bless America.”

Ditka has expressed his thoughts about Kaepernick last year saying he had no respect for the player. He also claimed that players who want to disrespect the flag will have no place on his team.

The coach has also expressed his support for President Trump and his views on former President Obama. When he was asked early this year about his thoughts on Trump winning the election, he said he would be surprised if anyone can damage the country as much as Obama did.
