The Oakland Raiders have arguably become more known for their national anthem protests than their on-field performance so far this season. Running back Marshawn Lynch has led the charge by sitting during the anthem and even wore an “Everybody vs. Trump” T-shirt before one of his team’s games.

During the national anthem before their game on Sept. 24, all eyes were on the players taking a knee in protest of police brutality and racial inequality, but one player was doing something else. Quarterback Derek Carr was seen praying on live TV next to his teammates.

Then, on Oct. 1, the Raiders faced off against the Denver Broncos. Carr was sacked twice and ended up suffering a back injury.
Now, Miko Grimes, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes, is saying that the offensive line actually allowed Broncos players to sack their quarterback and ultimately injure him because he didn’t agree with the national anthem protests.
“A lot of people don’t know, but the reason Derek Carr got injured is because the Raiders offensive line allowed him to get injured.
Because he was against them protesting. And they had a fight in the locker room before that Monday night game with the Redskins. …
They were fighting in the locker room, and that’s the only all-black offensive line in the NFL is the Raiders. …
Derek Carr is a Bible thumper to the fullest. And so he was basically trying to force the players to read the Bible before the game and do all this stuff, and they were like, ‘No, that’s you.’
And so he was so upset about it, when the whole offensive line said they were going to kneel, he was like, ‘No, you’re not kneeling. No. No. This is America, you’re going to stand for the flag.’ And they got in a fight in the locker room, so when they came out to play, they basically had a plan.”

Antonio Hamilton, the cornerback for the Raiders, has since responded to the Grimes’s accusation in a series of tweets:
A lie don’t care who tells it as long as it’s told.People will do & say anything just to get a few mins of fame. Almost ever word was false. https://t.co/AJ8IwUYC9C

Derek Carr’s brother, Darren Carr, also called out Grimes publicly after her claims came to light:

The quarterback himself did not immediately respond to Grimes’s statement, which remains uncorroborated
