Ok Folks, Here’s What REALLY Happened in Charlottesville – and What Everyone is Missing

This past weekend I was honored to be in a most picturesque place with some great and hospitable folks ib Prescott (Yavapai County) Arizona. I was there to address the Republican Women of Prescott, the nation’s largest Republican women’s club, on their 75th anniversary. The scenery there was just breathtaking and there was just a sense of solemnness that we all need experience from time to time. How great a contrast it was from what was happening across the country in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Let me begin by saying, I deplore any form of supremacist view — white, black, Hispanic, Islamic. I will be the first to openly state and embrace, a sense of American exceptionalism and supremacy that is rooted in our founding principles and values. Any and all else that is contradictory is to be condemned. What I have witnessed post the events of Saturday 12 August is the typical Rahm Emanuel mentality and political posturing: “never let a good crisis go to waste.”

Therefore, I seek to assess what really happened in Charlottesville, Virginia.

First, may God rest the soul of 32-year-old Heather Heyer who tragically lost her life. My sincere condolences to her, her family, and those others who were injured. I fully support seeking the death penalty for 20-year-old James Alex Fields Jr. of Ohio who committed this horrific act of violence. But, how did we get to this place?
This all began because someone decided, as other elected officials have across the country, to cave in to partisan political pressures and seek to erase American history. History is not there for us to love or hate, but for us to learn from and seek to not repeat its mistakes.

If there are those who truly believe we protect ourselves by trying to revise history due to false emotions, then we miss out on who we are as a nation, and our evolution. The statues of long since deceased leaders of the Confederate Army do not stand to remind anyone of oppression. And if a statue can oppress you, then I submit that you have greater issues.

I certainly did not appreciate former President Barack Obama taking a photo op in Cuba before the image of Che Guevara, nor do I enjoy seeing anyone wearing said image on t-shirts here in America…but I do not go into some whimsical state of “oppression.”
And so it is that we do possess in this Constitutional Republic a freedom of speech and freedom of expression. It would appear that said group who didn’t wish to see the statue of Virginian, General Robert E. Lee, who was a commissioned U.S. Army officer, graduate of West Point, and served the nation in the Mexican War, taken down did apply for a permit to hold a rally. We can dislike these individuals, but they took proper measures to secure permission to express their First Amendment right.

Contrary to their position, the word went out for a counter-protest to occur which included groups from a different side of the political spectrum, who have also been very guilty of hateful rhetoric and violence. What should have happened is that these two groups should have been kept miles apart. I do not understanding why any local law enforcement agency would allow these two groups close proximity…first lesson learned. And we must also ascertain, did the counter-protest group seek permit or did they just “show up” in order to provoke, and elicit a response they could use “politically?” Yes, motivations are important to understand in this case, if we’re serious about getting to the bottom of what happened in Charlottesville and not just the typical media-driven frenzy.

I find it rather odd that so many are seeking to lay blame on President Trump for what happened in Charlottesville. And there are some voices out there who want to blame all white people, and all Republicans. How odd that when it was the New Black Panther Party outside a voting precinct in Philadelphia in black fatigues and with clubs, nothing was said. As a matter of fact, they weren’t even prosecuted for voter intimidation. And when it was the riots in Ferguson and Baltimore fueled by media false narratives and a presidential administration’s rhetoric, there was no blame laid on Barack Obama. It appears to me that there is a blatant hypocrisy when an individual commits a horrible crime, such as in Charleston, South Carolina, and a collective group of people are to be held accountable.
But, when there’s an Islamic terror attack people say, “we cannot rush to judgment” or “this is not indicative of all Muslims”…to wit I agree, but why not call the enemy for what it is” militant Islamic terrorism or jihadism? Why must some be browbeaten into condemning the actions of a few, yet we have others who have fully admitted their support to groups calling for a “resistance?” And where were the voices to condemn the violence in Washington DC on Inauguration Day, or even at UC-Berkeley…or the violence committed against those who support the current president or hold beliefs aligned with Constitutional conservatism?

If we want to condemn groups such as the neo-Nazis and others, then we must also condemn groups such as BLM and Antifa. And we need to stop the cherrypicking, as they all should be investigated. Let’s end this absurdity of trying to connect the Republican Party with the Ku Klux Klan, since it was a creation of the Democrat Party. And I seem to recall Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, infamously known as a grand wizard of the Klan, lauded over at his memorial by Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton. It was Senator Byrd who was vehemently against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but it was Republican Senator Everett Dirksen who supported its passage.

James Alex Fields will be punished to the full extent of the law, and I truly believe he should never see the light of day again. But if we blindly do not realize there has been an atmosphere of hatred fomented in this nation, we are ignorant. Who even remembers the fella who attempted to gun down several Republican Members of Congress at a baseball practice, severely wounding Rep. Steve Scalise? The mainstream liberal progressive media pushed that aside rather quickly, and let us not forget MSNBC commentator, Joy Reid, who on her Sunday show actually sought to justify Rep. Scalise’s shooting because of his voting record. Now, where was the condemnation there, and why is it that Ms. Reid still has a position and a show on that network?
Fareed Zakaria praised the Central Park play depicting the “Caesar-like” stabbing to death of President Trump — last time I checked he was still on CNN. And how many Democrat elected officials were pressured into making statements of condemnation of one Kathy Griffith who notoriously held up the bloodied severed head resembling President Trump?

There’s plenty of guilt to be passed around here, but the progressive socialist left will sadly exploit this for all they can. They will horribly believe this will provide them some sort of electoral advantage. They fail to realize they’re just as complicit in what happened in Charlottesville. Let me ask that age-old rhetorical question: “if a tree falls in the woods, and no one is there, does it make a sound?”

If we were to go back and ponder this incident and just let a small group of disaffected individuals hold a rally to protest the possible taking down of a statue of General Robert E. Lee, and no one had showed up…Instead a call went out and trouble, violence ensued. Or maybe, if we had courageous elected officials who would just say, those statues aren’t offending anyone; they’re part of American history, and they stay. Imagine that, would there even be a story, any rally, and violence?

What happened in Charlottesville must not be allowed to happen again. And that means we need to hold ANY group responsible that promotes violence. “What do we want, dead cops; when do we want them, now”…”Pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon”…no more. Our streets aren’t the place for hoods and masks, such as Antifa wears, and their violence and destruction of property. Let’s call them all out, and not have this selective enforcement mentality rooted in partisan political hackery. If we don’t stop the blatant hypocrisy, which is truly the problem, then we’re sitting on a powder keg — which I believe some wish for.

I have an idea. If y’all want to fight, sign up in the U.S. military — if you meet the standards. There are plenty of folks who do indeed hate the United States. Channel your angst against them…not each other.

The Democrat Party is the worlds most successful hate group. It attracts poor people who hate rich people, black people who hate white people, gay people who hate straight people, feminists who hate men, environmentalists who hate the internal combustion engine, and a lot of bratty college kids who hate their parents.
However, the real secret of the party’s success is that it attracts the support of journalists who hate Republicans, and who therefore work tirelessly to convince the rest of us that we should vote for Democrats!

Bravo Allen West! It’s exactly my thoughts. There is no place for bigotry and racism in our country.
But is should be stopped all the ways. Call terrorist a terrorist. Ban KKK, BLM, Islamic terrorist groups, Linda Sausour- vicious antisemite and the promoter of Sharia Law. Arrest Madonna for the desire to attack WH.
    The list is endless.
It’s not a one way street.
Leave alone our great American history and it’s heroes.
Stop the criminally insane nonsense with removing the flags, statues, holidays etc.
    Our history is our pride.
Administration of the cities, schools, colleges, universities who allow it should be fired on the spot.
    Stop the nonsense!
    We have enough other problems.
Thanks to the great American hero Allen West for the great article.
God Bless America and her heroes!

I fully agree. There is 3 mistakes I feel our founders made when they put this nation together; 1. the allowed slavery into the nation even though it was being formed as an ‘equal to all’ nation. Will that mistake ever be paid off? 2. They created the Supreme Court with lifetime appointments. The Supreme Court has become an inferior political court. Those appointees should leave their political party at home when they go in that office. 3. They didn’t give the definition of the natural born citizen status required to serve in the Oval Office and the people are still arguing about it today even though the first session of congress (many who were our founders) defined it.

I agree mostly. But, the flight of the nazi flag is illegal in Germany. There are no statues of Hitler. The nazi salute is not allowed. Germany has turned away from that history. The Civil War was called for by the attempted secede of southern states. The statements of secession were about their desiring the continuation the despicable act of owning humans. Those that chose to fight the union comitted treasonous acts. The designer of the confederate flag stated he viewed white as supreme and blacks as less. The history does exist. There is no arguing with the history. 618,000 died because of it. The southerners chose an unchristian view. There should be no statues on public ground. They were treasonous acts.

What happened to “innocent until proven guilty”

While he may have been the driver of the car that injured the people, there are witnesses who claim that the driver was being attacked by the crowd and that he was scared for his own safety and was just trying to get away from them.

Thank you Allen West for the voice of reason. Also people don’t seem to realize that the rhetoric about bill’s not passing in Congress and the house of representatives is because of items add as things are being snuck in to get money for special interest groups. Each bill should stand alone so they are easily understood and either passed or failed on it’s own merit. All the rhetoric is dividing our country and politicians need to own their part in that.

I voted for Trump. I also voted for Obama his first term. I’m 70 yo, white female and have seen some things only someone from a poor background could see. But I always had faith in the American people’s way of life. Today, though I’m afraid for “the people”! We are all now defined as “if you aren’t with us you’re against us”. I’m for our country, not an affiliation or ideology! Badgering someone because you don’t like their choices only quiets them, never silences them. We have got to get past hatred and bigotry and move forward. And that can only exist in the individual people’s hands and hearts, not the “group” telling you how to behave.

We keep hearing all the people say it is time for us to stand up against those groups but how do all of us who want it to be known that we do not like this actions going on in this nation? Where do we voice our opinions that will be heard and heard collectively? Is there such a place online? Facebook? Twitter? etc that we can lodge our opinion in a collective manner such as a petition that will count towards making it known?
I constantly see complaints people make about things and they say something needs to be done. I agree but no one is offering a solution only opinions. Mr. West will you spearhead a movement to get this information collected and into the right hands so that our administration in this nation will know how we feel and maybe force those on the other side to listen to us or be shut down?

Despite the correct assessment given by Mr. West, it will not have any effect on how the Liberals think. Our area in Virginia is as conservative as any elsewhere yet the politics of the Lutheran, Brethren and Mennonite churches ( the prevalent religions in this area) all preach a liberal philosophy that embraces the current feel good and acceptance style of living that does not place any responsibility on Biblical teaching of the past.
We must accept what is the current rage, be it homosexuality or trans-genderism or free immigration with no laws as such. It is no wonder that Pew research on Church attendance shows a decline and the number of unchurched shows that todays young are turning away from religion. Without religion and coupled with the decline in ethnic communities where commonality of thought acts as a barrier to losing the morals that family and church taught our youth we will continue to see the lawlessness of our society.

Allen West, a true American Hero!
He was too honest for Congress as his own party “Republican” went to any expense to get him out of the House of Representatives. America, we have problems but problems can be solved and the problems we have “can be solved”. We got Trump into the White House, now let’s get some real Conservative Republicans in our Congress…
We have too many professional Congressmen with far too much tenure. The House of Representatives term is 2 years, we can replace them every election cycle and we should replace them. The Senate has a 6 year tenure and not one Senator should be seated for more than 6 years. 1/3 of the Senate can be replaced each election cycle and they should be replaced. We need Americans in our Congress, not Communists and there are more than 100 sitting Senators and Representatives that are members of the Communist Party, why? Why do we have Commies in Congress? Let’s get together and fix our country through the Constitution which we all should be abiding by!

What a load of crap! These statues are NOT honoring men of valor, they are honoring men who fought against the United States. We call them traitors. I don’t know about you, but these men do not fill my heart with pride when I think of them. They are not worthy of a position of honor anywhere.

As for the Klan, yeah it was started by democrats, that was more than half a century ago. Ask a member today if they are Democrat or Republican, see what answer you get. And republicans of the same era are the ones who started unions and workers rights, now ask them if they support unions and workers rights. Didn’t Judge Gorsuch squash the argument about how it started, instead look to how it applies today?

And I served 11 years in the military, so don’t come back at me with that bs.

Fully agree with this article! I honestly believe that what happened in Charlottesville this weekend was a page taken directly out of Saul Alinsky’s playbook, ‘Rules For Radicals’. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were two of his most ardent disciples/sympathizers.I wouldn’t be surprised at all to find out it was done with their full blessing and support nor to find out they paid ‘useful idiots’ to instigate and orchestrate this whole thing (ala Ferguson, Baltimore, etc.). If Barack Obama didn’t think anything about funding the Muslim Brotherhood with U.S. $$$$ while America’s poor, homeless and veterans had to do without, and if Hillary didn’t think all that much about selling Russia uranium that may have led to North Korea having nukes, I don’t think what I said is too far-fetched,although I don’t have a shred of proof that happened. It’s speculation and opinion on my part but probably not far from the truth.

You wrote: “The statues of long since deceased leaders of the Confederate Army do not stand to remind anyone of oppression. And if a statue can oppress you, then I submit that you have greater issues.” No, statues do not oppress me, but they can remind me of oppression. Very much the same as the swastika is not just a historic symbol and the same as a statue of Hitler would still remind me of the mass murders of the Nazis and more than 400000 American fatalities fighting them. Neither the swastika nor the statue could ever be removed for what the symbol and the person stood, historic or not. Yes, Lee has done some thing good for the USA. But he also had made choices, and his choices made him fight against a united America, against freedom, for oppression, and for slavery. He had the choice for what to fight, he made his choices and his choices put him on the wrong side of humanity. His statue stands as the symbol for white supremacy, for slavery and oppression. How do I know? Just see who identified with his statue and its meaning: KuKluxKlan sees him as one of theirs, swastika swinging Nazis see him as one of theirs, with raised arms Heil Hitler shouting Neo-Nazis see him as one of theirs, racists and white supremacy proponents see him as one of theirs. General Lee’s choices made him a symbol with which all of them identify. That is why all of these groups were there in Charlottesville. That is the reason why the statues have to go: Lee’s statues are not just historic sites, they are still today symbols of hatred, racism, and slavery.

When Baltimore and Ferguson happened, the police were told to “stand down.” People who rioted and looted were not arrested. Groups paid by Soros were not even questioned. There was a calculated and deliberate attempt to start a revolution with these coordinated attack against the American people. Baltimore and Ferguson were no spontaneous demonstrations against the policies of the government, which is the only sanctioned form of protest that is legal in this country. Charlottesville, Va. was no different than was Baltimore and Ferguson. It was a staged event meant to escalate into a race war. The same formula is being used over and over again, in the hopes that these provocations will end in an all out war, on the streets of America. The police were told to,”stand down.” Protestors, paid by Soros affiliated foundations, were present. People got hurt and died. No 1 was arrested. Mr. Obama, as President, did nothing to defend the innocent, or people’s property, or the Constitution or the local laws. Mr. Trump is expected to respond differently to the same formulaic provocations of these globalists who are trying to destabilize our government by undermining the authority of Mr.Trump to perform his duties, as president, by embarking upon a different course of action. 1st, Mr. Trump did what Mr. obama did not do. Mr. Trump called for peace and did not vilify the police. 2ndly, Mr. Trump should instruct his AG to do what Mr. Obama did not instruct his AG to do, and that is to assert the President’s authority to protect the American people, their property, the integrity of the Constitution and the local laws, by arresting the official that told the police to, “stand down.” Mr. Trump needs to call for a “special Congressional investigation,” into Soro’s use of paid protesters whose aim it is to start a race war in this country. The AG needs to arrest members of BLM and Antifa and outlaw their organizations, confiscate their assets and try them for, “treason.” Mr. Trump needs to do what Obama did not do, in these same circumstances, and that is to arrest the rioters and charge them trying to overthrow the government. Why? Because they are not protesting in order to change the government’s policies. THEY ARE RIOTING IN ORDER TO CHANGE THE GOVERNMENT. Which is exactly what they are trying to do. Mr. Trump can stop this unpatriotic behavior by doing things differently than did Mr. oboma under these same circumstances. Soros is trying to “take down,” the US government, just like he did to Ukraine, Egypt and approximately 50 other countries, in the last 50 years. Charlottesville demands a different response than Baltimore and Ferguson. Charlottesville needs to be seen for what it is, a planned insurrection, run by Soros, in order to destroy the government of our country. That is more than just a crime. That is treason. And it ought to be treated like treason and like some petty crime.

I agree with you Mr. Hannahel. Something has to be done to stop the violence even if it is only through speech, disruption of peace and order on the streets, public places including townhall meetings, school lectures and any public gatherings, wantonless destruction of property and hurting people even if it is only with body fluids. Amazingly, we have laws but are deliberately disregarded and disobeyed by even people we elected in office. If the present government will not start rounding up these offenders and charging them with their crimes, our society will rapidly go into chaos and decay. Arrests, charges and convictions must be made on all sides whether left and right.

This is well written, and absolutely true. With so many Americans who feel this way, why isn’t something being done to stop this anarchy? Do they not see what is going on around the world where Muslims have been allowed to occupy? Do they think that the same thing will not happen in the U.S.? It has already happened, and will only get worse. These hate groups, Black & White, must be stopped, now! they are enemies to all Americans.

Mr. Allen West; sir, I applaud you on the courageous comments you’ve made. Thank you; I was beginning to think that I was alone, with personal thoughts that you had shared, concerning our nation’s problems. Knowing now, that others share the same emotions, grants personal peace that I’m not alone. I had the honor to serve this nation for twenty-three years, in the armed forces. Moreover, my heart goes out to those who paid with their lives. My uncle Joe died in WWII, while landing on the beach in North Africa. It grieves me to see, today, little concern and disregard toward those who gave their lives for our benefit, as a nation. I wholeheartedly agree with you, sir. And, God bless you. Thank you, again.

What a disingenous pile of crap. Hatred has indeed been fomented in this country, but to lay it at the feet of progressives is just plain bullshit. Progressives were not the ones who owned slaves. Progressives were not the ones who drove a goddamn car into that crowd. Soros had nothing to do with this shit–this was a convergence of white racists who stated ahead of time that they would be coming to Charlottesville to spread terror, and that’s just what they did. Egged on by decades of hate speech from people like yourselves.

General Lee was a slaver and supported slavery. He supported the idea of ‘state rights’ but the right his state wanted was to enslave other people. Should we, in the United States, build and support statues of slavers on public property? It’s not an issue of being oppressed or even offended. It’s a matter of who we, as Americans, deem fit to hold up as heroes. Turns out that more and more people find the idea of slavers being heroes to be at odd with our American ideals of freedom. I don’t see that as a bad thing.

That said, any group has the absolute right to express their views. If these white supremacists felt the need to protect the statue of a slaver well, it says a lot about them. They even have the right to express their views in the form of demonstrations attended by shield carrying, club wielding, arms bearing citizens. It is their absolute right to do that and I would not deny them that right. Likewise, those showing up in opposition of these Hitler loving KKK types also have every right to be there. In fact, they have every right to be equipped the same way (which we didn’t really see. Perhaps it was poor planning on their part). Both side have the right to yell at each other. Both sides have the right to drown out speech they don’t like with their own speech.

However, engaging in moral equivalency between the two groups is nothing more than rhetorical legerdemain to argue that the people who were there espousing ideas of genocide, anti-semitism, bigotry, and slavery weren’t that bad. It a blatant “What about them?” attempt to excuse troglodytes dressed up as Nazis, skinheads, and the KKK. We, in the United States, have a long and pretty wonderful history of opposing Nazis. So let us oppose Nazis and stop trying to say the antifas are just as bad. We should oppose the use of violence in the political process but it is our undeniable duty as Americans and patriots to shut down Nazis, fascists, and hate mongers. We fought one war against Nazis. We fought another against slavers. Trying to minimize the anti-American ideas these people espouse is disgusting on the face of it.

I do not understand how living in a country with its republic established over 200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our former presidents set up a group called “Organizing for Action” – (OFA).

OFA – 30,000 strong working to disrupt everything that our current president is trying to do. This goes against our Democracy, it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If this is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws? If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know.

It is explained below. Do your part: read it and at least pass this on so others will know what we are up against. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are becoming a “PERFECT TARGET” for our enemy! Article from the New York Post – If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America!

The ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration’s top dogs over to an organization called Organizing for Action (OFA). OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution.

OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for “progressive” change. Issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform. OFA members were propped up by the ex-president’s message from the shadows: “Organizing is the building block of everything great we’ve accomplished. Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities – and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2016 and beyond.”

OFA’s website says it obtained its “digital” assets from the ex-president’s re-election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it’s the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic – AMERICA

Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president “will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.” Sperry writes that the ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the incoming administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide. OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate OFA has 32,525 volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation from their home/ office near the White House.

Think about how this works – for example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; violence follows – all emanating from the ex-president’s signal that he is heartened by the protests.

If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has operated on for the last 241 years

    What REALLY happened.

The planned event permit application was made by a group of Constitutionalists, NOT by a White Supremacy (KKK) group like the media reported.

Constitutionalists organized a peaceful assembly in Charlottesville called Unite the Right. The organizers lawfully obtained a permit to host this event

Wes Bellamy, the Vice-Mayor of Charlottesville, illegally revoked the permit for this event. Wes Bellamy is a known Leftist and is affiliated with the Black Panther Party, a Black supremacist organization.

The ACLU successfully sued Charlottesville for violating the First Amendment, and a Federal judge ruled that the permit must be reinstated and the right to assemble honored.

Unite the Right was scheduled to take place at 12:00pm for an organized, peaceful gathering with scheduled speakers.

At 11:30am, a heavily militarized police force illegally shut down the event, physically assaulting peaceful protesters with batons and tear gas. Several people were illegally arrested.

Right at noon, who shows up but the KKK, BLM and Antifa (along with other paid actors who have been hired at similar events, purportedly by none other than George Soros.)

While evacuating, many protesters were illegally assaulted by counter-protesters from Antifa and Black Lives Matter as the police stood by and did nothing.

Antifa and BLM members were recorded throwing bricks at people, using pepper spray, throwing molotov cocktails, water balloons (filled with chemicals, urine and feces).

The Constitutionalists were physically trapped between the Antifa terrorists and the police. The Constitutionalists pleaded to the police for their assistance. The police responded that they were given orders by the Mayor to stand down. Not only that, but because the police were shutting down the event, the Constitutionalists were told that unless they were residents of Charlottesville, they would be arrested if they did not leave immediately. However, the police were told not to allow the Constitutionalists past them, which meant they were FORCED to walk through the BLM and Antifa protestors. To me this sounds pretty well orchestrated.

A terrorist associated with the KKK drove his car straight in to a crowd of people, killing at least one, nearly killing 5 (they are in ICU) and injuring 12 others.

The state of Virginia declared a state of emergency with the National Guard on standby, and Charlottesville became the #1 news story in the world.

The lying media intentionally portrayed this all in a way to make it appear that 1) the peaceful protesters were white supremacists 2) Constitutionalists were the perpetrators of the violence, rather than the victims, despite heavy video evidence to the contrary.

This was an enormous breech of trust by the mainstream media, an enormous breach of the Constitutionalists’ First Amendment rights, an enormous breach by our men in blue who became a violent police-state suppression of free speech that is now being hidden by the lying media.

Given the testimony from the Constitutionalists, this was a WELL PLANNED AMBUSH on law-abiding Americans!

We are in an age where our own police can turn on every American if we continue to vote in Liberal “Progressive” Mayors, Governors, Police Chiefs, JUDGES, etc. This must stop! Make sure and do your part to get out there and vote against these anti-Americans who want to strip our constitution and take away the rights of American citizens!

The real truth is that the Mainstream Media is nothing more than puppets being led by the Grand Master puppets of all time, such as George Soros and all the rest of the elite globalists with an agenda to make a one world government that will take away the rights of the American people, AKA our Constitution and what made our country so great in the first place! This is an evil agenda and must be stopped! Ever wonder why this isn’t being reported in the news!?

Removing the statues of traitors, who attempted to rip this country apart and who were responsible for the death of over 620,000 is not removing history. It is removing a symbol that bigots and hate mongers pay homage to. The history books in our libraries are not being removed, burned or otherwise re-written. Ken Burns is not recalling his “Civil War” series to make changes. Yes, history is history, and it isn’t being changed or hidden. As a nation, a majority of us have come out of our sleep and now realize that these past traitors don’t deserve a place of honor in our towns and cities. They were traitors. Period. Bigots and hate mongers will need to go somewhere else to give praise to these gentleman.

Please take this one step further. WHO is behind these well outfitted, well funded, rioters/protesting Antifa, Black Lives Matter. We are seeing riot gear, professional signs, people who normally can’t afford to travel are showing up around the country at democratic run cities/towns to unleash their violence, public destruction and now death to an innocent woman. How do ALL of these people know about permits in cities and organize such LARGE numbers of people to travel and show up. THAT is the real question. It is the work of community organizers and I know of one, Barack Hussein Obama. Coupled with Hillary and their funding of their little “resistance” group. I contend that investigating the money and minds behind this well organized violence that began under Obama and Holder, and charging these people with the crimes they are committing, sedition being just one, would go a long way to stopping the violent murdering protestors, and restoring calm and unity in the USA under President Trump’s governing.

Here is a list of quotes from the article and why they are false, misleading, or otherwise incorrect.
“If there are those who truly believe we protect ourselves by trying to revise history due to false emotions, then we miss out on who we are as a nation, and our evolution. The statues of long since deceased leaders of the Confederate Army do not stand to remind anyone of oppression. And if a statue can oppress you, then I submit that you have greater issues”
Yes, these statues do have a place in our national identity and in our history. However, these should be in places where such things are appropriate, and in context. There is a reason there is an overlap, however big or small, between people who fly both the Confederate and Nazi flag. Both organizations believed in the superiority of one race and sought the enslavement or extermination of “others”. I am linking you a paper I wrote of why the CFB is comparable to the Nazi flag. Also in comparison, leaving these statues in public places, without context, is equitable to leaving up statues of Hitler or Gobel in Germany, for “historic” reasons. They belong in museums, not in public places.
“I certainly did not appreciate former President Barack Obama taking a photo op in Cuba before the image of Che Guevara, nor do I enjoy seeing anyone wearing said image on t-shirts here in America…but I do not go into some whimsical state of “oppression.””
    See this
“And we must also ascertain, did the counter-protest group seek permit or did they just “show up” in order to provoke, and elicit a response they could use “politically?””
The First Amendment generally bars government from requiring a permit when one person or a small group protest in a park, or when a group of any size protest on a public sidewalk in a manner that does not burden pedestrian or vehicle traffic
“I find it rather odd that so many are seeking to lay blame on President Trump for what happened in Charlottesville. And there are some voices out there who want to blame all white people, and all Republicans.”
It is literally inaction, and tolerance be these groups that allows events like the one in Charlottesville to happen. If everyone spoke out against these groups, rather than waiting two days, or saying it is freedom of speech, these groups wouldn’t be so emboldened.
“How odd that when it was the New Black Panther Party outside a voting precinct in Philadelphia in black fatigues and with clubs, nothing was said”
Nothing is said or done when white men in bullet-proof vests, with semi-automatic weapons, and battle fatigues protested in Ferguson during the Eric Garner riots. (Yes, they were riots, but fully justified in my opinion).
“If we want to condemn groups such as the neo-Nazis and others, then we must also condemn groups such as BLM and Antifa”
No, we do not. Because BLM and Antifa are not calling for the genocide, or separation of the races, Please see below image.
“ Let’s end this absurdity of trying to connect the Republican Party with the Ku Klux Klan, since it was a creation of the Democrat Party”
This is such a straw man argument. Yes, democrats were the “party of the KKK”, however, if you flip the labels from democrat and republican to conservative and liberal, this narrates exactly what is going on today. Democrats in the 40’s and 50’s were the conservative party, and it wasn’t until the civil rights movement in the 60’s and 70’s that it flipped.
“And I seem to recall Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, infamously known as a grand wizard of the Klan, lauded over at his memorial by Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton. It was Senator Byrd who was vehemently against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but it was Republican Senator Everett Dirksen who supported its passage.”
Robert Byrd later denounced his position and views in 1997, saying “he would encourage young people to become involved in politics but also warned, “Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Don’t get that albatross around your neck. Once you’ve made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena.”[21] In his last autobiography, Byrd explained that he was a KKK member because he “was sorely afflicted with tunnel vision—a jejune and immature outlook—seeing only what I wanted to see because I thought the Klan could provide an outlet for my talents and ambitions.”[22] Byrd also said in 2005, “I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times … and I don’t mind apologizing over and over again. I can’t erase what happened.”
“If we were to go back and ponder this incident and just let a small group of disaffected individuals hold a rally to protest the possible taking down of a statue of General Robert E. Lee, and no one had showed up…Instead a call went out and trouble, violence ensued.”
Yes, because it is inaction and apathy that lets these groups, form, recruit, and terrorize the rest of the nation. White supremacist groups are terrorists, period. Any other racial group would not be given the leeway these groups are in the US though, and that is wrong.
“Or maybe, if we had courageous elected officials who would just say, those statues aren’t offending anyone; they’re part of American history, and they stay. Imagine that, would there even be a story, any rally, and violence?”
Again, false, see paper on confederate flag and equate to monuments.

People, though you don’t and won’t want to see this, West’s soliloquy is actually the perfect definition of false equivalence couched in some nicely phrased language. Just two examples:
    1. in WWII we certainly did have TWO sides. We had the Nazis and we had the NOT Nazis. Both sides used weapons and tried to defeat the other side, but one side was promoting HATE and the other side was trying to stop the propoganda of racist and fascist hate. We did not have the ALT right vs. the ALT left (Trump’s words) in WWII OR in Charlottsville. We had a group of white supremacists advocating hate, racism, bigotry and violence. We had another group of people who said: we don’t want that message of hate in our town or our country.
    2. Adam West brought up history. I would put money on there not being one person in the ‘parade’ who has a clue about American or any other history. I bet if I named 10 Civil War generals, not one of the ‘marchers’ could accurately tell me which side they fought on. Our history isn’t determined or fostered or remembered by looking at statues. History isn’t taught by taking a classroom out to look at a group of statues. The statues were quite irrelevant to what was REALLY HAPPENING here. The decision to remove some statues is and should be left up to the citizens or governments that pay for, maintain and put up the damn things.

Finally, let’s make this clear using the example of pedophilia. If there is a group of people advocating pedophilia and another group saying NO WAY…..can you honestly say that this is just two different ‘opinions’ and we should treat them both equally?

Never saw just hypocrites. Where was Obama when Ferguson broke out. He did not care for his own race. Where was he during riots across the States. Go, President Donald Trump

Very nicely written article…except one thing. You judged the man arrested for the death of the 32 year old woman as guilty, and hoped he’d get life.

I saw pictures of the man driving his car out very slowly, gently moving the crowd. There was no attempt to harm. When his car was suddenly hit on the bumped with some kind of stick and people started to swarm around the back of the car he got scared. That’s when he sped up.

Of course he was there, so certainly if someone gets hurt or killed he may deserve some penalties. But as harsh as you suggested…I don’t think so. That is the mistake politicians make, jumping to conclusions. When President Trump did not make the mistake of blaming certain groups, the left wing media grabbed on it to make him wrong. You can’t just name one group, unless you know they are the sole cause, you have to name them all, or not any. He was so right on saying any kind of violence is wrong. More power too him. It is heart-warming to know there are others that have said the same or similar to what I have said.

I have always admired Colonel Wet. Since he and I are retired members of the US Army. I have long despised George Soros and his groupies and thugs. Until the Justice department takes back the rule of law that Obama’s administration battered over their 8 year reign of terror on the country and its constiyution. Obama will surely go down in history as the worst POTUS in our history and all his legislation destroyed the confidence of the citizens.

Sir, good article. This Marine wife would submit that the parties who clashed in Charlottesville were not from OPPOSITE sides of the political spectrum. I.E. I kept seeing the word “Tradworker” on the shields in the videos (in hands of so-called alt-right white supremacists). I googled it and found that they are proudly SOCIALIST in their philosophy! That’s left wing for you lefties without an education. So the other group is AntiFa (the misleading name anti fascist when they are really all about violence, fascism and anarchism with an agenda). They are ALSO from the LEFT, but only difference is they are rainbow colored and PAID by Soros and likely Organizing for America/Action (Obama’s decade old group from the Commie realm). So in reality, this isn’t about race or even statues. It’s about the left’s repeated attempts to destabilize and divide this Republic.

The White nationalists came looking for a fight , and they got one. Let it be known that in these protests there are those from both sides that get arrested for assault charges. But the white nationalists started it; and as one commentator recently said, One is allowed to stand up for his rights. In the aftermath, we have seen the outing/identifying those present. Mind you they didn’t just show up; they participated; they chanted (about faggs, n——-, etc); they carried torches – AND THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE THEY ARE NOT RACIST. And they are surprised at the death threats against them? Well what did they expect?!!! They came to retake white supremacy; they came to reclaim their white heritage (aka White Privledge); they came to reclaim their White Anglo Saxon Protestant European Birthright. So, on my behalf (as a white person), what is my identity? Polish, German and Russian. So what does that mean? It means I am no better; or worse than anyone else (White, black, brown, red, yellow, Catholic, Protestant, Jew, or any one else.

This was very well said Mr. West, but there was one thing that people seem to have forgotten. Society promised our veterans good or bad to remember and honor their service to our country. Those statues were in the day a way to honor that promise. We still today promise our veterans and enlisted to honor and remember their service to our country. In the day those men believed in their hearts that they were doing right for this country. And at the time maybe it was. Just like the Vietnam War those soldiers believed that they were doing right by this great country. Not everyone agreed. And that is a right that we all have, the right to not having to agree. By taking down these statues and memorials what are we teaching our children of today. That just because they don’t agree they can wipe it away and that makes it ok? No we need to be teaching our young people that it is important to remember and honor our veterans, past and future, whether we agree or not with what they did but beause they were a great part of our nation’s history and because they are someone’s family. They were not just story book charaters, They were fathers and brothers and sons and daughters. Of all nationalities. They were people like you and I who lived and died trying to do what they thought was right. Expressing their freedom of speech so that we could.

Mr West mentions democrats and republicans. This battle is not such. He mentions the ‘left.’ Nor is the battle ‘left v right.’ He mentions ‘radicalised Muslims.’ In truth, the proper term is ‘defenders’ who are fighting because they have been invaded by an arrogant and despotic nation; they just want to be left alone. Mr West says he hopes current violence will soon stop. In truth, this is only the beginning.
I will ask all of you a question: What is the truth of the attacks on the Confederate flag: It is simply this: an all-out attack upon Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The Southern states represent the last bastion of Christianity in this yankee nation.
1861-Confederate States of America were invaded by the yankee nation. Genl Lee said ‘all the South wanted was to be left alone.’ We Southerners just want to govern ourselves; state’s rights.
1865-General Lee said (after the yankees forced centralised tyranny) ‘the government is certain to be AGGRESSIVE ABROAD and DESPOTIC AT HOME.
1861-2017+ -today the yankee empire occupy 170+ (formerly sovereign) nations world wide with over 800 military bases worldwide. Mr West says ‘if you want to fight then join the U S Armed Forces.’ My point entirely.
Shall the throne of iniquity WHICH DEVISES EVIL “BY LAW!” have fellowship with the LORD?
Finally, here is the good news: You have made a covenant with death. Your covenant will be annulled.

Funny you all didn’t seem to have a problem when that very same play in 2012 had depicted Obama being assassinated. Where was your out rage then ? As far as having Permits, to march , rally or Protest should include the Anti – protest, march or Rally. The problem is you people have Racist and White Supremacist in your party, and you don’t want to call them out for being so. So yes, ignoring or allowing them to stay within your party means you must condone their actions. And like you all like to do is blame a whole group for a few, So now Dems / Liberals will do it to you all.

“If a statue can oppress you, you have greater issues.”

IF you’re black in this country, and not absolutely fucking lucky, you already do have bigger issues… so, there you go. Duh.

And as far as joining the military to fight people who hate America, think about this. Left and right politicians have been telling us for years that people on the other side hate America. People we vote for, who lead us, and who supposedly are trustworthy and responsible. So, if our leaders are saying it’s people HERE who hate America, why join the military? The military doesn’t fight enemies within the country.

Maybe, just maybe, political language painting opposing views as “the enemy” and “hatred of America” really does alter, to some degree, how people think, reinforcing their hatred of others on opposite sides of the political spectrum. Now, a politician’s words only had so much on the average person, until the age of the internet. I think the last election proved how much influence social media can have in allowing a candidate to directly and repeatedly telling his or her supporters that the other side is the enemy of the country.
