Parkland Survivor Meets Clarence Thomas — His Words On the 2A Are Great News for Conservatives

When Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv met with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, he got some reassuring information about the amendment he’s been defending.

Kashuv tweeted on Thursday that he met with Thomas and the two discussed the Second Amendment. The constitutional provision got a lot of attention after the shooting at Kashuv’s high school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which left 17 people dead in February.

While Kashuv’s classmates called for stricter gun regulation, he opposed their calls for an assault weapons ban and ban on high-capacity magazines. He also pushed for solutions that wouldn’t violate the second amendment, something a former Supreme Court Justice said should be repealed.

But according to Thomas, who currently sits on the Court, that won’t happen:

“He told me about some of the cases he dissented on and how #2A won’t be touched,” Kashuv said of Thomas.

His tweet came after a shooting at YouTube headquarters in California and a multi-city march his classmates organized to call for action in response to gun violence.

Kashuv hasn’t been shy about taking on his classmates and other vocal proponents of gun control.

Earlier this month, for example, he knocked television host and gun control advocate, Piers Morgan, after he tweeted about London’s high murder rate:

“But Piers, gun control totally worked and made everyone safer!” he said, mockingly. “(It didn’t because criminals bought knives).”

United States Supreme court Justice Clarence Thomas is my personal favorite of the justices. Each of his findings on each case has been spot on and he’s an adherent to the Doctrine of Original Intent. If we had a bench full of Thomas’s we would not have the problems we do today.

Shame on you, Frances. You HAVE to be a leftie, because anyone with intelligence would never say that.

Frances, why do you say such things? You don’t know him. I wish there were more justices like him. He knows the Constitution and the history behind it. He has not had an easy life, but has worked his way to being a supreme court justice.

It is so good to see an intelligent young man that understands why we have the 2nd Amendment and how important it is for Americans. Clarence Thomas is a true Patriot and believes in protecting our constitution just as it is written.

I agree with everyone except Frances and her remark that “he is a pervert” Let’s see some proof of that. And what does that remark have to do with the Second Amendment? Duh!

Louise, my guess is that Frances is a liberal. Ad hominem attacks, name calling, no proof … all trademarks of liberals.

Will the reporters quoted here PLEASE QUIT calling them ASSAULT WEAPONS? Assault-grade weapons are only available to the military! An AR-15 was not, IS NOT an assault weapon! It is a semi auto .223 cal. rifle which was first marketed to CONSUMERS starting in the late 1950s. It was considered a “varmint rifle”, i.e., usable for hunting SMALL game. and even home defense. The military picked it up in the early 1960s and had it modified to be a “true” assault weapon, in other words, a fully automatic rifle (machine gun). OKAY? GET IT NOW? Jeeze.

I had to explain it to my sister, and she used to be National Guard!
The AR15 is NOT an assault rifle! It shoots the same caliber of bullet (basically), the same velocity, and the same rounds per minute as a hunting rifle. AR stands for the manufacturer: Armalite!
I only have one question for anyone who says that an AR15 ban would stop mass shootings: how do you explain Columbine? It was in the middle of an AR15 ban, and they used that very weapon for their carnage at Columbine.
People assume that the Constitution gives us the right to bear arms. It does NOT! It SAYS our rights come from our creator! The Bill of Rights does not tell us what our rights are, it tells the GOVERNMENT what it CAN and CANNOT do about those rights!
And one last thing, I think Kyle Kashuv is a million times more impressive than David Bogg! It takes guts to go against the flow, to stand up and say,”Hey, I don’t think that’s right.”, even to his peers! ♥

You are right on Charlene! I am glad for all of you who are standing up for what is true.
