President Trump refused to speak with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro with one honest reason that angered him.
“President Trump will gladly speak with the leader of Venezuela as soon as democracy is restored in that country,” Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated.
She also said:
“Since the start of this administration, President Trump has asked that Maduro respect Venezuela’s constitution, hold free and fair elections, release political prisoners, cease all human rights violations, and stop oppressing Venezuela’s great people.”
“The Maduro regime has refused to heed this call, which has been echoed around the region and the world. Instead, Maduro has chosen the path of dictatorship.”
President Trump set new sanctions on Venezuelan officials since U.S. is the top importer Venezuelan oil. But Washington hasn’t yet issued any sanctions on Venezuelan energy sector.
The president also stated that the possibility of military actions isn’t ruled out yet.
July Trump requested for “free and fair elections” in Venezuela, and stated that the U.S. “stands with the people of Venezuela in their quest to restore their country to a full and prosperous democracy.”
Venezuela has been in chaos for a long time now and it on the edge of collapsing.
This is why President Trump doesn’t want to talk to Maduro. Trump doesn’t want to have a discussion with a socialist dictator
