Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson held a joint press conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
Adel Al-Jubeir could not have been more complementary of the Trump Administration. After eight long years of Obama the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking forward to working with the Trump administration. The two leaders announced a $110 billion purchase of US arms by the Saudi Kingdom today.
The Saudi Foreign Minister said Trump’s visit was a historic summit.
At one point in his opening statement Adel Al-Jubeir told reporters the House of Saud was looking forward to “draining the swamp” of extremism.

“That was a tremendous day. Tremendous investments in the United States. Hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs.”
The State Department said:
“This package of defense equipment and services supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region in the face of malign Iranian influence and Iranian related threats. Additionally, it bolsters the Kingdom’s ability to provide for its own security and continue contributing to counterterrorism operations across the region, reducing the burden on U.S. military forces.”
