Some Leftists Think Actor Gerard Bulter Deserved to Lose His Home in CA Wildfires for Supporting Israel
Actor Gerard Butler faced backlash after posting about the California wildfires.
The actor posted on Twitter showing the devastation from the wildfires. He lost his home and possessions, yet chose to focus on thanking the firefighters and first responders.
Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you @LAFD. If you can, support these brave men and women at https://t.co/ei7c7F7cZx. pic.twitter.com/AcBcLtKmDU

He also filmed himself walking through the charred shell of his home for a story posted on his Instagram.
While there was an outpouring of support, many responded to his tweet and slammed him for his support of the nation of Israel:

This PoS Gerard Butler got his instant karma in less than a month. He lost his probably multi million dollars along with cars parking there. / / ❤ Isn't it amazing that not a super power avenging Palestinians but mother nature is? / <b.. https://t.co/oRHWMmQxi4

Think about Palestine Iraq and Afghanistan You people burnt the houses of those poor people like this and devastated them 🤔Maybe you get some lesson from this thing and you realize something 🔥I am sorry to burn your house but you should definitely think about Palestine

The gala raised $60 million, and the money will go towards supporting Israeli veterans and helping to build recreational facilities for veterans and their families. Some of Butler’s critics were claiming that he was funding the Israeli conflict with Palestine.
Really is sad 😞 @GerardButler & Co. seem to have no idea re IDF. Just drank the koolaid instead of using their celebrity to draw attention to the racism, oppression, dispossession, occupation #Palestinians have been suffering for decades. Ignorance? https://t.co/UpEt0ILie2

You should have put away some of the $60 million you donated to the IDF to destroy more Palestinian homes! Bad call..! Ask Israelis to help u rebuild…!

Karma’s a bitch, @GerardButler!
You turned down the offer from Saudi Arabia pretending to be righteous and instead went to Israel where children are killed everyday.
You deserve this! pic.twitter.com/bUjiykJehL— Elon Muscc (@ninety_0) November 11, 2018
Butler had recently commented that he hoped to live in Israel one day, but said that he would need his house in Los Angeles to burn down so he had to stay for good. Some found irony in the situation, making fun of Butler’s comment.
Happy to hear your wish was granted, shame about supporting the Israel tho pic.twitter.com/QvKNWNdNp8

The California wildfires were devastating for many people, causing many to find it inappropriate that the events are now being used to call people out for supporting the nation of Israel in an extremely complicated conflict.
