Two Spoiled Teenage Football Players Were Kicked Off The Team For Kneeling During Anthem

Two spoiled teenage football players from Texas decided to kneel during the national anthem before their game Friday. But the protests didn’t last long as the coach took something from them immediately.

Larry McCullough and Cedric Ingram-Lewis quickly learned that Texans don’t like it when some spoiled high school football players disrespect the flag and the country. Friday night they knelt during the national anthem.

Ingram-Lewis, a sophomore, said that the subject of the protest was brought up in the locker room and his cousin McCullough, a senior, also revealed he will kneel on social media. Anyhow, in case the players think that the coach will tolerate disrespecting the anthem, coach Ronnie Mitchem openly told them that he doesn’t allow kneeling.

Mitchem is a pastor and ex-Marine who started to train football players six years ago at Victory & Praise Christian Academy in Crosby, Texas. Seeing how he is a former veteran, he was clear that he doesn’t allow his players to protest the National Anthem. “He told us that disrespect will not be tolerated,” said Ingram-Lewis after kneeling on Friday. “He told us to take off our uniform and leave it there.”

“That was my point of view,” Mitchem said. “Like I said, I’m a former Marine. That just doesn’t fly and they knew that. I don’t have any problem with those young men. We’ve had a good relationship. They chose to do that and they had to pay for the consequences.”

Rhonda Brady, the mother of one of the players who was kicked off the team, said the coach was a man with no integrity.” She said, “Actions speak louder than words. So, for him to do what he did, that really spoke volumes, and I don’t want my kids or my nephew to be around a man with no integrity.”

“I’m definitely going to have a conversation because I don’t like the way that that was handled,” Brady added. “But I don’t want them back on the team. A man with integrity and morals and ethics and who truly lives by that wouldn’t have done anything like that.”

Brady’s comments say a lot about her son’s behavior. Parents who attack a veteran who has contributed to the safety of the country they are living in are the ones to blame for their kids’ disgraceful behavior. If Brady doesn’t teach her kids to respect others is more worrisome than the fact that her son was kicked off the football team.

Coach was right in his actions! Mother is the one with NO Integrity! She is one who probably is on welfare and has multiple children with different fathers for the money! If I was that son I would be ashamed of my Mother. That is how I believe. The son probably knew better and still did it anyway because the cousin did. I stand in agreement with the Coach! The mother is wrong!

Way to go Coach!!! You told them before the game not to do it and what would happen if they did take a knee. Well they got what they wanted and now the mom wants to Blame the Coach,Well forget that. I believe that she knew about what they were going to do before the game and she probably told them to do it. Why are people so STUPID? When are they going to learn that if you disrespect America in anyway. That there will be consequences to pay. The Coach made the right call and i am glad he did. This Mother should be ashamed of her son and nephew for their disrespect but it seems that she is just as Stupid as they are. Obama started this about cops shooting Blacks but if you would check the facts, Lighting Bills more Blacks than the Police do in a year. Blacks kill more Blacks than Police do in a year and it goes on so why aren’t they protesting Those? Thank You.

    Proud To Be A AMERICAN!!!

I agree! The children have this behavior because parents don’t know any better. I bet these kids will be disrespectful in their adult lives if the parents keep on misinterpreting such disrespect for the flag as racist. All the problems in this country start from being anti blacks or racist. Not true. It’s the attitude that really matters, not the color.

This is exactly the way the NFL should have handled these spoiled millionaires. During the National anthem is the time and place to show respect for our country. Protesting any issue is not why we are at a game and the team should be concentrated on the game.

A very ignorant mother is all I can say and good on the coach who has way more integrity than that absurdly pathetic excuse for a mother has.The coach Ronnie Mitchem obviously let them know his views and they thumbed their noses at him.I hope Texans stand behind him in his decision.

I DON’T LIKE POLITICS MIXED WITH MY FOOTBALL NIGHT!
Just because one has the right to do something doesn’t mean they should do it. People have the right to be jerks, but would it be a good idea to behave that way?

A great big attaboy coach. You did a good job, just what you should have done. STAND YOUR GROUND. I get really sick of this foolishness. Is it the parents fault? Perhaps somewhat. But I think most of the problem is the schools, the teachers/coaches, and unfortunately probably the partents sticking their noses in where they have no business. It’s always that way. We all know how it goes, they come to the school yelling and threatening the teachers and principals and screaming I’ll call the law, or no one had better never touch one of my kids and if they do, they will wish they hadn’t. THAT IS STUPID AND ABSOLUTE HOG WASH. Perhaps that perfect child need their tail ends busted, and usually they do. Sincerely, Ken Herdman/West Virginia.

You should NEVER disrespect the American flag or the anthem, Plus they had been forewarned what would happen. They what the deserved.

To the mom of these boys. Teach them respect and we won’t have this problem. Wait until they disrespect you and they will, then you will teach them? When they are lying in the street somewhere bleeding you will wish then you would have taught them. If they don’t respect the flag, then a time will come to not respect a police officer. Teach them well.

This Coach is a GREAT MAN of much INTEGRITY and teaches boys how to be the same.
However, some BabyMaMa wants to say otherwise because of their own personal lack of Honor, Respect and Patriotism of the Flag that represents the Battles and Victories that were gained by the Blood, Sweat, Years and DEATH of persons of all ethnicities to pay for the freedoms their children and most Americans take for granted.
All I have to do is look at the pic and I immediately see the Common Denominator of this disrespect.
    Can you spot it too?

Way to go coach! Great job! And to the parent who thought what her children did was OK, goes to show YOU have no morals or respect. Way to teach your children these same values in life…let me ask how will your morals hold up when you need police assistance or the military to fight for your freedom? If you disagree with America, the flag, and National Anthem (something ALL Americans hold dear) then move to a different country. One where you can let your spoiled little heathens run amuck…promise you I won’t cry when they are in jail for bad behavior.

A mother that would back their child when they disrespect our flag and our fighting men and women that risk their lives so that we may have the freedoms that we have IS THE ONE WITH NO INTEGRITY! They are teaching their children to have no respect and must be accountable for their actions. I applaud the coach for standing up and doing what he told them ahead of time what would happen. The “ME” generation needs to get their act together and the parents need to join the military and find some JESUS!

I totally respect the coach. He did exactly what he said he would. Thank you for standing up for what you believe. You are exactly right. A parent who will support this disrespect to the flag is unacceptable! What is their complaint? Have they been indocrinated by falsehoods from their parent! What is their agenda? I bet they don’t even know! They do this now how much more when they go to college or even be a national player! Good for the coach to teach them a lesson! Who are they to disrespect the nation! Bad example from these two! What’s their class standing? Are they excellent in class or just there for sports only! They need to be stopped now!

Being an 8 year Marine Corps veteran myself and knowing that every American has the right of free speech I agree with the actions taken by the Coach. Why? Because when you exercise your right to protest you are also responsible for the consequences as these two young men found out.

Most CHILDREN GET THEIR POINTS OF VIEW FROM THEIR PARENTS. I DIDN’T HEAR WHAT THE DAD HAD TO SAY, OH YEAH I FORGOT ABOUT 68 % OF ALL BLACK KIDS DON’T HAVE A FATHER AT HOME. THAT IS THE REAL ISSUE THAT IS plaguing the black community. If they don’t respect the flag they probably don’t respect other people’s rights they probably don’t respect other people’s property they probably don’t respect other people’s anything.

Good call coach. You warned them, they didn’t comply, so good-by. Their Mother/Aunt’s attitude explains it all. The Mother needs to look up the meaning of INTEGRITY. She has set a poor example for those boys and their future. If that coach gives them a second chance he’s setting a worse example. RULES ARE RULES and a WARNING was given. WTG Coach ! First I want to say to the Mother of the player, Look up the definition of the word INTEGRITY, because this coach is the embodiment of the word integrity ! Sports are a privilege! When will the general public and the athletes realize this? Veterans have served and died for you to have the PRIVILEGE to play sports professionally and get paid outrageous salaries to do so. Lets get more coaches and teachers involved with that same sentiment, education is the first priority in high school, so hopefully when they do not make the NFL draft, they can still find employment in the real world.

All teams (Pro, amateur, college, & school sports of every kind) are supported by the ticket holders, fan goers, fans who buy their teams merchandise, & all those who raise & give money to their teams. So yes you should stand when that flag is raised & the anthem is played. Not just for the men, women, & their families who fought so you could have the freedom to play these sports. But for all those people who set on the bench in all kinds of weather, those who drive miles & miles to see their team & kids play. For those who spend tons of money buying tickets, gas, food, merchandise & the list could go on. So go protest at the places you aren’t getting support from, like your local government, state government & your national government, kneel at their steps.
And as far as I can tell that mother who things she knows about slavery, well let’s just say she has know idea what her forefather went through nor do I. If they were alive today they might snatch her bold headed for not respecting the national anthem & supporting those who fought for hers & their freedoms today so she would never experience what her fore Father went through. They not only disrespect the military but they disrespect the Martin Luther King’s of this nation.
