During a Saturday “Families Belong Together” immigration rally in Los Angeles, Calif., Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) reignited her calls to impeach President Donald Trump.
“I am not about to let this country go by the way of Donald Trump,” she said. “We are sick and tired of him. He’s been there too long. They dare me to say ‘Impeach him.’ Today I say, ‘Impeach 45.’”
Her remarks came after she encouraged the harassment of Trump administration officials in public, prompting a response from the president on Twitter.
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she said at the time.
President Trump hit back in a tweet, calling her the “unhinged” face of the Democratic Party:
Congratulations to Maxine Waters, whose crazy rants have made her, together with Nancy Pelosi, the unhinged FACE of the Democrat Party. Together, they will Make America Weak Again! But have no fear, America is now stronger than ever before, and I’m not going anywhere!

Waters has called for the president’s impeachment in the past, once telling Americans to “get ready for impeachment” and even starting an “impeach 45” chant while giving a speech at an awards ceremony.
Her position as a frequent President Trump critic earned her a prominent feature in the Republican National Committee’s latest political ad attacking the “unhinged” left.
At the rally, Waters also addressed threats of violence she has been receiving, saying, “All I have to say is this: If you shoot me, you’d better shoot straight. There’s nothing like a wounded animal.”
