George Clooney and his wife, Amal, are known to be ultra-liberals. And from time to time, George lets his mouth run on politics a little more than a mere actor should.
But when he starts throwing his money around to advance an ultra-liberal agenda, that’s where we need to draw the line.
After all, Clooney has all that money because WE chose to go see his movies.
So, if he’s going to use it in service to something with which we disagree, it’s only logical that we STOP seeing his movies.
This week, the Clooney’s plopped down $1 million to support the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
Clooney stated (via Breitbart):
“Amal and I wanted to add our voice (and financial assistance) to the ongoing fight for equality. There are no two sides to bigotry and hate.”
Well, that sounds very reasonable. And, in fact, the mission statement of the SPLC itself sounds rather reasonable.
But, then you start to dig a bit deeper.
It turns out the SPLC has take up a position at the forefront of the campaign to blame everything on President Trump.
Said SPLC President Richard Cohen:
“…we were shocked by the size, ugliness, and ferocity of the white supremacist gathering in Charlottesville. It was a reflection of just how much Trump’s incendiary campaign and presidency has energized the radical right.”
Entirely missing from Cohen’s remarks is how much LARGER and UGLIER have been the fascist Antifa riots, not only in Charlottesville, but across America!
Trump himself laid blame on both sides and told everyone to calm down.
The SPLC, and the Clooney’s by supporting them, seem determined to keep conflict alive by propping up one side against the other.
