Liberals are gloating, thinking President Trump’s approval ratings are low, but let’s look at the facts.
In the first place, it’s been shown over and over again that certain polling firms intentionally skew the number of registered Democrats they survey in order to bring down any positive results for Trump.
However, there is something else to consider.
Think about who Donald Trump was really campaigning against, and is still fighting tooth and nail so he can get his policies enacted and his appointees affirmed.
He wasn’t just fighting against Hillary Clinton and the Democrats, along with the loony left.
Trump also faces almost unprecedented opposition from the media. Those who remember how the media (both the news and the entertainment industries) tried to demolish Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush probably figured that was the watermark for hysterical character assassination. Sadly, they were mistaken.
With all this taken into consideration, let’s look at Trump’s latest popularity numbers:
According to Rasmussen Reports, 50 percent of voters approve of the job Trump has done in the near month since he was sworn in, while 50 percent disapprove. His rating is down two percent from the same poll conducted by Rasmussen last week.
The same poll — which surveyed an estimated 500 voters — also found that 46 percent of voters think “the country is headed in the right direction.”
Once again, leftists will gloat. But think about it.
First of all, that 50 percent result is slightly higher than it’s been for Trump in the recent past.
More importantly, considering all the virulent vocal hatred directed at Trump, isn’t 50 percent approval a pretty impressive number? It’s likely there are still Trump fans who feel intimidated about admitting their support.
What really matters aren’t polls. It’s Trump’s continued determination to keep his promises to the American people, and so far he’s delivering.
