BACKFIRE: Reporters Go After Ocasio-Cortez After She Bans Press From Town Hall

Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez received intense backlash on Friday after she reportedly banned reporters from attending a town hall event after receiving weeks of intense criticism over multiple false statements, lies, and gaffes she has made while on the campaign trail.

The Queens Chronicle reported that only those who were in attendance at the town hall on Sunday know what was discussed since Ocasio-Cortez banned members of the press from attending.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to the story after it gained traction in national media on Friday by saying that it was a “non-story,” and portraying those who attended the town hall as victims who would not be safe in the presence of the media.

Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks were quickly picked up by dozens of people who work in the media that criticized, mocked, and called her out for lack of transparency with the free press.
