BOOM!! Chuck Schumer’s Best Friend’s Going To Jail For A Long Time

Chuck Schumer just got some horrible news. His best buddy New Jersey Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez just found out he’s going to spend some time in the big some devastating news. Bob has been under the gun for his corruption and has been actually quite adroit at dodging the full weight of the law.

Bob has been under the gun for his corruption and has been actually quite adroit at dodging the full weight of the law.

But it appears even democrat obfuscation has limits and Bob’s run out of options. The heavy hand of justice is getting ready to come crashing down on poor Bob’s head.

According to Politico, the Supreme Court just rejected Sen. Bob Menendez’s attempt to get the bribery and corruption charges against him thrown out.

This was the last legal dodge Bob had up his sleeve and now the New Jersey Democrat will finally face a trial, scheduled for this fall.

With today’s decision, Menendez can no longer block the slow wheels of justice from moving forward.

Menendez’s office refused to comment on the announcement.

Menendez’s defense team had filed an appeal to the Supreme Court in December. They argued that the Justice Department violated the senator’s constitutional privilege under the Speech or Debate Clause.

This clause shields lawmakers and aides from legal action for legitimate legislative activities. The Third Circuit Court of Appeals had earlier ruled against poor soon to be jailhouse Bob.

Menendez was indicted by the Justice Department in April 2015 on 14 felony counts. He allegedly traded favors in exchange for gifts and political contributions from Dr. Salomon Melgen.

And they weren’t small favors either. Federal prosecutors alleged Menendez intervened on Melgen’s behalf to resolve a multi-million-dollar billing dispute over Medicare charges, to maintain a $500 million port-security contract with the Dominican Republic, and to obtain U.S. visas for Melgen’s girlfriends.

Melgen has been indicted. Menendez pled not guilty arguing the interventions were routine constituent services.

The corruption, however, goes deeper and could ensnare other leading democrats.

According to Sebelius, the topic of the meeting was a dispute between CMS and Melgen. CMS claimed Melgen had overbilled the government for millions of dollars, which Melgen denied.
