Newt Gingrich has taken to Twitter to congratulate Donald Trump, and many liberals and conservatives are losing their minds over it for different reasons.
He congratulated Trump on saying, “You’re fired” to Sally Yates and replacing her with Dana Boente until Jeff Sessions is confirmed as the attorney general.
Trump practiced “you’re fired for years”. Today he applied it to an insubordinate acting atty general. Congratulations.

Trump fired Yates because she “had betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States,” according to an unsigned statement from the White House, via Fox News.
Yates wasn’t “convinced” that the order banning people from certain Muslim countries was “lawful,” despite the fact that other presidents, including Obama, have put similar bans in place.
The executive order by Donald Trump, which was signed on Friday, has halted the refugee program for 90 days in America as well as banning travel from seven countries that are a “cause for concern.” This is something that makes sense to a lot of people — unless we’re talking about liberals.
Boente issued a statement, saying, “I am honored to serve President Trump in this role until Senator Sessions is confirmed. I will defend and enforce the laws of our country to ensure that our people and our nation are protected.”
The liberals have taken Yates’s firing quite badly, effectively turning her into a martyr for “standing up” to the White House. When people stood up against Obama, they were labeled as racist and bigoted, but when people stand up to Trump, they are “profiles of courage.”
Nobody had a problem with the ban when it was initiated by President Obama and signed off by Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. No one had a problem with it when Bill Clinton did it, or when Bush did it, or even when Reagan did it. Trump’s ban is nothing new.
The American people need to follow in Gingrich’s footsteps and congratulate Trump for firing this woman who refused to follow an order from the president of the United States, but you want to know what the argument is from the liberal side?
Liberals are discrediting Gingrich’s tweet because he divorced his wife while she was in the hospital dying of cancer, but a simple fact check will show that she is still alive and they were already going through a divorce before the hospital visit, as per Fact Check.
Once again, liberals are focusing on the soft human interest part of the story instead of the actual facts. Yates was fired for a good reason — she wasn’t holding up the orders of her commander-in-chief. She betrayed the American people and the Department of Justice. She got what she deserved.
