Donald Trump is looking at a very short period of time before he is inaugurated as president of America.
He shared certain details about this ceremony on Wednesday, and we could already notice the difference from his plans and what happened when Barack Obama went through the same protocol.
According to the Daily Mail, Trump plans on having only two balls and a third ceremony for military members and first responders. Obama, on the other hand, held 10 inaugural balls when he was taking Office back in 2009.
“The 2017 inaugural celebrations will reflect President-elect Trump’s eagerness to get to work in order to make our country safer and stronger,” Presidential Inaugural Committee Chairman Tom Barrack said in a statement.
This shows that Trump plans on conducting things way different that Obama did and making a statement with his humble appearance.
The inauguration shall be kicked off on January 17 and will include series of lunches and events that will last during the entire weekend.
The official program starts on the morning of January 19, when Trump and his Vice President-Elect Mike Pence will attend a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
That night, there will be a concert that is being dubbed as a “Make America Great Again Welcome Celebration” at the Lincoln Memorial.
Then, just before January 20, Donald Trump will attend a private family church service at St. John’s Episcopal Church. On january 19, he is going to reside at the Blair House, the president’s official guest house.
The inauguration parade will come right before Trump is in front of the Capitol Building. As the inauguration committee stated, there will be only “two inaugural balls and a ball saluting our armed forces and first responders.”
Obama spent his 2009 ceremonial period partying with celebrities and held 10 balls.
Talk about priorities, right?
