Washington politicians are going after an IT aide in the Clinton administration who ignored subpoenas to testify in front of Congress during the Clinton email investigation.
Republican Representative Jason Chaffetz of Utah, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, is among those pursuing charges. The aide, Bryan Pagliano, is said to be the architect of Hillary Clinton’s email system. The Daily Caller reports that Pagliano worked for Hillary Clinton at the State Department where he “set up and maintained her secret email system, on which classified information was stored.”
Bryan Pagliano has vital information that would have been helpful for investigators. However, he felt he was exempt from the law and completely ignored the subpoenas he received. According to the Caller, Pagliano was asked to testify on Sept. 13 and Sept. 22 but never went. After he skipped the testimony, the Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted to hold Pagliano in contempt of Congress. But how did he get away with breaking the law?
The former Clinton IT aide got special treatment and received limited immunity from the Justice Department in exchange for his cooperation in parts of the infamous email investigation. That’s not the only time this lying traitor pleaded the Fifth. He also invoked his right to silence while being interviewed by the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
The Oversight Committee is livid. Representative Chaffetz wrote a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions to remedy the matter and bring this coward to justice. The letter calls for a grand jury and for the courts to give Pagliano “a second opportunity to show up after first failing to appear.”
Chaffetz writes that “there is no legal basis for Pagliano’s refusal to appear before the Committee,” and he is right. There is no excuse for this man to break the law and get away with it! Most of us would have worse consequences for failure to pay a parking ticket. Pagliano must be brought to justice or else our system is in jeopardy.
Of course the democrats are fighting Chaffetz tooth and nail. But with the help of a tough Attorney General like Jeff Sessions, the committee will be successful in pursuing the charges.
