According to recent reports, liberals are infuriated after Senator James Inhofe recently introduced a bill making English the official language of the United States.
Inhofe, from Oklahoma, claims that the goal of the bill is to unite the country by “strengthening the cords of unity that come from sharing one vision and one official language.” The bill would require the federal government to use English while conducting official business.
The bill seems common sense enough, and has received the support of many Republicans. Still, some liberals are speaking out against the legislation, claiming that it is pointless. In fact, some are arguing that it is further dividing the nation by causing a barrier to non-native speakers.
What do you think? Should English already be the official language of the United States?
