Chuck Todd Knocks Trump Voters and Writes off 2016 Win as Result of ‘Big Chunk’ of US Being ‘Gullible’

MSNBC and NBC News host Chuck Todd wrote off President Donald Trump’s presidential 2016 win as a result of “gullible” voters and “gaslighting” by his campaign.

Todd was with his NBC colleagues Andrea Mitchell and Hallie Jackson on a Recode Decode podcast this week and seemingly bashed Trump’s presidential election win and those who voted for him.

“I knew the gaslighting was out there. I knew it was every day,” Todd said before continuing:

“But I think there was part of me in my head assumed people were discerning it out, knew the BS from the non-BS. So, I think what my sort of shock to the system was just sort of how gullible a big chunk of the country was to this and gullible because maybe they want to be gullible.”

“I do think that Twitter was built for Trump’s brain in ways beyond,” Todd said later on in the interview.

This isn’t the first time Todd has taken aim at President Trump defeating former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

In a previous “MTP Daily” segment, Todd mentioned how “obsessed” he is of the thinking about what the U.S. would be like if Clinton were president, Fox News reported:

“Lots of people would probably be happy today. Donald Trump would be happy. He could have built his Moscow tower with his bestie Vladimir Putin, and no one would have cared … Cohen would be happy. He’d still be Mr. Trump’s right-hand guy. Melania Trump, my guess is she’d be happy. She would be living in New York still, and guess what? She really wouldn’t have to care, would she?”

The president also hasn’t grown fond of the NBC journalist, nicknaming him “Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd.”

“Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Fake NBC News said it’s time for the Press to stop complaining and to start fighting back. Actually Chuck, they’ve been doing that from the day I announced for President. They’ve gone all out, and I WON, and now they’re going CRAZY!” President Trump tweeted in September.
