Democratic Congressman Tweets and Deletes After Going Low With Uncalled-for Shot at Trump’s Marriage

A Democratic congressman has deleted an uncalled-for tweet he sent out on Friday that took a cheap shot at President Donald Trump’s marriage with first lady Melania Trump, but it didn’t go unnoticed.

Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) tweeted out a criticism of the president’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, but he took things to another level when he decided to use the opportunity to slip in a diss at the first family.

“I opposed sending troops to Syria,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet, according to the Daily Caller. “I also oppose throwing allies under a bus. We told Kurds if they joined this dangerous fight we’d have their backs. Trump just abandoned them after a call w/Erdogan.”

Huffman then launched an unnecessary attack on POTUS and FLOTUS at the end of his message:
“He’s as disloyal to allies as he is to Melania. Devastating to US credibility.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), for example, blasted Trump’s choice to pull troops, warning him that it could amount to a “huge Obama-like mistake.” And as IJR Blue reported, even the president’s biggest cheerleaders on “Fox & Friends” weren’t too pleased by the move.

“He just re-founded ISIS,” host Brian Kilmeade said at the time.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, however, pushed back on the claim, prompting Kilmeade to say that “the word on the ground is different from what you just said.”
