Robert Ritchie, famously known as Kid Rock, has led the US Senate Race Michigan for 2018, a poll issued on Sunday has shown.
The poll conducted by Delphi Analytica has supported the Michigan-native supporter of Trump, and has put him at 30 percent, some 4 points before Debbie Stabenow. Out of all respondents, 44 percent have not chosen a candidate. Those who did choose, picked Kid Rock, resulting in his lead with 54-56 percent.
The entertainer, whose decades-long career has evolved around multiple genres, like country, rock and rap, entered the 2018 race in July and posted some series on social media. Kid Rock finally confirmed he was running with a post on Facebook, and an image saying he did not give a “f**k”.
Once again the press is wrong. First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC!…
His initial endorsement for president went to Dr. Ben Carson, Ritchie was quick to become an enthusiast in supporting Trump’s campaign and played at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, following Trump’s GOP nomination for president. He was shortly slammed for his pro-Trump clothing brand, selling shirts with irrelevant racy messages.
As controversial as he is, Kid Rock appeared in many papers for his use of the Confederate flag onstage even though he was condemned by the entire nation amid the shootings in North Charleston in 2015.
Kid Rock has so far planned a pro-Second Amendment, emphasizing the need of better health care and reforms in the taxation.
In the meantime, Dems have not been taking the Kid Rock run for Senate as joke. In a fundraising email, Senator Elizabeth Warren said they all thought Donald Trump was joking about running for president as well, but it turned out to be true.
The 46-year-old Ritchie has yet to pave his road to the Senate in order to prevail the upcoming surveys. The surveys, nonetheless, have added a dose of seriousness to the run, which needless to say, has kicked off on a cheerful tone.
