Gary Sinise Flies Gold Star Children to the Happiest Place on Earth — People Are Overwhelmingly Appreciative

Actor Gary Sinise is giving back to families that have experienced the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the country.
Sinise’s Snowball Express Program was started in 2017 to help families of fallen military heroes to cope with the holiday season without their loved ones. This year, the Gary Sinise Foundation revealed that families were taken on a trip to Disney World.
“The holidays can be especially challenging for grieving families. Each December, we host a five-day experience for 1,750+ children of the fallen and their surviving parent or guardian,” said the foundation website. “As a therapeutic retreat with a blend of fun and inspiring programs, these families can lean on their peers for support. And this year we’re bringing Snowball Express to Walt Disney World Resort!”

Many people responded on Twitter thanking Sinise for his support of the U.S. military and their families:
A good man doing great work for the children of the best men who did the worst work. God bless @GarySinise, these Gold Star children and their parents who gave all for them and our nation. https://t.co/G65tyZcbG2

He is such a class act. I wish we had many more people like him in Hollywood, and beyond.

Why is it that whenever I read things like this I get something in my eye? I swear it's sand in my eye…

The actor hopes to give families a good support system to help adjust to a new lifestyle and uses the trips as a way to connect families together.
“No matter where these families are in the grieving process, we hope to inspire them to believe anything is possible,” said a post on the foundation website. “By providing guilt-free fun and beneficial resources in a stress-free environment, we’re creating a community to learn, grow, and make lasting memories with new friends.”
