‘HELL NO, YOU’RE NOT!’: Mom Rips Beto To His Face Over Gun Confiscation Plan

Lauren Boebert, owner of Shooters Grill, blasted Democrat presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke to his face on Thursday over his extreme plan to confiscate semi-automatic firearms, telling him: “Hell no, you’re not!”

“Gun-owning Americans who heard your speech and heard what you had to say regarding ‘Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s and AK-47s’ — Well, I am here to say, ‘Hell no, you’re not,'” Boebert, who has several children, told O’Rourke.

Many of O’Rourke’s supporters were so rude to Boebert that O’Rourke had to step in and tell them to knock it off and to let her speak.

“I would like to know how you intend to legislate evil because it is not the gun, it is the heart of the man that does that. We all have stories. Excuse me,” Boebert said.

“Let’s allow her to finish. Please, please, please, please,” O’Rourke pleaded with the crowd.

“We all have these stories. We all have these experiences. I was living in Aurora during Columbine. I had just recently moved when the Aurora shootings happened. Yet I have very close ties here. Yet all of those people were there defenseless,” Boebert continued. “They had no way to defend themselves against a crazed shooter, so I want to know how you intend to legislate the hearts of men and leave American citizens like myself, American mothers. I have four children. I’m 5 foot zero, one hundred pounds, cannot really defend myself with a fist.”

More of O’Rourke’s supporters continued to jeer at Boebert and yell at her which again prompted O’Rourke to plead with them to let her finish.

Boebert recounted an experience she had near her restaurant where a man was beaten to death in the alley, which she said “shook me up,” the Free Beacon reported.

“He lost his life that night, and it kinda shook me up. I was there alone a lot and I thought, ‘what am I gonna do, what am I gonna do if something happens, what if somebody comes in here, my husband isn’t here to protect me, I’m all alone,’ and really, that’s what got me to open-carry,” Boebert said. “We’ve become a voice for the Second Amendment, and it’s a voice I’m proud to have. There are so many voices darkening the Second Amendment, and I’m proud to be a part of those standing and taking their place and saying, ‘No, we rightfully own our firearms and we’re responsible with them.'”

At the event, O’Rourke signaled that he was open to becoming even more extreme on his gun confiscation program as he was open to the idea of banning and confiscating all semi-automatic firearms, which comprise the overwhelming majority of the estimated 393 million firearms owned by Americans:

Todd, a pro-Second Amendment supporter who sought to discover just how far O’Rourke was willing to take his extreme gun control policies, told O’Rourke: “I understand that you want to implement a mandatory buyback for AR-15s and AK-47s. None of my classmates were murdered with those weapons, 50% of mass murders don’t happen with those weapons.”

“Don’t you think it’s time to get rid of all semi-auto firearms?” Todd asked.

O’Rourke, who at one point said that if he was elected that he would be removing firearms from people’s “homes,” responded by saying that he wanted input from Todd about what types of weapons he thinks should be banned.

Several minutes later, after the event ended and O’Rourke moved inside to answer questions from reporters, a reporter asked O’Rourke if he would be open to adding “additional classes” of firearms to his ban and confiscation plan.

“Yeah, I want to listen to him,” O’Rourke responded. “If there’s a way to improve what we have proposed, I want to make sure that we are reflecting that.”
