President Donald Trump has already signed some mammoth executive orders.
If you’ve been following along, you’re well aware of the list; if you need recap, check out the president’s fantastic weekly summary, which also included a wonderful message to America.
One of our favorites thus far is the awesome order that cleared the way for the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall and beefed up security, just one of many hard-hitting changes this country desperately needs.
But Trump just dropped one of the biggest executive actions yet and it has left Washington’s ears ringing. Those who like federal regulations (for whatever bizarre reason) might want to turn away now..
As revealed by Yahoo News, President Trump signed an order today “that will seek to dramatically pare back federal regulations by requiring agencies to cut two existing regulations for every new rule introduced.”
This isn’t just big; it’s monumental. Historic even. And Trump’s words drive that point home:
“‘This will be the biggest such act that our country has ever seen. There will be regulation, there will be control, but it will be normalized control,’” Trump said as he signed the order in the Oval Office, surrounded by a group of small business owners.“
This means the White House will set an annual cap on the cost of new regulations, which is a huge boon for U.S. businesses.
For the rest of the fiscal year 2017, the cap “will require that the cost of any additional regulations be completely offset by undoing existing rules, the official said on customary condition of anonymity.”
Trump has been saying for a while that he wants to slash federal regulations, and this includes cutting crippling business regulations and dropping taxes to a more reasonable number…one that won’t have American companies running across the border.
In the end, when the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) goes to issue a new measure, they will have to figure out which two regulations will be repealed in order for the new order to survive.
How’s THAT for cutting back on intrusive government insanity?
The country has needed a forward-thinking president for a long time, one who puts the people and their work first, and DOESN’T believe that federal regulations are the answer to everything.
Yeah, that’s you, Barack Obama.
