Melania Lends a Helping Hand to Make Sure Toys for Tots Brings ‘So Much Joy’ to Children in Need This Christmas

First lady Melania Trump helped Marines with a Toy for Tots drive, which is an event she says she’s been looking forward to all year.
Trump helped sort toys that were donated to the project alongside members of the military and their children. There were dozens of volunteers, and the first lady shared her excitement at being able to help give children presents on Christmas.

“I have been looking forward to this event ever since last year’s ended,” Trump said. “As a mother, I feel children are the most precious gift of all. They provide so much joy in life.”

According to The White House, Trump also donated 100 books in “Be Best” tote bags to the Toys for Tots literacy program.

According to Lt. Gen. Henry Osman, president and CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, there is a greater need for toys this year due to devastation from multiple hurricanes on the East Coast and the California wildfires.
He said that the first lady was “our No. 1 volunteer” and that she was a great addition to the drive.
