In the few weeks she has been First Lady, Melania Trump has shown herself to be a deeply private person. That’s why it came as somewhat of a surprise on Monday when she reopened the White House to the public for tours.
“I am excited to reopen the White House to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come each year. The White House is a remarkable and historic site and we are excited to share its beauty and history. I am committed to the restoration and preservation of our Nation’s most recognizable landmark,” Melania announced, according to AOL.
During the White House tours, visitors will get a glimpse of the redecorating the First Lady is doing. She recently hired interior designer Tham Kannalikham, a designer known for classic and subdued taste, to help her execute her vision for the home.
“Mrs. Trump has a deep appreciation for the historical aspects of the White House and with Tham’s traditional design and expertise, they are focusing on a seamless integration of elegance and comfort into where the president, the first lady, and Barron will be spending their family time and calling their home,” Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, senior adviser to the First Lady said in a statement to WWD.
