Michelle Obama Continues Her Streak of Using Opportunities to Promote Her Book to Bash Trump

During another chance to promote her new book “Becoming” on Wednesday, former first lady Michelle Obama just couldn’t resist using the occasion to take yet another swipe at President Donald Trump.

The former first lady sat down for a wide-ranging conversation on her book tour, during which she appeared to claim the president has lowered the bar for the Oval Office since her husband departed it.

“Often time, when you’re the first or the only, the bar shifts a lot, right?” she said, according to the Associated Press. “The bar gets set, you meet it, exceed it, they move the bar, and were watching that right now — the bar’s just swinging, and swinging.”

Obama then compared Trump’s presidency to when former President Barack Obama was in office, stating that her husband had a standard of “telling the truth” despite a plethora of comments deemed false by Politico’s fact checker:

“It’s a totally new bar — never seen this bar before, ever. But when [we] were in office, our bar was very different — not getting indicted, and telling the truth.”

Her latest remark comes as she’s spent much of her press tour weighing in on the current administration and first family.

During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” she threw some shade at first lady Melania Trump following reports that a White House staff was fired after a tiff with her, saying she never had a similar incident arise and that the Obama administration was full of “wonderful people.”

At another event for her book in Detroit, Obama again touched on the difference in standards between her husband and President Trump, quipping that as the first African-American first family, “We can’t make mistakes. We can’t get indicted.”

Appearing on the “Tonight Show” this week, the former first lady appeared to take another swipe at POTUS and Melania, saying her thought as she was leaving the White House on inauguration day 2016 was, “Bye Felicia!”

“A lot was going on that day. That was a day,” she continued before seemingly knocking the first lady’s gift to her. “Then the Tiffany’s box.”
