Mike Pence Just STUNNED America…No One Saw THIS Coming!

Politicians are usually the kind of people who hog the spotlight. They naturally gravitate to a vocation where all eyes will be on them.

However, one Washington, D.C. resident had an experience that turned that stereotype on its head.

Benny Johnson is used to the motorcades that make traffic in the nation’s capital so stressful. What he didn’t expect was what happened when one of these motorcades stopped at the World War II Memorial on the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Johnson writes that even though an executive branch VIP was obviously being transported to the scene, the memorial wasn’t on lockdown:

My curiosity piqued as I entered the memorial. There, sitting amongst the processional was none other than Vice President-elect Mike Pence. He was flanked by WWII veterans, some who served during the attack on Perl Harbor, FDR’s grandson and Senator John McCain.

So why was this stop not on the vice president-elect’s schedule?

According to a top Pence official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Mike Pence did not want to cause a “distraction” by being on the official schedule, he wanted the event to revolve around the veterans present.

Johnson was told that Pence simply wanted to “sit in the audience and not be recognized.”

None of the employees had been notified in advance of Pence’s low key visit. After laying a wreath, he left “as silently and swiftly as he had arrived.”

What a welcome change of pace. No selfies or speeches or other attention-grabbing stunts, just an old fashioned sense of decorum. This bodes well for the tone of the Trump administration.
