Nancy Pelosi Vows To ‘Avenge’ Barack Obama By Opposing Supreme Court Nominee

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is declaring war on President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, and she has vowed to go down fighting, if it’s the last thing she does.

In an email to supporters Monday night, Pelosi vowed to “avenge” President Barack Obama and his vision for the Supreme Court by exerting her influence on a process taking place in a house of Congress she has no access to and no influence over.

“I emailed on Saturday. I emailed on Sunday. Now I’m emailing you again today,” Pelosi began her plea for cash and support. “I’m determined to avenge President Obama if it’s the last thing I do.”

Pelosi goes on to outline her “plan” to force Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to drop Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination and replace him with Obama’s Supreme Court pick for Justice Antonin Scalia’s vacant seat, Merrick Garland.

Shockingly, the plan involves begging for donations to Pelosi’s Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, an account designed to help fund races for the House of Representatives, not the Senate, where Democrats could make inroads against Kavanaugh’s appointments (however unlikely), and not literally avenging President Obama’s failed Supreme Court nominee.

Kavanaugh is a more politically astute choice than was expected from Trump, and it’s likely, thanks to Kavanaugh’s earlier testimony on Roe v. Wade calling the decision “settled law,” that moderate Republicans will join the coalition to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. They may, in fact, be joined by several Democrats who are looking at tight 2018 re-election races in states Donald Trump turned red in 2016.
