Professor Called Barbara Bush Racist — Now, She’s Saying All ‘White Editors’ Need to Resign

Remember Randa Jarrar? She was the Fresno State professor who lobbed a series of vitriolic tweets at the Bush family after former first lady Barbara Bush died.

Jarrar controversially celebrated Bush’s death, calling her a racist, a witch, and expressing glee at the fact that her son, former President George W. Bush, was probably sad after her death:

Amid the flurry of backlash she received, Jarrar set her Twitter account to private. But one of her more than 6,000 followers apparently made her recent tweets public.

According to Campus Reform, Jarrar called on her literary colleagues to demand that “white editors resign”:

At some point, all of us in the literary community must DEMAND that white editors resign. It’s time to STEP DOWN and hand over the positions of power. We don’t have to wait for them to f**k up. The fact that they hold these positions is f**k up enough.

Her comments prompted to a wave of criticism on Twitter, including from people who suggested she was acting like a racist:

As some noted, Fresno State hadn’t fired her despite her previous comments. The university reportedly distanced itself from her, saying that “in this instance, the view expressed does not reflect those of the University.”
