‘SNL’ Imagines a ‘Wonderful Life’ Without Trump as President — But POTUS Gets the Last Laugh

President Donald Trump is making sure he gets the last laugh after “Saturday Night Live” trolled him by imagining life if he had never been elected in a “It’s a Wonderful Life” skit on Saturday.

Alec Baldwin returned for the cold open to star as the president, who bemoans life in the White House and is then brought into an alternate reality in which Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election.

Throughout, the skit pokes fun at President Trump, showing a world in which everyone is happy he’s not the Commander in Chief, including himself. But in reality, it doesn’t look like the president was laughing.

On Sunday morning, he unleashed a Twitter tirade against “Saturday Night Live” and other “Democrat spin machines” — even suggesting their content should be “tested in courts.”

“A REAL scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC & Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live,” he tweeted. “It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame & belittle! Collusion?”

The tweet came as President Trump downplayed the special counsel’s ongoing investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia:

The president has frequently railed against the “Saturday Night Live” for targeting him, lashing out specifically against Baldwin’s impersonations of him. In addition to making fun of President Trump, the comedy show also came under fire recently for targeting veteran and Congressman-elect Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas).
