‘The Most American Thing’: Father Delivers Baby in Chick-fil-A and Wraps Her in His Trump 2020 Shirt

Gracelyn Mae Violet Griffin of Texas had a very American birth earlier this week.

Gracelyn made her debut in the world when her mother and father, both conservative Christians, delivered her at a Chick-fil-A in San Antonio on Wednesday.

According to her father, Robert, Gracelyn’s mother, Falon — whose nickname is “Maggie” — was on the way to the hospital when they had to stop at Chick-fil-A to drop off the couple’s other daughters with a friend.

It was a dire situation as Falon went into “active labor” and “REALLY had to go to the bathroom.”

Chick-fil-A Was Closed, But Staff Let Her In Anyway
Robert described on Facebook how his urgent situation was initially met with closed doors.

“It was after 10pm and Chick-Fil-A was closed. After banging on the glass, the staff answered the door and let Maggie in,” Robert explained:

But after Robert said goodbye to his daughters, he seemed to realize the situation was much more urgent than he previously thought.

“The manager said ‘she’s in the restroom and she’s screaming,’ Robert recalled. ”So there we were… wife and I in a tiny stall in the bathroom, and I could see the top of our little girls head crowning as maggie was straddling the toilet.”

Robert told Chick-fil-A to call 911 and tried breaking the news to his wife.

“Sweetie, we are gonna have to do this right here, right now,” he said

Robert Was Able to Unwrap the Umbilical Cord Around His Daughter’s Neck
As if the situation wasn’t tense enough, Robert saw that his daughter’s umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice.

“Didn’t want to alert my wife, so just told her try to relax for a minute and I was somehow able to unwrap the chord (sic) from the baby’s neck,” he said.

After two more strong pushes, Gracelyn came out of her mother and into her father’s Trump 2020 campaign shirt.

According to Robert, his daughter’s birth certificate read, “Born in Chick-Fil-A,” the couple’s favorite place to eat. And as fate would have it, according to KSAT, the couple had gotten their daughter a Chick-fil-A “little nugget” outfit three months prior to her birth.

“I thinks (sic) it’s pretty ironic that a proud conservative, Christian family would have a baby in a Chick-Fil-A,” he said, “and wrapped in a Trump 2020 T-shirt! BOOM #maga #mywifesthebest #chickfila #texas 🇺🇸 #chickfilababy.”

Others on Facebook appeared to agree with him, indicating that Gracelyn’s entrance was pretty unique:

“Started that child out right !!” one commenter said.

“If this isn’t the most American thing you can think of, idk what is,” another wrote.

Gracelyn’s Place of Birth Granted Her Special Privilege for the Rest of Her Life
As a mother, Falon was obviously grateful that her baby was alive and breathing at that moment.

“All I cared about at the end of the day was the baby was breathing, and by the time they (first responders) arrived, she was pink, thankfully for those blankets for keeping her warm,” she said, according to KSAT.

But what she probably didn’t expect was that in its own way, Chick-fil-A would take care of her for the rest of her life.

According to KSAT, Chick-fil-A gave Gracelyn free food for life and guaranteed her a job at the age of 14.

The franchise owners also reportedly planned for Gracelyn to have her first birthday party at the restaurant.
