Trump Takes ‘Time to Call’ Gov After Son’s Illness: ‘That’s the Donald Trump That People Don’t Know’

After President Donald Trump urged West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice at Wednesday’s rally to go home to his son who was ill with a blood clot, the president gave Justice a surprise follow-up call.

“I walk up to him and he puts his arms around me … he says, ‘As soon as you get through talking, you get the hell out of here and go back to Johns Hopkins,’” Justice recalled on Saturday’s “Fox & Friends.”

President Trump was looking after Justice’s best interest when he gave the governor a follow-up ring to see how things were going.

The governor’s OnStar system began ringing, catching him off guard.

“He said, ‘Big Jim, you’re the greatest,’” Justice recalled Trump saying. “‘All I’m calling for is, how’s Jay?’

“It’s almost like God speaking to me,” Justice joked.

“It’s incredible that he would just take the time to call,” Justice added, according to Fox News. “That’s the Donald Trump that people don’t know.”

“He’s brash, and he gets himself in a mess a lot of times. He’s Donald Trump,” Justice said. “But I’m telling you the reason so much I love him is I know how much he cares.”

The governor told Fox News that “everybody should know” that President Trump really does care not only for the country but for the people who reside in it, too.
