The signs of Robert Mueller’s corruption continue to show as he investigates the so-called Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy.
After announcing he intended to look into Trump’s personal finances, it was suggested that Trump should fire him for blatantly going beyond the scope of his investigation. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) issued a shocking threat about what would happen if Trump did so, “Any effort to go after Mueller could be the beginning of the end of the Trump presidency…”
Graham has been severely opposed to Trump since the early primaries. In May, he sent out a tweet warning the GOP of nominating Trump for president after Trump won the Indiana primary, saying, “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed…and we will deserve it.”
Graham told reporters that the nomination of Trump was essentially death. “If you nominate Trump and Cruz, I think you get the same outcome. Whether it’s death by being shot or poisoning doesn’t really matter. I don’t think the outcome will be substantially different.”
His feelings toward Trump haven’t changed despite the successes of his presidency so far. If anything, Graham seems to feel more resentment toward the president and has been a strong advocate of crippling the president’s power to fire those who are failing to do their job.
The strong warning against firing Mueller comes on the heels of a similar warning he issued when asked about the potential for Attorney General Jeff Sessions getting fired. “I’m 100% behind Jeff Sessions. If Jeff Sessions is fired, there will be holy hell to pay.”
To back up his threats, Graham has been supposedly working on a bill with Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) that effectively handicaps the president’s authority. It would essentially prevent President Trump from firing a special counsel appointed to investigate him. The only leeway Trump would have is if there is “judicial review of the firing.”
Despite Mueller having a team full of Democrat supporters, being a close friend to Comey, and going after Trump’s family finance records to continue his witch hunt, Graham believes Mueller is doing nothing wrong. “Right now, I have no reason to believe that Mueller is compromised. If you’ve got reason to believe he shouldn’t be serving as special counsel, let me know,” Graham said.
This is not the sentiment held by true conservatives who see the danger of having Mueller as special counsel. According to Sean Hannity, Mueller is bad news. “Robert Mueller, this guy has more conflicts of interest than… we can count on this show, which are also violations of federal law,” Hannity said.
Many conservatives want President Trump to fire Mueller because they don’t believe he is running an unbiased investigation. Do you believe the investigation is without bias and completely independent?
The ultimate concern of Republicans is not that Mueller will actually find anything to support liberal claims of collusion, but that he won’t stop until they have something with which they can work.
This concern was voiced by Newt Gingrich in an interview with Sean Hannity when he said, “He’s hired all of these guys who have given up their very expensive law services to come out and try to get somebody and they’re going to eventually find somebody to prosecute because there are too many lawyers being paid too much money for them to go home having accomplished nothing.”
It’s bad enough Democrats have been adamant in their resistance to Trump. The last thing we need are Republicans like Graham working to handcuff the Trump administration to prevent them from doing their job. Mueller needs to be replaced with an unbiased investigator who can be trusted to do his work fairly, or the Trump-Russia collusion narrative needs to be dropped altogether.
