On The Today Show, Matt Lauer really wanted to make Kraft, the owner of the Patriots look the fool, but Kraft came ready for battle, probably assuming the liberal would literally pull out the Trump card.
“Well, you know what’s interesting, this is our, I’m happy to say, fifth Super Bowl in the last 16 years,” Kraft stated. “And every time we’ve had the privilege of going to the White House, a dozen of our players don’t go. This is the first time it’s gotten any media attention.”
Kraft shrugged off the dig Lauer tried to shoot at him — he doesn’t care who knows about his relationship with Donald Trump. He’s happy to once again have his team as Super Bowl Champions, and that’s all.
Kraft doesn’t care if the world knows about his friendship with President Trump, and he doesn’t care how his players feel about it either. If they don’t want to be signed to a successful team like the Patriots and earn millions of dollars, then they can push off.
Players like Chris Long, Devin McCourty, LeGarrette Blount, Martellus Bennett, and several others are refusing to visit the White House this year. Kraft doesn’t have an issue with this, stating that many of the players don’t go regardless of who the president is.
The mainstream media are once again showing that they can inject their bias into anything, sports included. Why ruin something pure and simple like football by talking about people’s political motivations?
Some of the players who aren’t going this year, including Bennett, Blount, and McCourty, have given political reasons for declining their invitation to the White House, yet they have been applauded by the media and other leftist groups.
It is fine if they don’t want to go, but I don’t think they need to broadcast their reasons. It is a great privilege to be able to go to the White House and meet the president. With the First Lady reopening White House tours, at least the American people can visit again.
I just hope the liberals remember all this when and if they ever get back to the White House and conservative athletes make a big deal about not going there because they are now sitting in the White House. My guess is that will not go over very well. My guess is the media will also crush them for it rather than applaud them, such as they are doing with the Patriots this year.
Go to the White House or don’t; the facts don’t change. The Patriots won the Super Bowl, Kraft and Trump are friends, and liberals whine about everything. What else is new?
