MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow had a hard go of it during her Friday evening broadcast. The expressive liberal nearly broke down into tears relaying to her viewers that Special Counsel Robert Mueller — after two long years of investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election — will not be pursuing additional indictments.
Maddow explained to viewers that she rushed to the studio, cutting her Tennessee vacation short, to deliver the death-blow personally to her comrades in the Trump #Resistance.
“A couple of hours ago, or maybe even less than that, I was standing knee-deep in a trout stream in Tennessee,” the MSNBC host opened her show, according to The Blaze. “But now it’s Mueller time! And so I’m in a studio in the great state of Tennessee. The trout are basically just as safe as they were when I was flailing away at them ineffectually this afternoon.”
“But now, listen, this is history. This is a reason to stop fishing and go to work,” said a visibly emotional Maddow. “Our job tonight—as a country sort of or at least—what everybody in the country is going to be doing tonight is trying to figure out what it means that the report of special counsel Robert Mueller has finally been submitted. We’ve heard it said so many times that it was imminent, that it was done and maybe done and we didn’t know about it. Finally, it’s happened.”
As you might remember, Maddow had a meltdown when Donald Trump was elected to the White House in 2016, telling her viewers that this was their “life now.”
The far-left politico, a true #Resistance believer, tried her best to downplay the massive hit to Team Collusion. “In terms of what that means and what Mueller found, we know only the smallest little bits. This is the start of something apparently, not the end of something.”
Mueller’s report was dumped late Friday afternoon.
“In a letter to the majority and minority leaders of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, Attorney General William Barr said Mr. Mueller had concluded his investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and related matters, and said he would be able to alert Congress to Mr. Mueller’s ‘principal conclusions’ as soon as this weekend,” reported The Wall Street Journal. “Those conclusions are expected to be made public.”
The Journal noted that Mr. Mueller’s report was described by sources as “comprehensive” and that the special counselor’s investigation examined the 2016 Trump campaign’s “connections to Russian election interference and whether the president himself tried to obstruct justice.”
But most notably, it was reported that Mueller is not recommending any further indictments, which burst the Left’s dubious Trump/Russia collusion narrative bubble. As declared by The Daily Wire’s Josh Hammer, the Mueller report appears to have finally vindicated skeptics, and President Trump himself, of the Left’s “collusion” narrative.
In atypical fashion, Trump has yet to sound off on the matter. But early on Sunday, the president posted two enthusiastic tweets; one wishing the American people a good morning, and the other simply stating “Make America Great Again.”
